  • At Priests for Life, Janet Morana discusses the case of Ariel Knights, who sought (and thought she had) an abortion after she was told her pregnancy was a risk to her life due to uterus didelphys, and her baby survived. Most revealing is that this article on the case minces no words regarding the substandard conditions of the abortion facility and stark facts of the procedure:

When her name was called that March morning a year ago, she walked into a cramped room and climbed onto a table, positioning her lower body above a trash bag. When the doctor finished, Knights, still woozy from being sedated, was handed her things and shown the door.

  • Pro-Life Action League has filed a formal complaint demanding an investigation into the death of 24-year-old Tonya Reaves at Chicago Planned Parenthood clinic:

While normally, such violations of professional medical standards would be reported to the Illinois Department of Public Health, all Illinois Planned Parenthood facilities are unlicensed. As a result, any investigation relating to sub-standard medical care on their part is entrusted to [the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation].

Two dangerous and notorious Michigan abortionists retire

2013-02-04_1118Great news: Two bottom-feeding abortionists in Michigan have retired.

Both Alberto Hodari (top photo) and Enrique Gerbi (bottom photo) allowed their medical and pharmacy licenses to expire as of January 31, 2013 (Hodari here and here [plus pharmacy at four other locations]; Gerbi here and here).

Pro-life activist Lynn Mills first got wind of Hodari’s retirement in December when a receptionist at one of his five Michigan locations let the news slip. Since then Lynn has been watching for his license to lapse, during which time she noticed Gerbi’s was also expiring. Gerbi was a circuit riding abortionist for Hodari, among others.

At his high point Hodari owned 14 Michigan abortion clinics in 1988.

Abortionist Jacob Kalo has purchased two of Hodari’s remaining mills in Sterling Heights and Southfield, and abortionist Theodore Roumell has purchased his mills in Lansing and Flint. Both Kalo and Roumell are quacks in their own right. Hodari’s Livonia dump in Livonia is presently closed “for remodeling” (see photo below left) and at various times has been up for sale. Hopefully, it will be demolished.

Disconnect: Is it ever acceptable to rob children of their lives?

… [T]he vast majority of Americans do not consider children to be vermin. They value children highly and are devastated when children are slaughtered. They just don’t make the connection between the visible child in the playground and the invisible child in the womb….

[Abortion providers] make no connection whatsoever between the child-killing that they devote their lives to and the lives of the baby in the stroller or the second-grader on the playground, any more than a Nazi would make a connection between the Jewish grandmother he’s shoving into a mass grave and his own grandmother.

So we need to take this real value that they place on the children that they can see and work with it.

  • Michael New gives his take on the media’s claim that contraceptive use was the primary contributor to the decrease in 2009 abortion rates. There is no evidence to suggest that contraceptive use increased that year – however, New points out that it was the first year that a majority of Americans identified themselves as pro-life.

  • Reflections of a Paralytic comments on “the petty concerns of American feminists” compared to the concerns of women in other countries:

It’s bad enough that women to want to deny their femininity in the first place by suppressing their fertility and killing their unborn children, but to insist that the public must pay for these things otherwise it’s some kind of violation of our “rights” is, quite frankly, embarrassing to me as a fellow American woman and insulting to women who really are victims of oppressive and inhumane regimes.

If American feminists want to make a big deal about anything “oppressive” in our country, they should really be focusing their attention to our pornified culture and its sexualization of young girls.

  • Moral Outcry wonders why no one raised the issue of the enormous costs of abortion in the first Presidential Debate of 2012:

As a classroom teacher for many years who made anywhere from $27,500 to $40,000, (so let’s average that to $33,750, which is actually very low for a teacher average nationwide, but not too far from starting salaries) I’d like to propose that if we cut Planned Parenthoodfunding for a year we could pay a year’s starting salary to 10,761 new teachers.

  • Pro-Life Action League links to President Obama’s new campaign ad in which he claims to be a defender of religious liberty. With the next wave of nationwide Stand Up for Religious Freedom rallies coming on October 20, surely he realizes how vulnerable he is on this issue due to his HHS contraceptive mandate. Just after 2:00 in the video, he says he stands “on the side of human dignity and a belief in the inherent worth of all human beings,” yet only applies these statements to “education, poverty, and immigration”:
