Stanek Sunday quote: “Their country will be stripped of everything because everyone is violent”
Their country will be stripped of everything because everyone who lives there is violent. The cities where people live will be destroyed, and the country will become a wasteland. Then they will know that I am the LORD.
~ Ezekiel 12:19-20, God’s Word translation

You might want to support better gun control measures then.
On the contrary, Reality, the following chapters speak of removing the false prophets and prophetesses, better Reality control measures perhaps. In Ezekiel 13:18-19, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to the women who sew magic charms on all their wrists and make veils of various lengths for their heads in order to ensnare people. Will you ensnare the lives of my people but preserve your own? You have profaned Me among my people for a few handfuls of barley and scraps of bread. By lying to my people, who listen to lies, you have killed those who should not have died and have spared those who should not live.
And in Ezekiel 14:6-8, This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Repent! Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices! When any of the Israelites or any foreigner residing in Israel separate themselves from me and set up idols in their hearts and put a wicked stumbling block before their faces and then go to a prophet to inquire of me, I the Lord will answer them myself. I will set my face against them and make them an example and a byword. I will remove them from my people. Then you will know that I am the Lord.
The following chapters? Why not another book?
I addressed the verses of the chapter above. It addresses violence. That which you cite addresses something entirely different.
Nothing contrary.
Try to get rid of these weapons first: the RU486, the cranioclast, and the aspirator. These are the weapons of a very lethal mercenary.
Who exactly is that ‘very lethal mercenary’ Tyler?
“Why not another book?” Reality asked.
Another book would be irrelevant. Don’t you consider context?
I think you meant sword control measures, anyway. Which just goes to show that if people don’t have a gun, they’ll use a sword (or a knife).
“Another book would be irrelevant.” – I meant another book of the bible. No less irrelevant than another chapter, as you demonstrated.
“Don’t you consider context?” – yeah, that’s why I questioned the relevancy of you citing something totally unrelated.
“I think you meant sword control measures, anyway.” – why?
“Which just goes to show that if people don’t have a gun, they’ll use a sword (or a knife)” – yes, and they’ll generally cause a lot less deaths as has been demonstrated in China more than once in recent times.
Wassamatter Jon, all the kids run away from sunday school on the other thread? ;-)
Reality, another book of the Bible would be less relevant than a passage in the same book immediately following the passage we are talking about.
And I still think better Reality control measures are the right solution here. :)
Jon, the verses you cited (or recited) were totally unrelated to the verses that I responded to.
because you’re a man and not a woman?
What are you on about?
yup. That’s the word of the Lord.
