Pro-aborts finally forced to acknowledge notorious quack bottom-feeding abortionists
Abortionist Steven Brigham is so bad (read his lengthy med-mal background here) that even the abortion industry, with its exceedingly low standards that only require abortionists to show up with a remotely functioning third world medical license in any field, has been forced to turn against him. According to the Associated Press:
“His record is the most egregious one I know of in the field,” said Vicki Saporta, president of the National Abortion Federation, an association of abortion providers, which has been warning authorities about Brigham’s practices since the mid-1990s.
I’d like to see proof of NAF’s warnings, but that’s an aside. “Most egregious,” as in Saporta has heard of other egregious abortionists, but Brigham wins the quack hack award.
Yes, so many are suddenly are being forced from under their rocks into the public spotlight, I can’t even keep track of them all. Operation Rescue noted in an email alert yesterday that aside from Brigham, 3 other abortionists in 2 states had their licenses suspended September 8: Nicola Riley (in NJ), George Shepard (in NJ), and Romeo Ferrer (in MD).
Meanwhile the trial against abortionst Rapin Osathanondh for the wrongful death of Laura Hope Smith is scheduled to begin next week in MA. And I know I’m missing some.
With critical mass reached, pro-aborts have been forced to acknowledge these bottom feeders, while attempting the imaginative PR stunt of claiming the gleaning of their pond scum is “progress for women” and “safe abortion[s],” which I thought were already safe.
So does this mean pro-aborts and the industry will now come out in favor of abortion clinic regulations?! I’m waiting for the NAF to update its web page opposing what they call “TRAP bills” (Targeted Regulation of Abortion Provider), which still states:
TRAP bills are often introduced by abortion opponents who claim that abortion is an unsafe and unregulated procedure. By implying that abortion clinics are uniquely dangerous and in need of special regulation, such bills recklessly promote an unfounded fear of abortion.
Abortion is, in fact, one of the safest medical procedures in the United States….
I saw a bumper sticker I really want: It read: Abortion doesn’t make the baby go away. It just makes you the Mother of a Dead Baby.
Until we can make life sacrosanct again, with no more violent video games, or movies or TV shows, then abortion will be rampant. Roe v Wade started this “culture of death” and I pray that a reversal will end it and make each life, no matter how small or how young, invaluable again!
And once again the pro-choice reaction here, to shoddy abortion providers, will likely be a deafeining silence
The most egregious? Let’s look at a few things NAF members have done:
Hanan Rotem, who killed Gloria Aponte, had his receptionist administering general anesthesia.
Steve Lichtenberg, who killed Deanna Bell, got chewed out at a NAF Risk Management Seminar for “playing Russian roulette” with his patients’ lives.
Hector Zavalos sent Barbaralee Davis home with the face and spine of her fetus embedded in a tear in her uterus.
And that’s just a sampling. Abu Hayat, the guy who ripped the arm off a 32-week fetus who was later born alive, and who was caught sexually molesting patients, was a NAF member.
What has Brigham done that’s WORSE than those guys? Inquiring minds want to know.
While I’m at it, it was NAF moderator Michael Burnhill’s intervention that kept Brigham from losing his New Jersey license the first time the state tried to yank it. Hm…
I blogged a summary:

Jill, do you know how to get hold of that AP reporter? Is she deliberately hiding NAF’s complicity in Brigham’s past, or is she just trusting them blindly?
I just remembered: During a National Abortion Federation Risk Management Seminar, one attendee admitted that when he did to a patient what Riley did to hers — pull bowel into the vagina through a hole in the uterus — he’d just stuff the bowel back in through the hole, administer extra medications to contract the uterus, watch her a bit more carefully in recovery, and send her home none the wiser. Moderator Michael Burnhill (who defended Brigham) chewed the guy out, he asked for a show of hands for how many did this. SIX raised their hands after Burnhill had chewed the first one out. Brigham at least stuffed his patient into her clothes, carried her to a rental car, and dumped her at an emergency room. Hardly exemplary behavior, but certainly less egregious than just how the NAF guys handle such cases.
