Pro-life blog buzz 6-26-15

pro-lifeby Susie Allen, host of the blog, Pro-Life in TN, and Kelli

A parting note from Susie:

I have co-authored the Blog Buzz (formerly called Proliferations) for five years. Time flies when you are having fun. I can think of no better movement to dedicate your life to than protecting the sanctity of all human life. Congratulations to Jill as she starts on a new venture in a new season of her life. I have learned so much from contributing to this blog and hope the readers will look for ways they too can take a stand for life in their own sphere of influence. As Jill did not seek the spotlight years ago, she did not shrink from the cause when it came to her. Look what she has done! We all have a sphere of influence and a talent. How exciting to see what we can do when we use our God-given talents. You may surprise yourself. Join the cause and press on.

For Life,
Susie Allen

by Kelli Abstinence Clearinghouse points out how the Boston Globe surprisingly admits that part of the nation’s abortion decline is likely due to “an ’empathy-driven reaction’ for all of the Americans that grew up in a world of vivid ultrasound images and miraculous neonatal medicine for preemies.” At Live Action News, Susan Michelle promotes the […]

Int’l Illegal abortion pusher: US has access issues but don’t count on my help

by Carder I know that it’s difficult, because abortion is not accessible to them. But this is not our work. I think this is a problem the U.S. has to solve itself. There are so many resources, so much money available there for abortion rights groups, I think they should be able to work on […]

Abortion enthusiasts promote illegal abortions

During the last week of May abortion proponent Dawn Porter and members of the National Network of Abortion Funds traversed southern Texas and upper Mexico to film footage for an upcoming documentary, Trapped.

Trapped will “look at the impact of Targeted Regulation of Abortion Providers (TRAP) laws in the southern United States, and their disproportionate effect on women living in poverty.”

There are currently no abortion clinics in the Rio Grande Valley, which borders Mexico. The nearest one in the U.S. is 230 miles north in San Antonio.

The group filmed themselves crossing the border to buy Misoprostol, an ulcer drug that is used off-label to induce abortions.

Misoprostol is available only by prescription in the U.S. and can only be dispensed by doctors for abortions. But it can be purchased over-the-counter in Mexico.

After the purchase, NNAF tweeted photos, along with instructions on how to use Misoprostol illegally to self-induce an abortion…

Documentary follows abortionist who skirts international abortion laws

I also immediately appreciated the metaphor of women leaving sovereignty to reclaim her own…. I had also lived in Indonesia and witnessed what happened when women don’t have access to safe abortion and it made an impression on me. I knew it would make a great story. ~ Diana Whitten, director of the documentary film Vessel, […]

Moroccan warships block abortion ship yacht

Read backstory here.

Per NBC, October 11:

Morocco barred Dutch abortion rights activists Thursday from docking their campaign ship to spread awareness about safe abortion methods in a Muslim country that bans the practice….

Earlier Thursday, Marlies Schellekens, a doctor from Women on Waves, said that Smir harbour was “totally blocked by warships so no one can get in,” a day after Rabat said the activists would be barred from arriving by sea.

More from the Associated Press:

Abortion ship to enter Muslim waters

10/3, 4:30p: Women on Waves has announced it will arrive in Smir, Morocco, on October 4 at 1a.

10/2, 11:14a: Because there is not enough social unrest in the Middle East, I agree it is the perfect time for the so-called “abortion ship” to stir the waters even more.

No wire hangers? “Jane” admits she would not have had an illegal abortion

What would you have done if you weren’t allowed an abortion? Jane: This is a really tough question. Honestly, I would have done everything in my power to obtain a safe abortion. I would have contacted organizations such as Women on Waves or Women on Web and sought them out to have the procedure done […]
