  • Fr. Frank Pavone publishes an open letter to President Obama on Inauguration Day, protesting Obama’s “unwillingness to recognize [preborn children’s] equal dignity” and his “unrelenting attack on religious freedom and on the institution of marriage.”
  • Kansans for Life has more information on plans to reopen George Tiller’s infamous abortion clinic in Wichita.

Who’s up for another star-studded pro-choice video?

The Center for Reproductive Rights blurs countries and causes, so where one woman in Kenya can’t take her baby home because she’s in debt for the delivery, this is compared to America being hostile to very late-term abortions in the former George Tiller clinic in Kansas… The Center’s staffers were quite clear they wanted to […]

Former Tiller intern: Abortion can be a radical act of love

I see being a doula as a political act and I believe that abortion, pregnancy, and childbirth can be a radical act of love and resistance. I’ve held the hands of thousands of people during their abortions and the compassion and love that I’ve witnessed while supporting someone during their abortion has shaped the kind […]

  • Kristin Neuhaus, a former abortionist and rubber-stamper for abortionist George Tiller owes $93,000 to the state board for her various attempts to keep her medical license.
  • Speaking of Tiller and Neuhaus, the leader of a pro-abortion organization in Kansas with ties to Tiller has purchased his former clinic and aims to make it an abortion clinic again:

Burkhart declined to discuss the details of the sale, but property tax records available online list the appraised value of the property as $734,100. Burkhart said she can’t say yet exactly when the new clinic will open or how many doctors will work there….

In a recent advertisement circulated by email to abortion-rights supporters, Trust Women said it was looking for medical staff experienced in first and early-second trimester abortions and planned to open its clinic between mid-November and January 2013.

The media’s strangely subdued reporting on Family Research Council shooter

I was camping yesterday morning when a friend alerted me via Twitter on my iPhone there had been a shooting at Family Research Council headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Frightened for my friends, I began scanning Google for news reports. Ten minutes later the first story popped up, stating an FRC security guard had been shot in the arm, and the shooter had been arrested.

A bit relieved, I went ahead with a planned day trip, tuning in to news radio in the truck to keep up with the latest. Nada.

  • The Indianapolis Star has a puff piece on Planned Parenthood of Indiana CEO Betty Cockrum.
  • The Kansas State Board of Healing Arts has revoked the medical license of late abortionist George Tiller’s one-time “rubber stamper” abortionist, Ann Neuhaus:

The administrative judge concluded in February that Neuhaus performed inadequate mental health exams in 2003 on 11 patients, aged 10 to 18. The judge said Neuhaus’ records didn’t contain the information necessary to show that she did thorough exams, and the patients’ care was “seriously jeopardized.”

“Her actions clearly show a disregard for her patients’ safety and care, which causes her to be a threat to any future patients she might have,” said Reese Hays, the attorney on the board’s litigation team who presented the case against Neuhaus.

  • Secular Pro-Life shares the story of one reader who chose open adoption for her baby girl – no thanks to Planned Parenthood:

I was expecting a physical exam and some pamphlets discussing my options. I was wrong. The woman at the desk told me that unless I wanted to terminate, there was little they would do for me. With my insurance, I could be “rid of my problem” for $8 by noon the next day. I told her I was not there for an abortion, just prenatal care. She told me prenatal care was not offered at the clinic; I would need to go to a regular clinic. The young woman instead found the adoption option presented to her at a local Birthright pregnancy resource center.

Unprecedented: Five Kansas Supreme Court justices recuse themselves in Kline case

Read my previous post here.

Only four days after former Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline filed a blistering motion asking that two Kansas Supreme Court justices recuse themselves from deciding whether to suspend his law license, the Supremes announced yesterday that FIVE of the seven would be doing so.

Their rationale, according to the The Topeka Capital-Journal:
