Stanek Sunday funnies, “Obamacare fixed I” edition

Obamacare continues to provide rich fodder to both liberal and conservative political cartoonists. This week, is the fix in?

On one hand the fix has always been in on President Obama’s healthcare plan and how it was sold to the public and railroaded through Congress. On the other hand, a technical fix doesn’t do much. Following were five of my top 10 favorites for the week. View the other five here. Vote for your fav at the bottom of the post.

Stanek Sunday funnies, “Reversal of fortune” edition

President Obama’s signature domestic policy may have accomplished something previously unthinkable: taking an issue where one party had a dominant hold on public opinion, and reversing it in favor of the opposing party….

[W]e could be witnessing a political achievement unequaled in modern political history: the complete demolition of one party’s long-term dominance on an issue area – the Democrats’ ownership of the health care issue – in the space of a few months.

Politically and substantively, this is a low for the administration. “Things suck right now,” says one Senate Democratic aide. “They suck unbelievably much, considering where we were six weeks ago.”

Happy Mother’s Day!

Here were my top five favorite cartoons this week, beginning with a bittersweet Mother’s Day tribute to one of the Cleveland hostages’ moms, who passed away before knowing her daughter was alive. But Amanda Berry is indeed alive and now has her own daughter, Jocelyn, the clearly much loved child of her rapist. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite cartoon in the poll at the bottom of this post.

I haven’t been this offended by a liberal cartoon in a long time. But Steve Benson at GoComics.com has disgusted me, managing to tie abortion, contraceptive coverage(?!), and “no respect for rape victims” to a horrific story where one of three kidnap victims was beaten and starved until she miscarried five times. She certainly was given no “choice.” It is for this reason her captor may get the death penalty. But to abortion proponents, no story is unrelated to their sick blood lust…

Here were my top five favorite cartoons this week, beginning with one by abortion proponent Steve Benson at GoComics.com, who I’d say is actually the one obsessing about that which he accuses Rick Santorum…  by Eric Allie at Townhall.com…
