Stanek weekend question: Thoughts on Texas and the status of abortion in the US?

I ended up spending most of yesterday on Twitter, relaying information to and from the Texas State Capitol. There the Senate was debating an omnibus pro-life bill, which eventually passed and is on its way to Governor Rick Perry for his anticipated signature.

Stanek wkend question: Should pro-lifers feel responsible for businesses negatively impacted by protests at nearby abortion clinics?

Don’t forget to vote in the poll at the bottom of this post!

In January Jivin J reported on pro-abortion Portland, Maine, businessman Mike Fink, who began sponsoring counterprotests and offering free food to abortion supporters who rallied against pro-lifers protesting in front of the Planned Parenthood next door to his restaurant.

But Fink has decided to throw in the towel. According to the Portland Daily Sun, May 6:

Stanek weekend question: How has the pro-life movement changed for the better?

Pro-life vigils are numerous these days in Ireland, where the abortion-free haven is in danger of legalizing the murder of its wee preborn bairns. After observing a June 8 vigil in Dublin, Irish Times columnist Ann Marie Hourihane observed: The ostensible shift of emphasis to caring for, rather than castigating, the unmarried pregnant girl has […]

Stanek weekend question I: Should the government be involved in organ transplant decisions?

sarah_murnaghan_600It’s already happening. In less than a week, two cases involving children in need of lung transplants have gone to court challenging government policy.

The backstory, from Politico, June 4:

Former tennis champion Jimmy Connors is taking heat for outing the abortion of his 70s girlfriend and tennis champion Chris Evert in his new autobiography, The Outsider.

From a May 20 Slate article by abortion proponent Amanda Marcotte entitled, “Jimmy Connors is woefully out of line on Chris Evert’s abortion”:

Stanek weekend question: What are frustrating ways pro-lifers shut down dialogue?

Last weekend we focused on abortion proponents. This week we analyze ourselves. This weekend’s question comes again from good friend Josh Brahm, Director of Education and Public Relations, Right to Life of Central California: What are the most frustrating or annoying things that pro-life people do that shuts down good dialogue? Stories are welcome. [Photo, […]

Stanek weekend question: How do pro-choicers celebrate Mother’s Day?

2013-05-11_1939

I’ll answer that: with tasteless and tactless audacity, from the top down.

As the Weekly Standard noted, “The White House is marking Mother’s Day… by celebrating free birth control provided by Obamacare“….
