• Culture Campaign reports that Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring has ruled that Planned Parenthood and other health professionals will no longer be obligated to report statutory rape except when the perpetrator is believed to be the girl’s parent or legal guardian. For those who thought that electing this man along with Clinton crony Terry McAuliffe as VA’s governor was a “pro-woman” idea, you are seeing the fruits of your labor: no one will be expected to help these children. • On the 34th anniversary of China’s One-Child Policy, Reggie Littlejohn of Women’s Rights Without Frontiers pens an open letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping in which she minces no words about the law’s brutality:
  

  The One Child Policy causes more violence against women and girls than any other official policy on earth.

  The One Child Policy is China’s war on women. Any discussion of women’s rights, or human rights, would be a charade if forced abortion in China is not front and center. It does not matter whether you are pro-life or pro-choice on this issue. No one supports forced abortion, because it is not a choice.

• Wesley J. Smith responds to the recent Washington Post opinion piece opposing the use of the phrase “difficult decision” to describe abortion:
  

  With this kind of advocacy increasing, it is clear now that pro-abortionists also want Roe v. Wade overturned. Why? Roe permitted limits. In contrast – as I have written – a ruling that protects abortion as necessary to protect sexual equality would permit abortion through the ninth month – if not beyond – with the only regulations permitted being those required for basic sanitation.

  After that, the next step would be to require free abortion, either paid by the state or required as coverage under Obamacare. Pro-abortionists believe that women won’t really be free until they are guaranteed the right to a dead fetus.

If you didn’t know what was going on inside pro-abortion world, the Huffington Post piece Planned Parenthood Executive VP Dawn Laguens posted on July 30 in response to the July 28 New York Times article, “Advocates shun ‘pro-choice’ to expand message,” would seem out of left field.

As I explained in a blog last week, the NYT article simply elaborated on a decision Planned Parenthood made 18 months ago to abandon the term “pro-choice” as antiquated.

• At Life Training Institute, Clinton Wilcox addresses the controversy surrounding Marco Rubio’s recent assertion that life at conception is “settled science.” The Washington Post decided to do a “fact check” on Rubio’s claim – or did they? Wilcox writes:
  

  In order to “look at the science” on the abortion issue, Philip Bump, the author of the Washington Post article, reached out to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. This was the statement they returned to him: “Government agencies and American medical organizations agree that the scientific definition of pregnancy and the legal definition of pregnancy are the same: pregnancy begins upon the implantation of a fertilized egg into the lining of a woman’s uterus. This typically takes place, if at all, between 5 and 9 days after fertilization of the egg — which itself can take place over the course of several days following sexual intercourse.”
