The Geneva Declaration on Perinatal Care

declaration

I’ve just signed something important called the Geneva Declaration on Perinatal Care. It reminded me of why I came involved in the pro-life movement in the first place.

logoThe Declaration, which can be signed by medical practitioners and researchers, is part of a new initiative by a group of parents under the banner Every Life Counts. They want medics (and everyone else) to stop using the phrase “incompatible with life” when giving a diagnosis of a life-limiting condition for an unborn baby – and with good reason.

  • Down on the Pharm dissects an article in Ebony, written by Deacon Emma Akpan, who “bemoans the lack of church preaching to promote birth control and abortion” and believes abortion is a good thing for the Black community – despite the fact that, already, “Black babies are aborted at a much higher rate than any other demographic group in the U.S.” Akpan reportedly works for Planned Parenthood in North Carolina as a community organizer.

2013-07-24_1145-e1374684357965In July 2013 MediaTakeOut.com broke the story that basketball star J.J. Redick had initiated an “abortion contract” with then girlfriend Vanessa Lopez to abort their baby.

The contract stated the couple would attempt to ”maintain a social and/or dating relationship” for one year after the abortion, and if Redick reneged he would pay Lopez $25,000.

2013-07-24_1145

Yesterday, MediaTakeOut.com released an abortion contract dating back to 2007 between NBA player J. J. Redick and then-girlfriend Vanessa Lopez.

I’ve had this and other documents related to that abortion for the better part of two weeks but out of concern for Vanessa wanted to make contact with her before going public.

  • Down on the Pharm reviews the latest statistics from the Centers for Disease Control, which seem to support something pro-lifers have been saying for a long time – that minorites are targeted by the abortion industry:

… 63 percent of the abortions in the U.S. end the lives of Black or Hispanic babies. This wildly outpaces the proportions of these minorities in the general population, and it directly relates to the locations of the abortion clinics.

New gives his take on why the pro-life movement will continue to struggle against abortion in a sex-saturated culture, and how he believes abortion and same-sex marriage are related. Alabama legislators have passed new abortion clinic regulations: The [Women’s Health and Safety Act] […]

  • Sharp eyes at Moral Outcry found, while doing research on the release of former Susan G. Komen employee Karen Handel’s new book, Planned Bullyhood, that the pink Komen bibles marketed (and then removed) by LifeWay last year were mistakenly on sale again.
