Pro-life Republicans should “go on offense” on abortion

by Kelli

… [E]very time an anti-abortion candidate opens her mouth on abortion, she can expect her words will be twisted and spun in the worst possible way. This creates an understandable reluctance on the part of many conservative candidates to talk about abortion….

So, what should high-profile, anti-abortion candidates do?

  • The Republican National Committee has passed a resolution asking pro-life politicians to stop being silent on the abortion issue:

“Staying silent fails because this strategy allows Democrats to define the Republican brand,” the resolution said, “and prevents the Republican Party from taking advantage of widely supported pro-life positions… to attract traditional and new values voters.”

Pro-life Catholic blasts liberal bishops’ agenda

BishopsYou liberal bishops have helped create this culture of death directly, by the work of your own hands. Don’t think that the blood of those babies, of those souls that fall into Hell because of their evil sexual practices will not weigh in the scales against you on your judgment day….

You have supported a political system which has brought morality in this country to its knees and made a virtuous life the butt of jokes. Yes, you! Do you think you will escape responsibility for your deeds and their consequences – your sins of omission and commission – what you have done and what you have failed to do?

Kermit Gosnell case: missed opportunity for the Republican party

A lot of conservatives are trying to speak out and are rhetorically asking, “Why isn’t the media covering this?” Well, if we had more Republicans who are actually ready to defend the first God-given right of life, we wouldn’t need the left-wing media to say anything. We’d have it covered. Thanks, Republicans, who don’t have […]

Dems “want to destroy” Republicans because of pro-life positions

Democrats formed the KKK and assassinated Republicans because they hated them so much and they’ve been trying to destroy the Republican Party ever since. Why? Because the Republican Party stood against people forcing someone else to be their subject. Democrats want to destroy the Republican Party because of their pro-life stand. Why? Because the Republican […]

Stanek weekend question: What would your e-card about Obama say?

9/30, 8a: Here’s a good submission by reader David N.:

9/29, 7:13a: Per The Weekly Standard, September 28:

The Obama campaign has created a series of electronic greeting card aimed at women voters. “President Obama summed up the Republican Party’s approach to women’s health when he said ‘they want to take us back to the policies more suited to the 1950s than the 21st century,'” the Obama campaign website reads. “Send an eCard to say you won’t go back.”

Perhaps the oddest card in the series, though, is this one:

which my daughter was good enough to send to me…

  • Culture Campaign reports on a new study from Yale University and City University of New York, which “shows that if the Republican Party abortion platform came to fruition and states could outlaw abortion, not only would the national abortion rate drop, but the rate among non-white Americans would drop the most.”

Some point to this and claim racism on the part of Republicans… but really, doesn’t this just prove the pro-life point that abortion is used as a eugenic weapon and disproportionately takes the lives of minorities?

Akin regains lead as social conservatives stand by him

If Todd Akin pulls this off, it will be more than he who is vindicated. It was also be the pro-life community.

After supposedly suffering a nine point drop following his infamous rape remark, to fall behind Claire McKaskill 49-44%, could it be that Akin has already recovered? Yes, according to a new poll commissioned by Family Research Council.

If Akin regains his foothold, it will put knee-jerk Republicans in a deservedly tough spot. Two days ago RNC Chairman Reince Priebus insanely declared, “He can be tied, we’re not gonna send him a penny.” Priebus, pictured right, has said he believes life begins at conception, although he must also believe babies whose fathers are rapists can nevertheless be murdered.

Seriously, are Republicans so afraid of feminists, and so afraid of defending the pro-life issue, that they’ll throw themselves under the same bus they threw Akin?
