Pro-life news brief 6-11-13

  • Arizona lawmakers are working on legislation to allow abortion clinics to be inspected without announcement and without a warrant. Planned Parenthood is opposed. One state legislator pointed out the silliness of requiring a warrant to have an unannounced inspection of an abortion clinic:

Rep. John Kavanagh, RFountain Hills, pointed out there is no warrant requirement for other state-licensed medical facilities, and that health inspectors need no warrant to check out the conditions in the food-preparation areas of the local McDonald’s restaurant, an operation Kavanagh said is far less dangerous to public safety.

“An inspector can mosey in any time, unannounced, to protect the public,” he said.

Pro-life vid of day, caught on tape: IRS says pro-lifers can’t “force beliefs”

As reported yesterday by LifeSiteNews, IRS Exempt Organization Specialist Sherry Wan spoke with Ania Joseph of the Texas group Pro-Life Revolution, insisting that the organization remain neutral on abortion and avoid speaking to abortion-minded women in order to obtain tax exemption: The legal organization Alliance Defending Freedom represents the group, which did not receive its […]

Columnist slams “pro-life with exceptions” position

This is the bottom line: if you believe an unborn baby is a human being, you cannot, in intellectual honesty, allow an abortion exception for rape or incest. Republicans do this all the time, and it drives me nuts. They deserve to be called out on it, as Sean Hannity was by a Democrat guest […]

Pro-life news brief 6-10-13

  • A Connecticut man’s bail has been set at $2.5 million after he was accused of hiring a friend to kill his pregnant girlfriend. Carlton Bryan allegedly wanted Shamari Jenkins dead because she wouldn’t have an abortion:

Calling the crime “egregious,” prosecutor Cathryn J. Krinitsky told the judge that Bryan asked a friend to shoot his girlfriend because “the girlfriend has previously decided to have an abortion but decided not to.”

According to the warrant for Bryan’s arrest, he “begged” Hall-Davis to shoot Jenkins, 20. She was shot in the chest April 29 as she sat behind the wheel of her Honda Accord, with Bryan in the front passenger seat, in front of 137 Magnolia St. in the city’s North End.

“Carlton Bryan did not want to have the baby with Shamari Jenkins,” Hall-Davis told police. “Carlton Bryan said Shamari initially agreed to have an abortion but changed her mind and she was now four months pregnant.”

Hall-Davis also told police that Bryan “wanted to stay with… his other girlfriend,” the warrant states.

Pro-life video of the day: Daddies who win their daughters’ hearts

by LauraLoo Via a write-up and recording by Family Life Today: When Greg Wright realized that he didn’t have a clue who his daughter’s best friend was, he decided to do something radical to reconnect. That’s when the concept of “dating” his daughters took shape, and he’s never looked back.  Greg joins another fan of […]

Two more Planned Parenthoods close; number of clinics down 23% from high

2013-06-09_1637

I was researching something last week and stumbled on an announcement by Planned Parenthood of Northeast, Mid-Penn & Bucks County in Pennsylvania that it was shuttering its Carlisle clinic. This is not an abortion mill; it is what pro-lifers call a “feeder” – a conduit to PP abortion mills. But its closure is still a boon for the health and welfare of that community. And Planned Parenthood’s political influence will be removed from the area.
