BREAKING: 30-month undercover investigation exposes Planned Parenthood’s trafficking of baby parts

2015-07-14_0613

The pro-life undercover group Center for Medical Progress today began revealing findings of a deep undercover investigation:

The Human Capital project is a 30-month-long investigative journalism study… documenting how Planned Parenthood sells the body parts of aborted babies. Citizen journalists at CMP spent two-and-a-half years logging thousands of research hours to painstakingly gather hundreds of hours of undercover footage, dozens of eye-witness testimonies, and nearly two hundred pages of primary source documents.

The investigation included attending five top abortion industry conventions – with undercover video cameras.

CMP investigators found Planned Parenthood is involved in buying and selling aborted baby body parts, which is a federal felony – and while attempting to retrieve those body parts intact sometimes commits partial birth abortions, which is also a federal felony offense and illegal in several states as well.

Other findings to be revealed down the road will expose Planned Parenthood illegalities with government funding, but today’s blockbuster and truly gut-wrenching video shows Planned Parenthood Federation of America Senior Director of Medical Services, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, casually chowing down on salad and drinking wine while describing what body parts she personally retrieves while committing late-term abortions…

In the video, Nucatola pictured right, is at a business lunch with CMP actors posing as buyers from a human biologics company.

As head of PPFA’s Medical Services department, Nucatola has overseen medical practice at all Planned Parenthood locations since 2009. She also trains new Planned Parenthood abortion doctors and performs abortions herself as Associate Medical Director of Planned Parenthood Los Angeles up to 24 weeks.

The buyers ask Nucatola, “How much of a difference can that actually make, if you know kind of what’s expected, or what we need?”

“It makes a huge difference,” Nucatola replies. “I’d say a lot of people want liver. And for that reason, most providers will do this case under ultrasound guidance, so they’ll know where they’re putting their forceps. The kind of rate-limiting step of the procedure is calvarium. Calvarium - the head - is basically the biggest part.”

Nucatola explains, “We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part, I’m gonna basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact.”

dx4“And with the calvarium, in general, some people will actually try to change the presentation so that it’s not vertex,” she continues. “So if you do it starting from the breech presentation, there’s dilation that happens as the case goes on, and often, the last step, you can evacuate an intact calvarium at the end.”

Using ultrasound guidance to manipulate the fetus from vertex to breech orientation before intact extraction is the hallmark of the illegal partial-birth abortion procedure (18 U.S.C. 1531).

Nucatola also reveals that Planned Parenthood’s national office is concerned about their liability for the sale of fetal parts: “At the national office, we have a Litigation and Law Department which just really doesn’t want us to be the middle people for this issue right now,” she says. “But I will tell you that behind closed doors these conversations are happening with the affiliates.”

The sale or purchase of human fetal tissue a federal felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $500,000 (42 U.S.C. 289g-2).

A separate clip shows Planned Parenthood President and CEO Cecile Richards praising Nucatola’s work to facilitate connections for fetal tissue collection. “Oh good,” Richards says when told about Nucatola’s support for fetal tissue collection at Planned Parenthood, “Great. She’s amazing.”

Lila Rose, CEO of pro-life organization Live Action, which has also conducted numerous hard-hitting investigations of Planned Parenthood through the years, released this statement:

This investigation by the Center for Medical Progress reveals the unimaginable horror that is Planned Parenthood. The exploitation of human life, the cover-up, and the black market profiteering by America’s largest abortion chain is not only egregious and heartbreaking, but exposes how the abortion giant is corrupt to the core - from the CEO, Cecile Richards, down to the local clinic. As Live Action has investigated through the years, Planned Parenthood’s barbaric practices reveal their contempt for rule of law and human life. This latest expose of Planned Parenthood’s trafficking of baby parts for profit should be the final nail in the coffin for the abortion giant. Congress must take immediate action to stop all taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood and end the bankrolling of this horrific human rights abuser.

Pro-lifers, please spread this information far and wide. The official hashtag is #PPSellsBabyParts. Be sure to tag liberally @PPact and @CecileRichards.

Also, a reminder, comments are turned off here now. Please do feel free to make comments at my Facebook post on this.

Pro-life blog buzz 6-26-15

pro-lifeby Susie Allen, host of the blog, Pro-Life in TN, and Kelli

A parting note from Susie:

I have co-authored the Blog Buzz (formerly called Proliferations) for five years. Time flies when you are having fun. I can think of no better movement to dedicate your life to than protecting the sanctity of all human life. Congratulations to Jill as she starts on a new venture in a new season of her life. I have learned so much from contributing to this blog and hope the readers will look for ways they too can take a stand for life in their own sphere of influence. As Jill did not seek the spotlight years ago, she did not shrink from the cause when it came to her. Look what she has done! We all have a sphere of influence and a talent. How exciting to see what we can do when we use our God-given talents. You may surprise yourself. Join the cause and press on.

For Life,
Susie Allen

  • Pro-Life Action League’s vigilance found that National Health Care, an abortion facility in Peoria, Illinois, has been sold to Whole Woman’s Health, a Texas abortion chain:

In a letter sent to the IDPH on May 27, NHC administrator Margaret Van Duyn says, referring to Whole Woman’s, “They provide the same quality of care that we do” — which is to say, the same low-quality care. Take, for example, the Whole Woman’s abortion facility in Austin, from which three (3) women were transported by ambulance during a one-month period in 2012. What’s more, as documented by our friends at AbortionDocs.org, the Whole Woman’s Austin and McAllen facilities were also fined a total of $40,000 in 2011 for illegal disposal of the remains of aborted children, as well as private medical records.

abortionpilldrone

  • ProLifeBlogs shares a post from Lake County Right to Life regarding the newest venture of Women on Waves, an abortion advocacy group specializing in bringing abortion to women in countries where it is banned. Their latest plan: Using a drone to drop abortion pills in Poland. No doctor visit, not even a webcam consultation. Just RU-486 from the sky, cross your fingers, and hope that nothing goes wrong when taking chemical abortifacients without medical supervision. The pills are supposed to be suitable only for pregnancies up to nine weeks. What could possibly go wrong?
  • Saynsumthn’s Blog meticulously documents the heavy involvement of eugenics proponent Jonathan Gruber in the crafting of Obamacare – despite the fact that so many in the Obama Administration acted as if they’d barely heard of him. He pocketed $400k for his consultations with the administration. What is significant is that Gruber, as part of his eugenic views, supports abortion as a means to achieve his goal of saving welfare money by eliminating more children of color. Perhaps #BlackLivesMatter to this administration only when it’s politically expedient?
  • Wesley J. Smith believes that there is a media effort underway “to make suicide more palatable and normalized – at least for some categories of people.” The new AP Stylebook used by journalists recommends avoidance of the term “committed suicide” unless a direct authority is being quoted. Why? Smith opines:

My theory – call it Smith on media bias – is that advocates convinced AP that using the word “committed” – even though accurate, as it means to intentionally perform an act – implied a negative judgment about that act. And that conflicts with the drive to make at least some suicides more palatable generally – or to put it the other way around – that not all suicides are bad or wrong. In short, this is a political act – not the first by AP in this regard, heck, not even the second – and it won’t be the last.

mega-center-release-graphic

  • Americans United for Life has just released a must-read, comprehensive report showing how Planned Parenthood has built a lucrative business model from ending human lives – and we, the taxpayers, are helping them to do so with our tax dollars. “The New Leviathan” details how the billion-dollar abortion profiteer has increased its profits and market share, even as fewer U.S. women seek abortions:

Unlike the national trend observed by the Associated Press last week, the Centers for Disease Control, and everywhere else that abortions are on the decline, at Planned Parenthood abortion sales are up – meanwhile its overall patients and other services are down. This is as a result of a move to create abortion mega-centers to mass-produce abortions at an even deadlier rate.

Pro-life vid of the day: One word – “Abortion”

Abortion-1by Kelli

A parting note from Kelli:

Fifteen years ago, I heard Jill Stanek, who was still relatively unknown at the time, tell her story about her experiences at Christ Hospital. At the time, I was operating a pregnancy resource center. I never imagined that one day, years later, I’d stumble upon her blog, become a regular reader and commenter, and then one day become the administrative assistant and editor of her blog.

It’s been a privilege and an honor to work here for six years, getting to know so many dedicated readers and volunteers who give of themselves to help advance the pro-life message. This blog wouldn’t be what it was and is without ALL of you, so thank you! And thank you most of all to Jill for giving me this opportunity and for believing that I could learn what I needed to know to do my job effectively, even when I didn’t believe it myself. :)

Love to all of you.

No matter what the political talking heads would like to claim, women can’t be put into a box labeled “women voters” or “women’s issues” so easily. This video of women reacting to one word – “abortion” – says so much… not necessarily from what is said, but from how it is said.

The difference between the women who support abortion and those that don’t seems stark to me, as I watch the faces of the women responding. I see pain, I see compassion, and I see defiance. I often wonder if that defiance really serves to mask wounds that fester beneath the surface of the psyche.

Does every woman have her own reasons for abortion? Yes. But does this then mean abortion is “none of our business”?

If you are hurting from a past abortion, please reach out to your local pregnancy resource center or to a group like Rachel’s Vineyard.

If you are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy and need to speak to someone who can help, please go to Option Line, call 1-800-712-4357, or text “HELPLINE” to 313131.

Thanks for the (blog) memories

“Who’s Jill Stanek?” Carder and Jill

That’s the question I asked myself one day as I surfed the web for pro-life news and the name Jill Stanek kept popping up. Fascinated by the rowdy debates, I knew I had found my pro-life online hangout.

This was back in 2007. Thanks to Jill, I learned about Obama before Obama became Dear Leader Obama. The connections I’ve made with committed pro-lifers, and for that matter, committed pro-choicers, remain a great memory.

Like the night MK, Carla, Hal, Jasper, Doug, and a few others had an all night thread/party that ended the following morning, with pictures of mayhem and ridiculousness rounding out an incredible bonding experience for all involved. Hal just couldn’t stop chugging those mojitos…

Or the curious case of Who the Heck is SOMG? For those of you who are newer, SOMG, later to be revealed as Theodore Shulman, was an online troll who claimed to be an abortionist at one time and eventually landed in jail for his threats against prominent pro-life activists, Jill among them. We uncovered quite a bit about his family’s sordid legacy.

mikkiOr those Quotes of the Day that unleashed the fury from the likes of Mikki Kendall (pictured left)? We’re talking the wrath of vipers, folks.

I had the privilege of drinking coffee with Jill during a couple of her Florida vacations. Plus, I got to meet a major mover/shaker commenter of the blog, MaryKay a.k.a. MK. It was her and several others that made the blog more than just a pro-life website. Like a Pro-life Cafe, folks could come in, chat, argue, provoke, explain, argue some more, and talk about anything under the sun. And I mean anything.
Florida coffee

Tip of the hat to all of you; to name everyone would take entirely more blog space than I think Jill would permit. Thank you for your patience, those of you who put up with my tech issues, and thank you all for your blog contributions.

Give me a buzz the next time you’re in Florida, Jill.

Peace,
Carder

Bristol Palin announces pregnancy

palinby Carder

I know this has been, and will be, a huge disappointment to my family, to my close friends, and to many of you.

But please respect Tripp’s and my privacy during this time. I do not want any lectures and I do not want any sympathy.

My little family always has, and always will come first.

Tripp, this new baby, and I will all be fine, because God is merciful.

Pro-life vid of the day: Facing the truth about abortion

A parting note from Hans:

I have always been pro-life. At least since I learned where babies come from, whenever that was. I believe I heard of Jill’s moving experience as a nurse cradling a baby left to die even before her appearance with Bill O’Reilly. I eventually stumbled upon this blog and sparred with other commenters and, I’d like to think, made friends, especially with xalisae and Deluded Lib Pro-Lifer (thanks for making me write that).

I was surprised and honored three years ago to be asked to help out with the Pro-life Videos of the Day. I thank Kelli for coaching me through the process of posting, and for being such a terrific editor. I certainly needed one. I also thank LauraLoo for her input and support, and most especially Jill. I know she will continue to have a great impact on the pro-life movement in her new leading role.

I will continue to do my little part as well. Thanks to you all.

Your friend in the Fight for Life,

Hans

In its ongoing Killers Among Us project, Created Equal alerts communities to the abortions occurring right in their own neighborhoods, using postcards and the Truth Truck billboard display (photo right). Currently they are exposing the contract between the  Wright State Physicians (WSP) group and  Martin Haskell’s Women’s Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio.

Haskell, infamous for  popularizing partial birth abortion (banned since 2003) and inspiring Kermit Gosnell’s deadly technique, would have to close the doors of his clinic  were it not for the support given by the WSP. A variance to their transfer agreement covers his ability to continue killing (younger) pre-born babies.

As always with telling hard truths, there are some in these communities who direct their anger at the messenger instead of at the perpetrator. Says Mark Harrington, National Director of Created Equal: “Residents ought to be more concerned about the children being killed down the road at this Kettering abortion facility than they are their children seeing abortion. Outrage ought to be directed at those perpetrating the crime, not the ones trying to end it.”

Abortion pushers on clinic violence: “Destroying persons” wrong

maggiemoranNARALby Kelli

As Cahill stated in her victim impact statement, “Destroying persons, places, property because of a difference in belief is called TERRORISM… Zachary [Klundt] systematically destroyed my property, my profession, my plans for the future and, I feel quite sure he would have destroyed me if I had happened to show up at my office when he was in it. The feeling of hate in my destroyed office was palpable.” We cannot turn a blind eye to the real terrors experienced by [abortion] providers like Susan Cahill.

Even without anti-choice laws in place in Montana limiting abortion, we are seeing access decrease around the state. Of all the compounding factors limiting abortion access (and there are many), the loss of a clinic to violence is surely the most difficult to bear.

… For over a year, more than 400 Flathead Valley residents have been without their primary healthcare provider. That, in and of itself, is a horrible circumstance which Klundt created when he destroyed the clinic. But even beyond Susan, beyond her patients, beyond Kalispell or even Montana, this destruction has an insidious effect on abortion access because it creates a climate of fear in the medical community.

[W]e need to push back against this climate of fear and create safe spaces for medical professionals to talk about abortion access, it’s legitimacy in the medical field, how we can support abortion providers, and how we can ultimately increase access to this necessary, and legal, medical procedure.

Pro-life vid of the day: The womb is a preborn’s castle

It’s summer, so what better time to make a sandcastle? Well, you’ll feel quite inadequate at this activity if you attend the Hampton Beach Sand Sculpture Competition. In the midst of the short rocky shoreline of New Hampshire is this very short stretch of beach, attracting artists from around the world.

This year’s winner was Karen Fralich of Ontario, Canada, with the sculpture “Life”, in honor of a friend who became a father.
