Does God want Noah to commit infanticide in the upcoming movie?

noahI’m reading the new book, Noah: The Real Story, my interest piqued on the topic in large part due to all the chatter about the upcoming movie, Noah, opening March 28.

The movie has a blockbuster budget of $130 million and features a stellar cast: Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Anthony Hopkins, and Emma Watson.

Very few people have read the script or seen the movie, but the book I’m reading includes a summary by movie critic Brian Godawa of a script he read in the fall of 2013.

Potential spoiler alert…

So in that version of the script there was an infanticide element. Quoting from the book:

Stanek wkend Q: How will Supreme Court rule on contraception mandate case?

constitution-with-birth-control-375x250Backdrop from CNN, November 26:

The high-stakes fight over implementing parts of the troubled health care reform law will move to the US Supreme Court in coming months, in a dispute involving coverage for contraceptives and religious liberty.

The justices agreed on Tuesday to review provisions in the Affordable Care Act requiring employers of a certain size to offer insurance coverage for birth control and other reproductive health services [including sterilization] without a co-pay.

At issue is whether private companies can refuse to do so on the claim it violates their religious beliefs.

  • At Coming Home, Dr. Gerard Nadal shares some thoughts on the abortion industry’s opposition to admitting privileges and certification for abortionists:

… [D]o we see the surgeons militating for lower standards of care, less accountability, no admitting privileges? These are the truly essential, not optional, lifesaving surgeries.

And what of the cosmetic surgeons, whose procedures are elective? Do we see them militating for lower standards of accountability?

Why is it that the abortion lobby consistently militates for lower standards of care, of accountability?…

Wasn’t this supposed to be about taking abortions out of the hands of butchers and providing the highest standard of care for women?

Stanek Sunday quote: “I have an obligation to all, the civilized and the savage”

You must remember, my friends, that many times I have planned to visit you, but something has always kept me from doing so. I want to win converts among you also, as I have among other Gentiles. For I have an obligation to all peoples, to the civilized and to the savage, to the educated […]

  • Clinic Quotes pulls a quote from the wayback machine (1976) showing the mindset of the people who make their living performing abortions. A director of nursing from an abortion facility is quoted:

In some ways it is very boring, these abortions — the same thing day after day. In fact the nurses are excited about complications because it’s something different.

BREAKING: Biola apologizes, endorses use of graphic abortion images

imageBiola president Dr. Barry Corey, pictured right, has issued a public letter of apology for retaliatory actions staff members of his Christian university took against pro-life student Diana Jimenez in June for showing graphic images of abortion on campus:

For actions on our part that were perceived to be heavy-handed and retaliatory, I have apologized to her and stand by this apology publicly. I acknowledge and regret our errors, and steps have been taken to correct them….

In so many ways, Diana is the kind of student with the deep Christian convictions I hoped to see when I came to Biola six years ago. In her convictions about saving the unborn, she represents what Biola is about—the desire to speak up against injustices that break the heart of God. Like Diana, Biola is and has been passionately pro-life.

A campus security guard was caught on video threatening to have Jimenez arrested, and the director of the nursing program, Dr. Susan Elliott, ordered her staff not to write letters of recommendation on Jimenez’s behalf.

by JivinJ, host of the blog, JivinJehoshaphat At First Things, Christopher Kaczor writes about the gradualist development of the right to life and why we should reject it: We should reject, for example, the analogy between the gradual development of a right to life and the gradual attainment of other rights. There is a radical […]

  • Delaware Online is covering Delaware Right to Life’s call for an investigation into a Delaware Planned Parenthood abortion clinic where 3 patients have been taken away by ambulance in the last month. The article also mentions the assault on Rae Stabosz:

Delaware Right to Life officials are calling for an investigation and eventual closing of the Planned Parenthood operation on Shipley Street, saying members of their group have witnessed three patients being taken by ambulance from the clinic in just over a month’s time.

A fourth woman, who had returned to the clinic after complications from an abortion five days earlier, was accompanied to the emergency room by an anti-abortion sidewalk counselor, said Nicole Collins, president of Delaware Right to Life. That counselor told group officials that part of the fetus had been left inside the woman’s uterus, Collins said.
