Operation Rescue finally received a heavily redacted 911 recording from the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service three months after making an open records request about an ambulance call made on November 26, 2013, to LeRoy Carhart’s Germantown Reproductive Health Services abortion clinic in Maryland.

Several pieces of information were redacted from the recording for seemingly political reasons meant to protect the abortion clinic from scrutiny.

• At New Wave Feminists, our latest blog addition, Destiny says that her son, for whom she chose life when she experienced an unplanned pregnancy as a teen, was “the best thing that ever happened” to her. Rather than ruining her life, he made her strong:
  

  Had I aborted him it would’ve been out of nothing but fear and panic. I would be living in bondage and regret to this day. Through bringing him into this world though I became a feminist, an activist, an advocate for women whose shoes I’ve traveled in. And because of that unplanned pregnancy I found out I was stronger than I ever knew I was. In my opinion, that’s what true feminism is all about.

• In the Wisconsin State Journal, Chris Rickert notices how some protestors are more equal than others:
  

  Speeding its way through the city’s legislative process is an ordinance that would create “buffer zones” around patients as a way to keep anti-abortion protesters from trying to accost women going into Madison’s lone abortion clinic.

  Under the ordinance, you risk a $300 ticket if you get within 8 feet of a patient with a leaflet or a plea to reconsider. And it doesn’t matter if you’re on a sidewalk or other public property if the property is within 160 feet of the clinic.

  By contrast, there are no buffer zones or really any other meaningful government restrictions on free speech in the Capitol rotunda.
