Celeb trainer: pregnancy can make women “look better than ever”
It’s a tough time, and a lot of women feel like it’s a huge mountain to climb to get back, but… [p]regnancy is actually an opportunity for women to look better than ever.

“I believe a girl can have a baby every year and become more beautiful — have a better figure and a lovelier complexion — with each newborn. I am living proof of my theory.” — Jayne Mansfield.
To which my wife replied, “Yeah, if you have a personal trainer, and a personal chef, and a nanny, and…”
It takes us non celebs a tad longer than Madonna, Jennifer, Gwyneth and Kim.
:)
I think she is absolutely right. I’ve had 4 kids and I feel and look better than I ever did.
Reminds me of that old joke where the patient asks the doctor, “Will I be able to play the piano after the operation?”
“Of course,” replies the doctor.
“That’s great!” the patient responds. “I could never play before!”

I get what this is trying to say, and I appreciate the sentiment that pregnancy and motherhood need not be scary on even the most superficial levels, but I’d rather see a well-rounded push towards encouraging and supporting women in caring for their mental, emotional, and physical health in the early post-pregnancy months. Healthy, happy people usually do “look better,” but they look better because they are happy and healthy, not because they are trying to look better.
I have mixed feelings about this.
Mostly positive, we welcome this sort of encouragement being offered to the new mothers.
But I am a bit troubled by the environment of a society that encourages women to put too much emphasis on their external appearance as a measure of their self-worth.
But young women have always concerned themselves with attractiveness and beauty (just going overboard in this recent age of female objectification). So perhaps this encouragement is more needed now than ever before.
I hope Tracy Anderson has her own life more put together than the listed lady-objects whom she works for.

LOL. Interestingly, enough, the Simpsons have covered this joke. See 0:48 on this video.
Hey, JDC, did you go to Hollywood Upstairs Medical College too?
There is a Simpsons quote for every situation.
“MMmm, McGuyver..” LOL, any excuse to quote Marge’s sisters!
