Irish voted for gay marriage… legal abortion next?

So where to next for Ireland? The progressive elite already have their next target in sight - the repeal of the eighth amendment to the Constitution, which guarantees the right to life of the unborn. While the effectiveness of this amendment is compromised due to the 1992 Supreme Court decision in the “X case,” it is […]

Pro-life blog buzz 12-23-14

pro-lifeby Susie Allen, host of the blog, Pro-Life in TN, and Kelli

  • ProLife365 has a humorous post on the benefits of having a large family.
  • Saynsumthn’s Blog reports on the pro-abortion Unitarian Church’s Alternative Gift List for 2014. Topping their list: Give to a center for abused children or perhaps donate to Planned Parenthood, the nation largest promoter and provider of abortions. Talk about the ultimate child abuse – death by dismemberment – and the ultimate in compartmentalization.

Abortion enthusiasts promote illegal abortions

During the last week of May abortion proponent Dawn Porter and members of the National Network of Abortion Funds traversed southern Texas and upper Mexico to film footage for an upcoming documentary, Trapped.

Trapped will “look at the impact of Targeted Regulation of Abortion Providers (TRAP) laws in the southern United States, and their disproportionate effect on women living in poverty.”

There are currently no abortion clinics in the Rio Grande Valley, which borders Mexico. The nearest one in the U.S. is 230 miles north in San Antonio.

The group filmed themselves crossing the border to buy Misoprostol, an ulcer drug that is used off-label to induce abortions.

Misoprostol is available only by prescription in the U.S. and can only be dispensed by doctors for abortions. But it can be purchased over-the-counter in Mexico.

After the purchase, NNAF tweeted photos, along with instructions on how to use Misoprostol illegally to self-induce an abortion…

Stanek weekend question: Thoughts on Sebelius as she rides off into the sunset?

I was in Ireland when news broke last week that HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius was resigning, but a reader wrote asking that I give you all an opportunity to talk about her. Indeed, in the minds of pro-lifers, Kathleen Sebelius is a scandalous, abominable, corrupt abortion protector, going back to her days as governor of […]

We are winning the war against abortion in America on all measurable fronts

facebook_1985578370

You may (or may not!) have noticed I’ve been out-of-pocket a few days. I was in Dublin, Ireland, where I was asked to speak at the National Convention for Life 2014 on April 12.

16668_606486482773510_604782369_nThe daylong event was more than sold out. Many came who hadn’t registered, and although there were dozens of chairs added, some of the 600 attendees still had to stand.

The life issue is huge in Ireland, which was abortion free until the tragic death in 2012 of Savita Halappanavar and her 17-wk-old baby, which abortion zealots exploited and lied about to push through a law legalizing abortion for medical emergencies and suicidal ideation last year.

In that light, NCFL organizers asked me to encourage our Irish counterparts by describing how we are winning the war against abortion in America. You can view my speech here, but I thought I’d post the statistics I showed – many compiled by abortion proponents – demonstrating that we are indeed prevailing in just about every measurable way. • Coming Home has a bold rebuttal to Cardinal Timothy Dolan’s appearance on Meet the Press, where he claimed that Obamacare wouldn’t really be a problem if it weren’t for the HHS contraception mandate:

Stanek weekend question: Should pro-lifers embrace economic liberalism?

money-babyNew York Times pro-life columnist Ross Douthat pitched an interesting idea this week:

WHAT happens to a modern society when abortion is restricted? This question is at the heart of the debate over Texas’s new abortion law, which bans abortions after 20 weeks and issues health regulations that could thin the ranks of state abortion clinics, making even first-trimester abortions harder to obtain….

Pro-life news brief 7-22-13

by JivinJ, host of the blog, JivinJehoshaphat In 2012, a foreign national who traveled from Ireland to Great Britain for an abortion died in a taxi cab after having an abortion at a Marie Stopes clinic: The woman died in January 2012. An inquest has not yet been held into the woman’s death as the […]
