Pro-life news brief 1-24-14
by JivinJ, host of the blog, JivinJehoshaphat
- The Republican National Committee has passed a resolution asking pro-life politicians to stop being silent on the abortion issue:
“Staying silent fails because this strategy allows Democrats to define the Republican brand,” the resolution said, “and prevents the Republican Party from taking advantage of widely supported pro-life positions… to attract traditional and new values voters.”
- Here’s a solid letter to the editor of the Dallas News:
What is it about being “in there” that makes him not a person but being “out here” that does make him a person? I have searched the libraries and the Internet with diligence and thoroughness and, except for abortion, I cannot find a single other human endeavor or field of study which proposes, or has ever proposed, a theory by which an object’s “essence of being” is transformed by moving it a few inches from here to there.
- The city of Elgin, Illinois, has settled a lawsuit with a pro-life group with uses vans equipped with ultrasounds:
The settlement announced Thursday allow non-profit organizations to operate out of vehicles, the Chicago Tribune reported. Elgin agreed to change a zoning ordinance adopted in 2012 and to waive permit fees.
Elgin will also pay $280,000 to Life Center. The group says the money will be used for legal expenses.
- A Swedish nurse is suing for religious discrimination when an offer of employment was rescinded after she mentioned her opposition to taking part in abortions:
The student nurse spent her internship at a hospital in Eksjö where claimed she had been promised to work extra in the summer. When she told them that her faith prevented her from taking part in abortions, the hospital retracted its offer of summer employment, Ellinor Grimmark claimed in a complaint that has submitted to the Swedish discrimination watchdog Diskrimineringsombudsmannen (DO).

That is so awesome!! Pay Elgin pay.
Ironic, isn’t it, that most Republicans are silent on Israel’s liberal abortion law:

Prayers please for this young girl who was taken away from Planned Parenthood in an ambulance.

Merit,Cast your slime upon yourselves and others. Neither Ted Cruz, Ron Johnson or Marco Rubio would support the Mexico City Policy or endorse the US eupporting abortions in other countries. Once the pro-life community in the US is able to get Americans to stop voting for the likes of Obama and his Democratic party that embrace the genocide here in America; then they will have a base of energy to spend on the genocide taking place Israel and Canada and other places in the world. Till then, you can suck an egg with Israel and take ownership of the genocide for yourselves.
Merit,
Isn’t it ironic that American Democrats, liberals, and feminists are silent on forced abortion in China as well as the deliberate destruction of unborn females.
“Ironic, isn’t it, that most Republicans are silent on Israel’s liberal abortion law”
Ironic? Most Republicans are silent on the liberal abortion law right here in the US. Why would it be ironic that they are also silent on Israel’s law?
RE: the genocide of abortion
Do the numbers/rate/ratio of abortions reflect those where the mother is of a different race/religion of the father i.e. White mother/black father or Jewish/Christian? This IMHO would make some numbers even worse!
Let’s remember that most old Republicans in Congress are not strongly pro-life. They secretly resent having to represent the pro-life districts who elected them. They don’t care about protecting women or saving children, and they are content to let Roe and the status quo carry on as it is.
Their only concern is that billions of tax-payer dollars flow to the abortion industry every election cycle, and a lot of that comes back to fund their Democratic Party opponents.
It is a joke as the shrill voices of the abortion industry warn their minions constantly about the “extreme” Republicans in state houses all over the country, who really do care about women and children.
Why has the GOP been silent? Well because they LOSE when they talk about restricting abortion.

Truthseeker: you can suck an egg
Hahahahahaaa!
Doug, I am not getting the humor. What are you finding so amusing? Are you ok buddy?
“Doug, I am not getting the humor. What are you finding so amusing? Are you ok buddy?”
I suppose the image of a person sucking an egg is somewhat humorous due to the unusual nature of such an activity.
Oh. I guess it is pretty funny. lol
JDC,
The reason I didn’t see the humor was because Doug’s post including a link to a pregnant woman on life support that might get removed from the life support. It seemed in bad taste to link to that and laugh.
Fair enough. I simply assumed that the two parts of the post had nothing to do with each other.
People usually use “suck on an egg (or another inanimate object)” as a non-swearing substitute for another “suck” insult lol. That’s what I find amusing truthseeker. :)
Steven, “Why has the GOP been silent? Well because they LOSE when they talk about restricting abortion.”
Wendy Davis has built her entire campaign around REMOVING restrictions on abortion, and she’s about to get her a– handed to her to a degree seldom seen.
When republicans are weak on the abortion issue, I like to comment to fellow “democrats” (who may or may not realize they have morphed into socialists) that now would be a great time to steal the abortion issue away from the republicans.
Most of us who think we are democrats hold the idea that we are the party to look out for the little guy who cannot, due to power differentials, look out for himself.
The no-yet-born would be a perfect constituency for us to protect. My guess is that this was Ted Kennedy’s motivation ofr being pro-life, and Jesse Jackson’s reason.
TS: Oh. I guess it is pretty funny. lol
Yeah, Truthseeker, I was just laughing at you telling somebody they can suck an egg.
: p
truthseeker, why the silence on Israel?
The Republicans including Chris Smith were outraged about China.
But not Israel.
Amazing.
Merit,
Were the feminists, liberals, and Democrats outraged about China?
