  • ProWomanProLife says a new study has found that the US and Canada are on the list of the top countries with the fewest protections for preborn life. The other countries on the list are China, the Netherlands, North Korea, Singapore and Vietnam.

Will abortion enthusiasts continue to support Waffling Wendy?

Stand-With-Wendy-Davis-Tim-Doyle-Print-OrangeAll she’s doing with this parsing is trying to walk the line between signaling to casual Texas voters that she’s kinda sorta socially conservative while reassuring abortion warriors who follow this issue closely that her “ban” would have no teeth in practice.

But that’s not her brand; the left loves her not because she’s willing to hide behind loopholes but because she’s a loud-and-proud filibusterin’ bulwark against the pro-life patriarchy. Says Jonah Goldberg, what exactly are people who “stand with Wendy” standing for at this point? Do they even know?

Alternative Girl Scouts organization offers Respect Life patch

respect lifeThe Girl Scouts have had a disturbing, well-documented relationship with the abortion lobby for a long time.

The organization finally overplayed its hand this past December by giving its stamp of approval to two infamous pro-abortion women, Wendy Davis and Kathleen Sebelius. This drew a boycott of Girl Scout cookies, called CookieCott2014.

Yesterday the America Heritage Girls, a faith-based alternative to the Girl Scouts, announced a new Respect Life Patch, which ”reinforces the organization’s commitment to honoring life from conception to natural death.”

How to earn the patch? From the press release:

Girl Scouts scrubs abortion, Planned Parenthood support from websites

Girl Scouts USA was a founding member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts and is its largest member. In 2008 and 2009 over 60% of WAGGGS’ membership fees ($2.45 million and $2.3 million respectively) came from GSUSA.

Prominently displayed on every Daisy, Brownie, and Girl Scout uniform is the World Trefoil Pin, to “represent their connection to the worldwide sisterhood of Girl Scouting and Girl Guiding.” (Source for graphic here.)

Boycott! Just say no to Girl Scouts cookies

2014-01-31_1627

Pro-lifers have been warning for years of the Girl Scouts’ fraternization with the abortion industry.

wendy-dBut it appears we have late-term abortion supporter Wendy Davis (pictured right) to thank for inadvertently providing the tipping point that has triggered the call for a nationwide boycott of the purchase of Girl Scout Cookies, called “CookieCott 2014.”

The Girl Scouts’ December 18 tweet heard round the wafer is still up, despite the Girl Scouts’ January 29 apology, which came six long weeks after the tweet but just nine convenient days before the launch of its annual cookie sale.

  • Pro-Life in TN shares an article by David French at National Review Online that captures the hubris and “me first” mindset of many who support abortion on demand:

I’m still shaking my head at Wendy Davis — not that she lied about her biography (sometimes it seems as if every politician springs out of some kind of heroic narrative) — but that she, as a very young lawyer doing the simple, ordinary work that thousands of young lawyers do, conceded custody of her child on the grounds that “it’s not a good time for me right now” to be the custodial parent.

I’m also shaking my head at the president of the United States, speaking on the anniversary of the legalized killing of tens of millions of children, justifying this slaughter because it gives the former parents the ability to “fulfill their dreams.”

  • The Washington Post has one of those columns from one of those professors who write some of those books which attempt to study pro-life people or Christians like we’re exotic animals. It has some hilarious assertions, like claiming that pro-life legislation on the state level “largely went unnoticed, and thus popularly unopposed, until Texas State Sen. Wendy Davis’ filibuster brought attention to the strategy.”
  • Joshua Wilson is writing about Massachusetts’ 35-foot buffer zone law, comparing sidewalk counseling and clinic blockades, but never mentioning the FACE Act (which has a much greater effect on clinic blockades than any buffer zone law).
