Forgotten holiday?

There was a related tidbit by the Associated Press, in conjunction with Obama eating and (unpaid for) lunch with four winners of the “Lunch with Obama” on June 14:

On June 5 Voice of Choice’s Todd Stave received an email complaining that pro-life activist Tony Massey was harassing caterers delivering orders from Udi’s Foods in Denver to the Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains mega-abortion clinic.

The reason I know the date Stave received that email is because in actuality it came from Tony, who decided to conduct a little reconnaissance mission to test Voice of Choice’s potency.

This week, no surprise, Planned Parenthood Action Fund endorsed President Barack Obama for reelection.

But a lot has happened since the group endorsed Obama in 2008.

It’s a strange question, but in these days of technological procreation, it is happening. From the Washington Post, May 21:

The Supreme Court on Monday ruled that a man’s children who were conceived through artificial insemination after his death cannot get Social Security survivor benefits.

On Saturday came the surprising and welcome news that Chinese pro-life dissident Chen Guangcheng, his wife, and their two children had arrived in the U.S., after a “daylong and hastily arranged flight from Beijing,” according to the New York Times. Next steps, according to NYT:

Mr. Chen will be allowed to attend law school on a fellowship rather than seek asylum, which the authorities in Beijing would have considered an affront. [New York University]… officials said they had already stocked a faculty apartment with Chinese food and new furniture for him.

Pro-life Republican Congressman Chris Smith was one of a throng of supporters and reporters who met Chen at Newark Airport….

• Michael J. Fox is finally curbing his embryonic stem cell enthusiasm while lamely trying to cover his rear. He says:
  

  It’s not so much that [stem cell research has] diminished in its prospects for breakthroughs as much as it’s the other avenues of research have grown and multiplied and become as much or more promising. So, an answer may come from stem cell research but it’s more than likely to come from another area.

  During the interview, Fox Foundation co-founder Deborah Brooks then mentions some of the problems with putting embryonic stem cells into the brains of people with Parkinson’s. You know, the same problems pro-life people have been noting for years and the same problems that Dr. Oz told Fox about on Oprah around 3 years ago.
