Media ignores pro-life ire over Komen-Planned Parenthood bond

Komen donations down after Planned Parenthood reconnect, thanks to pro-life supportersYet another mainstream media outlet is crediting – or blaming, depending on one’s viewpoint – abortion supporters for the fundraising woes Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure has experienced in the aftermath of its realliance with Planned Parenthood, while ignoring any ire pro-life proponents may be demonstrating with their closed wallets.

From TribLive.com, June 23, which also perpetuates another falsehood:

GOP: Competing for the pro-choice 41 percent?

Following the results of last week’s election, here comes the inevitable renewed call to oust pro-life principles from the Republican Party platform.

I almost want to tell the GOP to go ahead. Are pundits really that stupid? Never mind the 2012 Gallup poll, which showed the percentage of pro-“choice” Americans at a historic low…

Do Republicans really want to compete with Democrats for the 41%, leaving the 50% to wander off to a third party? This would be our only option.

The real problem for the GOP establishment is its players fall into one of three camps: terrified of the pro-life issue, Pro-Life in Name Only, or anti-life.

Would that the Republican establishment were to embrace the pro-life majority of their party as tightly as Democrats have embraced the pro-abortion majority of their party. • Sharp eyes at Moral Outcry found, while doing research on the release of former Susan G. Komen employee Karen Handel’s new book, Planned Bullyhood, that the pink Komen bibles marketed (and then removed) by LifeWay last year were mistakenly on sale again. LifeWay has been notified and has corrected this error.

Susan Tyrrell also details how the explosive news about Komen’s attempt to cease funding for Planned Parenthood was discovered last year.

“War on Women” 2.0: Obama attacks Romney on Planned Parenthood

The Obama campaign launched a television ad over the weekend attacking Mitt Romney for attacking Planned Parenthood.

Airing in seven battleground states (Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Ohio, Nevada, North Carolina, and Virginia), the ad manages in 30 seconds to hit Romney on several liberal reproductive talking points.

The well-crafted piece starts with a pitchwoman assailing Romney for opposing contraceptives. One must read over what she is saying (see above right) to know the complaint is actually about Romney’s opposition to the Obamacare contraception mandate.

Planned Parenthood CEO gets pushback on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe”

On May 30 Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe to tout her group’s launch that day of an anti-Romney ad campaign.

This was the day after Live Action released its first investigative video of a new series, which exposed Planned Parenthood as a facilitator of sex-selection abortion.

The Live Action videos were not mentioned during the Morning Joe segment, so either they were ignored or Richards stipulated she would only come on if they weren’t brought up.

Nevertheless, (somewhat) conservative host Joe Scarborough got in several digs against the abortion giant.

Komen and Planned Parenthood: What next?

Yes, let the Komen disaster be a lesson to anyone thinking of partnering with Planned Parenthood: You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave. On that topic, my inside source has checked in, telling me there were advisers who in December thought Komen should not notify Planned Parenthood of its […]

Did Komen outfox the Left?

2/4, 7a: HT to Kel for spotting this on the Daily Kos… The apology was nothing more than an attempt to control the damage done to the Komen brand, but the traditional media nonetheless did the work for the foundation by reporting it as a reversal of the Komen Foundation’s decision. But it’s not. 2/3, […]

Decoding Komen’s supposed cave

12:20p: The more I read Komen’s statement, the more brilliant it becomes. Planned Parenthood loses its PR edge if any of its affiliates are convicted on criminal grounds. 12:13p: Ezra Klein at the Washington Post:
