Pro-life video of the day: Obamacare video vault – Ryan vs. DNC Chair
by LauraLoo
This two-year-old yet timely video serves as a reminder of where current GOP VP nominee Paul Ryan stood on the abortion issue in the health care debate, as opposed to DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
Interesting that both cited “Catholic authorities” agreeing with their individual positions.

Conflicting authorities? Not really. Ryan is correct. The bishops are the legitimate teaching authority, and hospital administrators are not. It’s very clear, unless you are attempting to fool people, like Wasserman Schultz.
Hahaha! I love Ryan in this. “Ooh, hey, I’m glad you asked that because I have a handy-dandy visusal aid that I brought with me just for this question! Ta-da!”
Of course the nuns can “weigh in”. Heck, Rabbi’s, Imams and I can weigh in. But our “opinions” carry very little weight. Free Speech does not equal Authority. Ryan is right. The Bishops have the final word.
But it isn’t a doctrinal issue.
The issue is whether the bill pays for abortion.
Either the bill funds abortion or it doesn’t.
Hospital administrators would be able to determine that.
Collecting payments from third parties is what they do.
