Pro-life blog buzz 5-26-15

  • Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life says the MN Senate has rejected a proposed law to require abortion facilities to be licensed and inspected. The safety of women clearly isn’t as important as that of dogs and cats:

“Abortion centers perform invasive, outpatient surgery,” said MCCL Legislative Director Andrea Rau. “It makes no sense that these surgical centers should be excluded from the health and safety standards that apply to other outpatient surgical centers. This bill is necessary for us to ensure that the very unsafe conditions uncovered in other states never happen in Minnesota….

The state licenses tattoo parlors, cosmetology salons and even dog and cat breeders — but not abortion facilities,” Rau added. “It is time for this special exemption for abortion to end so that the state can ensure a degree of basic safety for women.”

Columnist: Christians are at risk of “adapting” to accept abortion

by Kelli … [W]hen Christians take offense at the suggestion that deeply held religious beliefs must change so that women can access abortion, they may be failing to appreciate the tenuous nature of their pro-life hegemony. Not only is [Hillary] Clinton’s suggestion not absurd, recent history tells us it’s completely plausible…. Ten years ago, the […]

Sunday Word: “The real battle is Christ vs Mohammad”

ISLAM_-_CRISTIANESIMO

A great deal of blather has been expended on “the defense of our values.” This plays right into the fanatics’ hands, for they know we don’t have any….

Perhaps the most discouraging thing, in our inaptly captioned “war on terror,” is the response that can be elicited from the West’s real fools: those who say “this is not about Islam,” when even they know perfectly well it is about Islam and nothing else.

New Stanek poll: “In terms of religious views, I would prefer to marry a…”

I have a new poll question up:

In terms of religious views, I would prefer to marry a… “

This question occurred to me when reading tweets yesterday by RH Reality Check editor Jodi Jacobson, who claimed there is no difference between fanatical Muslims and Christian pro-lifers.

Jodi will likely find my question offensive and misogynist, but I really did wonder if she was so obtuse as to think there would be no difference in the treatment she would receive as a woman from a man who is a Christian and one who is a Muslim.

Conversely, do men really want slave wives?

Pro-life blog buzz 1-9-15

  • Life Training Institute shares an article from The Failed Atheist on the oft-heard saying regarding a pregnancy: “Just as long as it’s healthy.” Of course everyone wants a healthy baby, but what does the Christian faith say about loving those who have less than perfect health?

This is not a normal way to view ones children but part of a dehumanizing culture that has made an idol out of health and wellbeing. We have trouble understanding that someone who may be in poor health or have a disability can be happy, our assumption is that those things equal a sub-par human existence which is not necessarily true. You do not need to be a healthy human being to be a good, influential or heroic one….

Editor of pro-abortion website claims there’s no difference between Islamic terrorists and Christian pro-lifers

Jodi Jacobson, editor-in-chief of the pro-abortion website RH Reality Check, claimed today on Twitter there is no difference between Islamic terrorists and Christian pro-lifers, as documented by blackcommunitynews.com.

As displayed at the bottom of bcn’s post, Jodi and I got into it a bit as well…

What started it all was this tweet by Jodi….
