Abortion proponents alarmed by “new frontier” in pro-life laws
The new frontier in abortion restriction is writing laws governing why women are allowed to terminate their pregnancies. And they’re more popular than you might think….
So-called “motivation bans” have started small and without much controversy; at the federal level, a bill known as PRENDA aims to outlaw abortion based on the race or sex of the fetus and would allow parental or spousal intervention to stop a woman from aborting her pregnancy. Even though the bill nakedly sucks a**, the prospect of outlawing sex-selective abortion is a popular one — according to LifeSite News, more than 75% of Americans say they’d support a ban on the practice….
Earlier this year, the push to expand the list of “unacceptable reasons to have an abortion” to include fetal abnormality intensified. At a Catholic Church-sponsored conference this January, the anti-choice Family Research Council… devoted an entire day to discussing motivations of parents who chose abortion because of a genetic defect like Down Syndrome, and how the Faithful can fight for laws aiming to prevent the termination of these pregnancies.

Ha ha ha ha. Excuse the chuckle. Sticky situation for pro-aborts and I love to see them squirm. If they defend abortion for fetal anomaly or sex selection then they look like colossal jerks who want to kill the disabled or hypocrites who are allowing war to be waged on females exclusively. But if they admit that abortion shouldn’t be performed for these arbitrary reasons they’re admitting that there is something wrong with abortion and that there is worth to the fetus even if the mother doesn’t agree. They’re admitting bodily autonomy does not trump all reasons for aborting and it opens the door to banning all abortions.
What to do, what to do. Quite a quandary they find themselves in.

Not really. We defend the right of a woman to have an abortion for any reason. Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy – the removal of a fetus. And that’s quite different from killing the disabled as the disabled are full “persons” under the law. Fetuses aren’t – even in deeply red, deeply Christian, and deeply pro-life Mississippi. Ha,ha,ha, ha.

Personally I don’t think laws prohibiting abortions for specific reasons (ie. gender selective) will be effective. How can you ever know the real reason for the abortion – a woman who wants one will say what ever she needs to in order to get one and the abortionist won’t exactly be concerned about the truth/real reason.
Either abortion is OK or it’s not. In all cases.
There is something strangely self-defeating about feminists defending the selective abortion of female children. The whole purpose of having a set of persons called ‘feminists’ who speak for the whole female gender (since we can’t be allowed to speak for ourselves) is to prevent things harmful to women. Selectively killing prenatal women cannot help but do harm also to those women allowed to be born. Women are not an option. We are part of the human race. By not allowing gender-selection abortions, women’s humanity will be affirmed.

My pregnancies terminated October 24, 2006 and March 15, 2012 with the removal of two male fetuses. Not abortions though CC. Abortion is KILLING the fetus. That is why they call the birth of a live baby after an abortion attempt a “failed abortion”. They also call it the ”dreaded complication”.
I’m glad you know where you stand on this issue. Many on your side are not as sure as you.

I’m thinkin CC might be a sociopath. Her imaginary abortion and the way she laughs about it. Abortion might be a laughing matter for you CC but it is still considered a difficult choice for many and it carries a serious aftermath. You arent making mention of the women who kill themselves after abortion or the women who turn to drugs and alcohol after abortion. I guess YOU HATE women as much as you HATE LOATHE and DESPISE children. GOD help you! May he have mercy on your soul.
