  • Pro-Life Action League has filed a formal complaint demanding an investigation into the death of 24-year-old Tonya Reaves at Chicago Planned Parenthood clinic:

While normally, such violations of professional medical standards would be reported to the Illinois Department of Public Health, all Illinois Planned Parenthood facilities are unlicensed. As a result, any investigation relating to sub-standard medical care on their part is entrusted to [the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation].

  • Sharp eyes at Moral Outcry found, while doing research on the release of former Susan G. Komen employee Karen Handel’s new book, Planned Bullyhood, that the pink Komen bibles marketed (and then removed) by LifeWay last year were mistakenly on sale again. LifeWay has been notified and has corrected this error.

Susan Tyrrell also details how the explosive news about Komen’s attempt to cease funding for Planned Parenthood was discovered last year.

Rep calls for House hearing on Planned Parenthood following death

The chairman of the U.S. House committee conducting an investigation of Planned Parenthood is now calling for a public hearing in light of the death of Tonya Reaves last week after a second-trimester abortion at a Chicago Planned Parenthood.

Congressman Cliff Stearns, Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, told Fox News Planned Parenthood has been stonewalling his investigation, and he now wants to “put them under oath”:

Planned Parenthood and Barack Obama both responsible for death of Tonya Reaves

Over the weekend the mainstream media was surprisingly forthcoming in reporting the tragic death of a mother following her second trimester abortion at a Chicago Planned Parenthood, revealing her name, age, and the name of her surviving son. Also sad was news that she had an identical twin. From CBS Chicago:

Tonya Reaves, 24, died late Friday night from a hemorrhage, with a cervical dilation and evacuation, as well as an intrauterine pregnancy as contributing causes, according to the medical examiner’s office.

She died after she’d had an abortion at Planned Parenthood at 18 S. Michigan Av, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Her death was ruled an accident, but the Reaves family wants to know more, especially Tonya’s twin sister Toni.

“We were born the same day. She was my other half,” Toni said….

Toni Reaves said her sister was engaged to be married and had one son – Alvin – who just had his first birthday.

The Daily Mail went so far as to (sort of) describe the type of abortion procedure Reaves underwent:

Court overturns Blagojevich’s order forcing pharmacies to sell emergency contraceptives

I’ve been tracking this case with antipathy for 6 years. On April 1, 2005, then-Gov. Rod Blagojevich stood flanked by NARAL President Nancy Keenan (in above photo, left), then-President of Planned Parenthood Karen Pearl (partially seen behind his shoulder), and then-President of Chicago Planned Parenthood Steve Trombley (far right), among other local and national pro-abort […]
