  • A Pennsylvania man attacked and tried to kill his girlfriend after demanding she get an abortion. From the Express-Times:

Jashua Kinch-Rodriguez, 24, approached Jessenia Rosario about 9 p.m. Friday as she pulled into her apartment in the 100 block of South 12th Street, police said.

Kinch-Rodriguez started arguing with her as she sat in her car’s seat, demanding she abort the baby and calling her a “whore,” according to court records. He then punched Rosario in the stomach and genitals with an open fist while screaming at her and threatening to kill her, police said. He also allegedly closed the car door on her legs.

After Kinch-Rodriguez walked away, Rosario got out of the car and started going up the stairs to her second-floor apartment, where four other people were already inside, police said. Kinch-Rodriguez then produced a gun and started firing several shots into the apartment, nearly striking Rosario, according to court documents.

Stanek weekend question: How do you want to be remembered?

Yesterday came the tragic news that young pro-lifer Andrew Moore, age 20, (not my son-in-law) of Concord, California, was struck and killed by a car while walking in Indiana as part of the Crossroads summer sojourn to raise awareness against abortion. Reported LifeNews.com:

At the time of his death, Moore, a Catholic, was reportedly praying the rosary.

Moore was participating in the Crossroads Walk Across America – five separate, simultaneous journeys of college students traversing the U.S. and Canada in defense of the unborn. A rising junior from Concord, California, Moore was part of the Central Walk, which began in San Francisco on May 19 and will conclude in Washington, D.C., on August 9.

  • Moral Outcry writes that California environmentalists are fighting to halt an infected tree’s destruction – a tree that lives in front of a San Fernando Valley hospital which performs “therapeutic” abortions on preborn children with abnormalities. Like the Roe decision, the tree is 40 years old.

  • An Australian woman who had an RU-486 abortion has died from complications:

Little is known about the circumstances of her death or even where she died, but she had been treated at a Marie Stopes clinic.

A statement from Marie Stopes International confirmed that sepsis caused the death.

  • Bookmark this from RH Reality Check to respond to claims that “no one likes abortion”:

I love abortion. I don’t accept it. I don’t view it as a necessary evil. I embrace it.

I donate to abortion funds. I write about how important it is to make sure that every woman has access to safe, legal abortion services. I have bumper stickers and buttons and t-shirts proclaiming my support for reproductive freedom. I love abortion.
