Lunch Break: My Mom and movie noir “Laura”
To give us a break from the daily grind…
I hope you all don’t mind my posting something personal today. My Mom Helen would have had her birthday today. She passed away of cancer while a very young 54 years old. My Mom and Dad named me Laura after the beautiful theme song and movie noir “Laura” starring Gene Tierney. We all loved the movie and the actors but especially Gene. Below is a montage that I felt led to post today. This is a tribute to both of my parents whom I love and miss very much.
Email LauraLoo with your Lunch Break suggestions.

Wow. Beautiful.
Thinking of you today, Lauraloo!!
Laura, thanks for posting. I was mesmerized by the photos and music. I didn’t know anything about Tierney. Just read her bio on Wiki, which was tragic in many ways: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gene_Tierney
I hope you’re sensing God’s comfort today, dear LL… :)
Thank you, thank you, Jill and Carla. <3 <3
Her bio in Wikipedia was very interesting.
I highly recommend seeing the movie “Laura”. It’s one of the best mysteries ever made, with such style and wit. Gene was also in “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir” – again another classic with Rex Harrison.
I truly love the old black & white classics but they are very hard to find in the video stores so I usually have to end up buying those I can’t live without.
LL :)
