Latest on the Michelle Obama “whitey” video and more anti-white/semitic friends
Read my 1st post on this here. HillBuzz is reporting this morning:
Here’s what’s known so far:
The Michelle Obama Rant Tape was filmed between June 26th – July 1st 2004 in Chicago, IL at the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition Conference at Trinity United Church: specifically the Women’s Event.
Michelle Obama appeared as a panelist alongside Mrs. Khadijah Farrakhan and Mrs. James Meeks….
Bill Clinton spoke during the Conference, as did Bill Cosby and other speakers, but not at the panel Michelle attended.
Michelle Obama spoke at the Women’s Event, but referenced Bill Clinton in her rant – his presence at the conference was the impetus for her raving, it seems.
For about 30 minutes, Michelle Obama launched into a rant about the evils of America, and how America is to blame for the problems of Africa. Michelle personally blamed President Clinton for the deaths of millions of Africans and said America is responsible for the genocide of the Tutsis and other ethnic groups. She then launched into an attack on “whitey”, and talked about solutions to black on black crime in the realm of diverting those actions onto white America. Her rant was fueled by the crowd: they reacted strongly to what she said, so she got more passionate and enraged, and that’s when she completely loses it and says things that have made the mouths drop of everyone who’s seen this.
The “tape” is a DVD that Trinity United sold on its website, and possibly offered free for download up until March 2008 when Trinity’s site was scrubbed and the DVDs were no longer offered for sale.
This outburst happened just one month before the 2004 Democratic Convention, when Barack Obama delivered the keynote address.
A pretty detailed description. Still can’t believe, though, that some news outlet somewhere hasn’t gotten its hands on the tape and shown it. That would be a stratospheric scoop.
Larry Johnson has found a photo taken at that Rainbow/Push conference, from the July 26, 2004, edition of Jet magazine:
I don’t think famous people can under normal circumstances be condemned for having pictures taken with unsavory characters, but there you go, more corroboration: Michelle Obama and Farrakhan’s wife together at the supposed “whitey rant” event.
Also of interest in the photo is Rev. Willie Barrow. Her name first entered our sphere when it appeared on Michelle Obama’s infamous partial birth abortion fundraising letter as an advertised luncheon speaker. According to Duh Daily Scoop yesterday:
Rev. Willie Barrow, a member of the Obama campaign’s official Faith Outreach Team and a pledged Obama superdelegate, is a close friend of Farrakhan’s and a staunch Nation of Islam supporter.
Farrakhan stated in a 2002 interview he met with Barrow to devise his Nation of Islam platforms.
In 2006, Barrow condemned four Jewish members of the Illinois state Hate Crimes Commission after [Gov.] Blagojevich refused to remove from the commission Sister Claudette Muhammad, Farrakhan’s minister of protocol.
Sultan of Knish has much more on Barrow, including the fact she’s done fundraising for the United States Communist Party
Also of interest in that photo is Jamell Meeks, wife of Rev. and state Sen. James Meeks. Meeks is a powerful south side pastor, and when he ran for the state senate and won, we had hopes he would temper the radical liberalism there. He has been a disappointment.
I personally was part of a group that lobbied Meeks to oppose funding of human embryo experimentation, but he speculated to us that God may have allowed those embryos to be created to save the lives of others through research. I was shocked that this man of God could conclude such a thing.
At any rate, Meeks is cut from the same extreme racist cloth as Wright and Phleger. Following is a newscast with snips from a July 5, 2006, sermon by Meeks when he called white Chicago Mayor Richard Daley and white IL Gov. Rod Blagojevich “slavemasters,” and blacks who aligned with them “house [N-words]”:
Back to the whitey rant video, Michelle Malkin thinks it’s locked in Capone’s vault.
Do the radio mouths know about this? As in Limbaugh, Bortz, Hannity, et al?
I’m missing something here. How did the Nation of Islam and Trinity Church get to be pulpit buddies?
I was under the impression that Nation was not compatible with Christianity, especially since it’s a “White man’s” religion. And the things Farrakhan has said about our Blessed Mother…
Carder, I know Rush has talked about it.
The Nation of Islam and Wright types are bonded together by prejudice against whites and Jews. All these people are blacks or black wannabes like Pfleger.
This “tape” is complete horses***, its a shame that idiots like you still believe smear merchants like Johnson.
HumanityCritic,
No more ad hominem attacks please.
HumanityCritic,
We don’t call each other names on this site. It would have been enough to say “it’s a shame you still believe smear merchants like Johnson.” without adding the “idiots”…you’re new here, so we’ll let this one slide…but try to express yourself better in the future. Thanks.
mk
Humanity,
Without calling me an idiot, could you explain a little more your position?
I guess we’ll find out when the tape surfaces and see what was said. I can hardly wait. It is definitely feasible based on her thesis and the first time proud of America commenrs though.
Bobby and MK, good moderating! HumanityCritic, if you can find anything in the 2 posts I’ve written on Michelle’s whitey rant tape that reports it as any other than rumor, please corroborate.
With this alleged tape lurking in the shadows, it’s no wonder Hillary choose not to concede yesterday.
It is definitely feasible based on her thesis and the first time proud of America commenrs though.

Wow!
You read Michelle Obama’s 96-page thesis in less than a day?
I think it’s up to Michelle to confirm or negate that such things were said. So far she’s mum.
We’re waiting, Michelle.
Now let’s just imagine a picture of Cindy McCain sitting on a panel with the wife of a prominent racist anti-semitic as well as being a member of the same organization, and 2 other women, one a staunch supporter of this racist/anti-semitic organization and the US communist party, the other the wife of another racist/anti-semitic.
The reaction to this would be what….?
Carder 9:32am
Excellent point. If the woman is so innocent, she, as well as her husband, should be vehemently denying it exists and challenging her accusers to produce it.
Isn’t that what any of us would do if we were truly being falsly accused?
I knew it! They are all commies! Bill Cosby too!
Put on your tin foil hats to fend off their evil rays, or they will make you a commie too!
Honestly, these posts are as funny as “Dr. Strangelove”. They are beyond satire.
Charles 9:09am
One thing we can never do is underestimate Hillary and Bill. They are a couple of crocodiles sleeping in the sun who you underestimate, trust, and take at face value at your own very serious risk.
You’re talking about a political machine here that is just that, a machine, devoid of human feelings, with one goal only, to win. If not now, later. These are people who have trashed and destroyed others to preserve themselves and their power.
We have not heard the last of them. They may appear to graciously concede, don’t fall for it. Their goal is power, and the downfall of Obama, now or later.
I think it’s up to Michelle to confirm or negate that such things were said. So far she’s mum.
We’re waiting, Michelle.

No. The burden of proof is on those making the accusations.
(Last time I checked, Larry Johnson’s site – No Quarter – was down…)
Anon, 9:52am
What on earth are you talking about? Rev.Barrow, pictured with Michelle, had done fundraising for the communist party.
Where else is there anything about them all being commies?
You sound like you have been hit with some “evil rays” Anon.
Laura, 9:58am
Yes it is up to her accusers, but it wouldn’t hurt Michelle’s cause to challenge her accusers to put up or shut up.
Wouldn’t you do the same if you were truly innocent of an accusation or inuendo?

I might if the story at all significant.
Right now this rumor is still at the “Simone” stage:
Simone: Um, he’s sick. My best friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who’s going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it’s pretty serious.
Woo!
More completely unsubstantiated rumor mongering.
Again – how does defaming one’s character without any substance backing your attacks align with your Christian beliefs?
Laura,
Significant or not, challenge your accusers to put up or shut up. You make them look like the idiots they are if they can’t and you put the subject to rest once and for all.
Yes I am all too well aware that people can say anything, distort facts, make assumptions, and be just plain vicious.
The tape is up on You Tube.
Obama’s campaign is OVER:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBGIQ7ZuuiU
Dang it! I got Rick Rolled! Laura, you are a hoot!
Mary 9:42 Actually that is an excellent question and I think the answer is clearly “not much” (reaction to Cindy McCain pictured with the wife of a racist anti-semite)
Fist I don’t know, or care, if there is a Mrs. Hagee. If there is, I would hope she would not share her husband’s anti-semitic views.
In any event, Cindy McCain is an intelligent woman, and not likely influenced by that stuff.
Finally, even if it happened, McCain would probably get a pass. Look at the number of lobbyists running his campaign who have had to resign due to their representation of companies and countries which are inimical to the interests of the United States, with little publicity and no consequence.
With the Dem nomination sewn up, perhaps McCains “pass” will be revoked.
Mary @ 9:53 AM
I have not underestimated anyone; nor characterized them in anyway. I am just mearly putting forth a point: that given thiis rumor, Hillary may be witholding her concession until it is either revealed or rebuked.
In either case, wheather you are for or against her, it seems like a calculated and wise move.
Anon,
Thank you for your comment concerning my question.
Mrs.Farrakhan actually belongs to the Nation of Islam, a racist/anti-semitic organization. Rev.Barrow also strongly supports this organization.
Hagee’s endorsement has been denounced by McCain.
I have no idea if Mrs.Meeks shares her husband’s viewpoint.
I’m afraid you’re a little more charitable than me Anon. I think an issue would be made of Mrs.McCain if she had similar associates. I’ve seen the media’s double standard time and again where Republican and Democrat candidates are concerned.
I don’t know how much of a pass McCain gets. I keep hearing “white haired senator” and questions about his health. I’ve also read plenty about the lobbyists.
For the record, until I see the “whitey tape” I don’t believe it exists.
Charles, 11:07am
I didn’t mean you specifically, I meant our country as a whole, I should have specified that. Sometimes things don’t come out across the internet the way one meant to say them :)
You are correct about a calculated move. They do nothing that isn’t calculated.
Anonymous:
Pastor and Mrs. Hagee are anything but anti-Semites or anti-Catholic. The lies you spew are more than I can take and I strongly warn you to stop speaking of things about which you have no clue. If you are interested in the truth about Pastor Hagee go here:

FYI. The phony HisMan may be back. HisMan, did you know there was an imposter blogging under your name last night?
HisMan, when was the last time yu visited this site?
HisPhony was back and he knows I called his bluff so he went away. He had posted on this thread and the Clinton denies concession thread today. How do you mods want to handle this HisPhony?
“black wannabes like Pfleger.”
Black wannabes? We’re all just people. Black people are people to.
Gosh, HisMan, when Hagee referred to the Catholic Church as “the Great Whore”, I took that as anti-Catholic. When he said Hitler came to help the Jews to the Promised Land, I thought that was anti-semitic.
Thanks for straightening me out!
I’m not sure who is scarier His Man or His Impostor!

You have nothing to fear from HisPhony. And I wouldn’t doubt if you came here as an accomplice.

I’d like Barack to produce the tape from her speech at the Rainbow Push Coalition conference. It has to exist and it would put this to rest. But he would probably deny releasing on the grounds that “my wife is off limits”. I got news for Barack. NOT if you wanna be president of the US.
Anon,
Just within the past couple of weeks, Hagee issued an apology letter to Catholics. http://online.wsj.com/public/resources/documents/washwiredonohue05122008.pdf (warning: pdf file). I trust that he is sincere.
TS,
Let me check on this “phoney HisMan” thing. I’ll see what I can do. God love you.
Does anyone really believe Michelle Obama said “whitey?” No one talks like that. It’s how black people talk in your bad dreams. And, again, I don’t imagine anyone would care if she did. How is that offensive?
Jill, your website has deteriorated into a non-stop Obama hate-o-rama, with (at least) daily racist smears against Obama and his family.
I won’t vote for Mc Cain for several policy reasons, notably his plan for endless war in Iraq, but I would never listen to or participate in hate rants aginst him and his family, as he is a decent man and an American hero, and his family is honorable.
This site has become too toxic for normal people to tolerate, and I anticipate it will get worse as the election approaches.
I will leave with a sincere statement. I am truly sorry for Jill and for the others whose hearts are so poisoned with racist hatred, that they cannot fathom or acknowledge the historic implications of the Obama nomination.
There are legitimate policy. reasons not to vote for Obama. Obviously, if you are a one issue voter on abortion, you vote for McCain. If you make over a million a year, or are invested in big oil, Halliburton, or health insurance and pharmacy stocks, you would be a fool to vote for Obama.
Unfortunately, you and your amen chorus are unable to keep it at a policy level, and have descended into a smear campaign against a decent person and family.
I grew up in the church, and know of no basis in the teachings of Jesus which would justify the hatred I see on this website every day.
I think it has deteriorated into a hate web site, and no longer wish to view or participate in it due to its toxic nature.
Hal, Pleger said it recently and got a standing ovation ar the same church so why would you doubt it? Especially with MO’s recent statement
that for the first time in her life she was proud to be an American? And her thesis on racial relations in America shows resentment too.
Why would you doubt it?
Anonymous,
BO is a rabid pro-abort. MO holds fund-raisers for that barbaric “health” procedure known as partial-birth abortion. And they call themselves Christians. They are hypocrites and wolves in sheep’s clothing. You tell me what part of Jesus ministry condones delivering a baby to the chest and puncturing their head with a scissors and opening it wide so it nakes a gaping hole you can stick a vaccuum into and suck the baby’ brains out. Otherwise, can you tell us your real name so we be sure you don’t come back?
I am truly sorry for Jill and for the others whose hearts are so poisoned with racist hatred, that they cannot fathom or acknowledge the historic implications of the Obama nomination.
So not liking Obama=racism? What? Are you serious? Sure, the historic implications are GREAT, but that doesn’t mean I want him as our President. Woo hoo, good for him, he’s managed to fool the very people he despises. He’s a great actor!
Unfortunately, you and your amen chorus are unable to keep it at a policy level, and have descended into a smear campaign against a decent person and family.
Amen chorus? Do you even READ the debates that go on here? How could debate/argument continue if we were all an Amen chorus and agreed all the time?
Maybe post your name next time.
truthseeker, Pleger said “whitey?” I must have missed that, although I saw the clip about Hillary. What exactly did he say?
Michelle’s “proud to be an American” comment was not offensive at all in context; she clearly meant that she’s really proud of the way her country is supporting her husband.
Senator Obama’s speach last night leaves no doubt about how much he loves our country.
You’ve got a problem with “resentment” in a college paper on race relations? OMG, you should read the stuff I wrote in college. And my roommate’s Marxist Studies thesis would put you over the top, I’m sure (he’s now a respectable journalist)
“If you make over a million a year, or are invested in big oil, Halliburton, or health insurance and pharmacy stocks, you would be a fool to vote for Obama.”
Actually, if you make over 70K a year, you’d be a fool to vote for Obama.
Please show me where Pfleger said “whitey.”
What is the point of lying about this?
Hal,
All I was saying is based on her track record I dont know why you be surprsed if she had said it.
On another point, I would like your opinion on something because you are a white Obama supporter. Let me begin by saying I have a sister who has been in an inter-racial marriage for over twenty years and I love her family and they have always had my support so I am not racist. Now my question.
The black population voted 90% for Obama nationwide. Honestly, how can you rationize that except to determine they were voting based solely on race? And why did the media and everybody else give Obama a free ride and not bring it up when it is so obvous? I feel like I am the only one making an issue on this. Is everybody else too politically correct to bring it up or is it just a non-issue when black people vote so overwhelmingly on racial lines. It seems to me to be worth discussing since it is what cost Hillary the election.
“If you make over a million a year, or are invested in big oil, Halliburton, or health insurance and pharmacy stocks, you would be a fool to vote for Obama.”
I really disagree. I make a lot of money. I’m happy to vote for Obama even though it might cost be more in taxes. It doesn’t make me a “fool.” I don’t actually like paying taxes, but I’d much rather pay a bit more and have Obama in charge than pay a bit less and have McCain in charge. Not even close.
Umm… what? The media didn’t bring it up? Seriously?
After every primary the media would talk about the race dynamics.
Pleger said [whitey] recently and got a standing ovation ar the same church so why would you doubt it?
Please show me where Pfleger said “whitey.”
What is the point of lying about this?

Hal and Dave,
I just watched it again. I was mistaken. And there is no reasin to change his words, the message was clear enough without exagerration. He actually said he was entitled because he was a white, not entitled cause he was a whitey.
Truthseeker, Hillary was leading in the black votes before South Carolina, and the media wondered a lot about why that was. Over time, (some think because of Bill’s comments) she alienated a lot of the black electorate. That does not mean that they voted solely on the basis of race. They voted because many of them prefered Obama. Remember, Kerry probably got 90% of the black vote against Bush in 2004, and that was not based on race. And, assuming 90% of black voters voted for Obama because he’s black, what possible difference could that mean for me? (I shouldn’t vote for him because black people like him? ) Jesse Jackson got a lot of black votes, but not so many white votes. Obama appeals to a very broad spectrum of Americans.
Hillary lost the election because she didn’t organize or plan it very well (some have compared her leadership to George Bush and Iraq, failing to plan for the long haul or understand what she had to do to win). Obama pulled off the biggest upset of modern political history, and it’s not fair to dismiss it because of his huge support in the black community. Huge support of groups of voters is what gets people elected.
TS and all,
That was the real HisMan last night. I emailed him. He had a pretty rough night so those of you who do pray, please keep him in your prayers.
I am truly sorry for Jill and for the others whose hearts are so poisoned with racist hatred, that they cannot fathom or acknowledge the historic implications of the Obama nomination.
Huh?
I’d LOVE a black president. I’d just like someone more along the lines of Alan Keyes.
How unprofessional could Jill be? I think she is at her worst today, posting the words “Whitey” video. Have you seen the video Jill? Putting it in quotations does not question even its existence. Until you watch it, dont’ report on it. What a joke. Give a hack a computer, watch her write untruths on her web site.
“I’d LOVE a black president. I’d just like someone more along the lines of Alan Keyes.”
Oh yeah! I hear ya, Anon.
Anon 12:19PM
Please, some examples of the “racist smears”. Is Obama above reproach of any kind?
You say why you won’t vote for McCain but not why you would vote for Obama.
Please tell us what “change” Obama plans to bring and how he plans to bring it.
The man does seem to have divine powers, I’ll give him that. I did hear in Obama’s speech that from this moment on the oceans will no longer rise and the earth will begin to heal. I think he has plans to part the Red Sea sometime soon.
Wealthy people won’t vote for Obama. Let me see, the Kennedys, the multimillionaire Hollywoood hobnobs, Oprah Winfrey, to name a few, won’t vote for him?
Umm… what? The media didn’t bring it up? Seriously?
After every primary the media would talk about the race dynamics.
Posted by: dave at June 4, 2008 1:03 PM
Your right Dave, they did. And it really bugged me how the pundits always focused on Hillary getting the poor, white, working class, rural vote. Go back and watch the news clips. They covered Hillary getting the white vote a thousand different ways. But the real racist voting was going on among the blacks. If you wanted to talk race, the black vote should have been front and center cause it went so disproportionaltely to Obama that it is what cost Hillary the election.
Posted by: Bobby Bambino at June 4, 2008 1:18 PM

Done.
“But the real racist voting was going on among the blacks.”
There is a difference between white people refusing to vote for Obama because he is black (that is racism) and black people choosing to vote for him because he is black. (not racism). Black people vote for white people all the time, in many elections there are only white people on the ballot. Some white people have never voted for a black person and never will. See the difference?

I’m convinced Hillary didn’t have her coronation as the Democrat candidate because she violated the 2 most important rules of love, war and politics.
NEVER underestimate your opposition
NEVER expect or predict a quick and easy victory.
She’s still in the race. We all make a huge mistake if we underestimate the Clintons or what they will do to secure the nomination.
Hey, what about a Chinese president, Japanese, East Indian, Hispanic, or Italian Commander in Chief?
To elect someone just becasue they are of a certain race or ethnicity and not because of their qualifications or ability is highly racist and destructive.
Anonymous at June 4, 2008 1:24 PM was ts
“Sorry Bobby, that was me.”
Ah Kristen, well then it’s a good thing I didn’t refer to you as a slimy no good coward for not posting your name :)
Hisman, I sort of agree with you. I don’t think it’s “highly racist” to elect someone “just” becuase they are of a certain race or ethnicity, but I agree it’s not smart. I don’t think Obama got 90% of the black vote “just because” he is black. As I pointed out, Hillary was getting a majority of the black vote early on. It was hers to lose, and she lost it.
Huge support of groups of voters is what gets people elected.
Posted by: hal at June 4, 2008 1:12
Hal,
I believe you are right that the blacks were voting for Obama and not necessarily against Hillary. But it is naive to think race wasn’t the driving factor behind the mass registration drive and the disproportionality of the vote.
Would you consider it racist if a huge group of white voters (say 70%) is what got McCain elected?
I don’t think Obama got 90% of the black vote “just because” he is black. As I pointed out, Hillary was getting a majority of the black vote early on. It was hers to lose, and she lost it.
Posted by: hal at June 4, 2008 1:35 PM
Hal, once they found out Obama was viable they switched over like flies to sugar. Nothing Hillary did justified that kind of reversal in support.
As I pointed out, Hillary was getting a majority of the black vote early on.
Well… that is pretty tough to say, being that there were only three states that voted before SC, and two of them are two of the whitest states in the country.
And neither Iowa or New Hampshire had enough blacks to be able to give statistically relevant data in the entrance/exit polls.
In Nevada, entrance polls showed a HUGE advantage to Obama, with him winning 84% of the black vote going into the caucuses.
And it wasn’t until SC demographic that the black vote could make a difference.
Dave, you beat me to it :)
At the Obama rally last night in St. Paul, MN they were selling Tshirts that said,
Do not judge me by my deeds,
Judge me by the color of my skin.
To clarify,
I was not there for the rally. I was not cheering for Obama.
“Would you consider it racist if a huge group of white voters (say 70%) is what got McCain elected?”
Probably not, but maybe. Not by the numbers alone.
A lot of women were really excited about electing a woman. I don’t have a problem with that (although I was not a Clinton supporter)
If black voters were simply voting for Obama because he was black, Keyes would have done better, so would have Jesse Jackson. Obama won not because the black voters supported him, but millions of voters of all colors. Including “white” states like Iowa.
Stop spreading your hateful lies about a godly man who has given his life to serve others.

So if having a “rough night” excuses HisMan from saying horrible hateful things, isn’t it just as fair to assume Michele Obama had a “rough night” if she truly said those things? (which I doubt she did – because I’ve never met anyone who used the term “whitey” in regards to ANYTHING serious)

Probably due to the fact that he is half white so he is better than Jackson or Keyes at spinning his empty promises to a gullible white demographic. Also, his close association with the abortion industry made him an expert at indoctrinating the young.

Don’t you see the injustice in striking out at Christianity because of one persons actions. When you do that you are doing nothing short of oicking a fight with anybidy and everybody who loves Jesus. Is that what you meant to do?
Why not go fart around with pro-choicers? Jill told you to leave, didn’t she?
Heather, nice to see you posting. Lets show humility and offer up our anger to God and ask that He comfort HisMan that he may perservere through his trials.
This saying is trustworthy: If we have died with him we shall also live with him; if we persevere we shall also reign with him.
2 Tim 2:11-12
Too bad a few of the pro-lifers became luke warm when it came to you. Instead of focusing on unborn children being murdered in the womb, they chose to enable you to continue your stupid and silly posts. There hasn’t been a single conversion on this site, so don’t believe what you have read. Progress? Not sure. Conversions? NO WAY!..you add nothing here. Why anyone would want you here is beyond me. Way to go to SOME of you “pro-lifers” You are just as bad as this troll!!
Heather –
you do realize you are acting EXACTLY the way you are harping on Laura for acting…
and as far as someone who posts on an internet forum all day making assumptions about OTHERS not having anything better to do? The phrase “people in glass houses….” comes to mind.

Amanda, I am just kind of down on some of the people on my side.
Look at how some of them treated Lisa, and those are the very people who all jumped on the “holier than thou” bandwagon.

Oh Dude…
I NEVER call someone out for being a Christian, but I will call someone out for being a bad, self-righteous Christian.
Virtually everyone I work with is a devout Catholic or Mormon, and some of the lovliest people on the planet.
I also used to live near a house full of Aryan Nations/Christian Identity and Skinhead Movement types who used to use scripture to justify some of the ugliest, most violent, hateful behavior you can imagine.
Google “Tom Metzger Skinheads” and you can find the source of my contempt for BAD Christians.
(Heck, go to the Army of God or Christian Falangist websites.)
Eternal Father, I offer you the body and blood, sould and divinity of your dearly beloved Son our Lord Jesus Christ. In atonement for our sins, and those of the whole world.
For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us, and on the whole world.
Like you work…..RIIIIIGGHHTT!!

You nailed me!
The Mortgage Gnome, the Utility Bill Fairy, and the delightful Car Insurance Pixie all live under a giant toadstool in my fron yard and shower me with gifts.
Laura & TS –
I wish there was a good word we could use to describe the type of people I know Laura is referring to. Because the touchy thing is, they CALL themselves Christians, and because they identify themselves that way, we continue to identify them as such, even though their actions or words make them quite decidedly UNChristian.
The best examples I can think of are the Phelps Baptist Church, and the Army of God/Bob Enyart types (also Baptist I believe…is that a coincidence? I don’t know much about Baptists). We call them Christians because thats what they claim to be. So when someone says something negative about THOSE types of “Christians”, it may come off as a generalization, but I don’t think most people mean it that way.
Laura –
Is there a college loan elf? If so… can you PLEEEEASE send him a vacation to Boston? I’d be his BESTEST FRIEND!?!
*sigh*
Laura,
Now I am not condoning killing by anyone, but I want to try and differentiate between the two “Christian” organizations in your post….
Lets talk about the difference between Skinheads and the Army of God? I’ll tell you a little about a leaded of the Army of God, cause I know a little about him. And you tell me a little about the “mission statement” of the Skinhead movement. Then we will compare their goals and actions according to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Here is a quote from a martyr of the Army of God movement agter he shot and killed an abortionist.
“I know one thing, no innocent babies are going to be killed in that clinic today.”
Paul Hill
He used the “justifiable homicide” defense to argue that he was acting to prevent “murder.”
Now you tell me something about the skinheads and their mission and rationale for hurting the people they hurt.
The Mortgage Gnome, the Utility Bill Fairy, and the delightful Car Insurance Pixie all live under a giant toadstool in my fron yard and shower me with gifts.
You know those guys TOO?
Could you send the Car Insurance Pixie over to Chicago..my brother needs some car insurance, but is 19, single, and rates are ridiculous. He’s going the public transportation route for now.
Seriously, though Laura, I haven’t minded having you back..you’ve actually been giving me a chuckle or two. :)
Truthseeker,
A lot of people see abortion as “justifiable homicide” and I think THAT is a bunch of malarky too.
“Eternal Father, I offer you the body and blood, sould and divinity of your dearly beloved Son our Lord Jesus Christ. In atonement for our sins, and those of the whole world.
For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us, and on the whole world.”
Jesus, I trust in you! Amen.
TS –
They believe they are protecting traditional values, and that minorities and non-Christians defile those values and have no right to be here (even though the group they tend to hate the most is a group WE brought here against their will in the fisrt place).
I hope you’re not trying to say one group has a better motive than the other. They are BOTH domestic terrorist organizations. Their motives, though they may be different, come from the SAME place – blind hatred.
Amanda,
It is interesting that this conversation is going on here right now. I just watched a History special on Nazism in America, and they mention the very same thing you said in your 3:46 p.m. post. It’s scary the depths that delusion can take people.
Elizabeth, like I said, I am not condoning the actions of the Paul Hill. I am just analyzing the individuality of these two different “Christians”groups according to Jesus teaching rather than looking at them by a label. The chips will fall where they may.
The GOP is definitely for diversity. Can you be under the age of 40 and not white and be a republican candidate? I doubt it….
They represent the people right?
Amanda or Elizabeth or Laura,
Can someone give me a real life example of somebody who the skinheads looked upon as a leader and the reason they look upon him/her as a leader?
sure you can PeachPit, but being on the fringe isn’t qualification for president.
To satisfy the one who recruited him, a soldier does not become entangled in the business affairs of life. Similarly, an athlete cannot receive the winner’s crown except by competing according to the rules.
2 Tim 2:4-5
Truthseeker,
Google, “Church of Jesus Christ Christian” or “Aryan Nations” or “Richard Girnt Butler.” You can find all of these in Wikipedia as well.
Truthseeker – Not just for president, how about on the local level – congress, senate, – state gov’t….The GOP has had meetings on how to recruit minorities but they can’t do it…
Thanks Elizabeth. I’ll pull some info from there and make a comparison of mission statements and then analyze them according to the teachings of Jesus.
I googled it PeachPit and what you are saying is true. The Republicans have very few minority candidates. They only ran fourteen for Congress last election and only one of those fourteen won.
Bobby and TS, thank you both for being good and true RTlfers. Laura is going through a midlife crisis. She enjoys striking out at others even though Jill has asked her to stop. Bobby, I’m loving this book you sent me. Thanks again. Laura, you aren’t funny. Give it up.
Peach Pit 3:51PM
Its only because of Republican support that the Voting and Civil Rights Acts were ever passed.
Democrats were too busy filibustering the Civil and Voting Rights Acts or standing in front of schools shouting “segregation forever”. (George Wallace)
Yeah, I would say Republicans have a history of supporting diversity.
Mary, hello.
I liked your post about Hillary.
Bobby, I’ve just finished reading about the incomplete abortion done on the little girl who was born with a missing arm. I had to stop. I felt sick. I really did.
Also about the PBA. sick, sick, sick.
Oh yeah. There is a lot of sick stuff in the book, Heather. But it’s like MK said; if they can go through it, the least we can do is read about it or look at the pictures and suffer with them in a small manner.
Heather,
Hello and thank you.
That little girl was Ana Rosa Rodriguez. I understand a prolifer had his prosthetic company make an artificial arm for her.
Oh yes. I intend to keep on reading. I just skimmed that page for the time being. Mary, yes. That was her. Poor thing.
I didn’t see if she remained with her biological mother or not though. I have another book called ‘The Abortion Holocaust’ I am able to view the pictures. One picture shows babies piled on top of each other in a bucket. Jill posted that picture here….it’s just awful that we destroy human beings like that. Just so upsetting.
And Rumsfeld met with Saddam Hussein in the 1980’s and Bush had failed business deals, and met with Ariel Sharon (who is avowedly anti-Palistinan). Bush also has connections through oil deals to Saudis knowlegeable about 9/11, and to the Bin Laden family through business deals.

There is no american president with his hands clean. Politics is a dirty business, and the best we can do is keep them accountable.
btw: what about McCain and his dealings with the Keating 5?
There is no american president with his hands clean. ——————————————— I must agree.
Heather,
Out of curiosity, what was done to Lisa?
mk, if you are the moderator and even you are trying to insult me by posting a picture of the church lady, then I guess the message from this blog is clear. Sorry for wasting space on here and I’m sorry I wasted so much of my time.
Posted by: Lisa at May 23, 2008 10:46 AM
Lisa,
That wasn’t an insult. It was an illustration. Getting so caught up in fighting abortion that you stop seeing the “people” you are dealing with.
After awhile it becomes just words and a caricature of Christianity.
Obviously, you didn’t hear one word any of us said.
We all tried to tell you that we take the abortion issue VERY seriously. But we also take the souls of pro choicers VERY seriously. And we respect them as human beings.
You on the other hand, called them trolls.
Your inability to deal with people has human beings does way more damage to our cause than our joking around did.
Just ask any pro choicer on this site. If they were going to listen to an argument for life, would they listen to someone that is willing to respect them, hear them out, and not treat them like filth, or someone that called them names, insinuated they were less than human (trolls) and were unworthy of friendship and compassion?
If you choose to leave, it will be your loss. There is much to be learned here at Jills. On both sides of the street.
The message from this blog IS clear. We are a family. Sometimes we fight. Sometimes we cry. And yes, sometimes we laugh. We have grown friendships and relationships and some of us even love each other.
Why just last night, both Doug AND Hisman called me “Sis”…can’t tell you how that touched me. It means I’m doing something right.
This isn’t an ego trip. This isn’t about who is “right” and who is “wrong”…it’s not a boxing match. It’s a conversation. It’s about changing hearts. Not about bullying or berating people into seeing your side.
You should stick around and see if you learn something. Remember, the first words you spoke on here, were condescending and cruel. In all the jokes last night, there were no insults, or mean spirited words. Until you came on…Think about that.
If the picture of the church lady upset, I apologize. It was meant to make you think. Think about how upset our guests felt when you accused them of coming on here just to stir up trouble..
They are not trolls. They are my friends. Their names are Doug, Amanda, Alyssa, Midnite, Hal, Edyt, Leah, Erin, Jess, Dan, Alexandra, Enigma, Laura, Sally, Reality, Heironymous, phylosopher and yes, even SoMG…They are people. They have feelings. I’d thank you to respect that.

MK, when I first came to this site, I just thought you hung the moon. However, you have changed. That’s why I really don’t address you anymore. You cater to these pro-choicers. Why sell out? Why do treat some pro-lifers like they are fools? Always telling us not to tell them how we feel and what not. I see it. Others have too.
Okay, I spoke my mind. I’ll wait for the backlash. Meant to say why do you treat some pro-lifers like fools? A picture of a woman tied to a tree with duct tape in her mouth? Is that really welcoming someone who was new to a site?
And there are some PCers that I do like, but Laura? COME ON!! Why are you fighting to allow her to stay? What do you hope to accomplish? Do you really think she’s going to change?
You cater to these pro-choicers.
You mean address them like human beings? CAUSE THEY ARE! Just because you don’t like what they believe doesn’t mean they aren’t human beings, and your attitude towards them is just as childish as some of the things they come on here and say. We’re all people, and we all do what we think is right. There ARE pro-choicers on here who genuinely believe abortion is what is best for some women in the circumstances that they face. While I believe it is misguided, it doesn’t mean they’re evil and should be treated as non-persons. There’s no need to be rude to any of them as I have seen you be quite a lot.
I love MK..me and Rae were talking last night about how we wish there were more pro-lifers like her because the cause would go far if there were.
A picture of a woman tied to a tree with duct tape in her mouth? Is that really welcoming someone who was new to a site?
First of all, Heather, she came in here when we were being silly and called ALL OF US trolls..even the people who are pro-life. It was really late at night and we were being silly…if she can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen. I’ve been insulted here and yet I remain because I can dish it out as much as I can take it. Some can’t…why is that OUR problem? She was taking life too seriously anyway.
Some pro-lifers DO act like fools and pretending that just because they’re pro-life that they don’t is..well..foolish. I feel the same way about some pro-choicers as well.
Elizabeth, how dare you? You have been telling people off left and right! Stop being a martyr.
Elizabeth, maybe Laura had a point. Stop talking about your ex.
MK,
Don’t let them bring you down…I don’t think you’re going soft or that you cater to pro-choicers. I just think you have a big heart full of compassion and I wish there were more of you in this world. It’s like my mom said about you, “God brings certain people into your life to help you get through things, and she’s perfect.” My mom is so right. You’re my idol. :)
Huh, Heather, WHAT are you talking about? When have I talked about my ex?
Elizabeth, Laura started off by calling MY SON A BASTARD!!!! So, don’t GO there with me!!! Now, what do ya say? You weren’t here when that happened. Who wasn’t being treated like a human being that day??
I notice Heather that you have no rational comeback to my statements that I made..so you tell me to stop being a martyr, whatever the hell that means. Maybe you could learn to have an adult conversation instead of throwing around insults.
You’re calling MK out over a conversation that you weren’t even there for, and don’t even get, so move on.
Well, Isn’t his name Cordell?
Heather,
If I had been there to read that, I would have defended you no problem. But because she insults you then you want to stoop down there with her and be on her level? Really?
I don’t think you would be laughing along if someone told you that you had a bastard kid. That’s what that “human” told me about my son!!
Yeah, AND what?
I haven’t said a word about him in I don’t even know how long on here..so what does that have to do with ANYTHING?
Why am I stooping? She’s done it to you. MK was here when she did it to me.
Ask Laura. You find her so funny. She always mentions it. That’s how I knew.
She’s said that about my daughter I’m sure too. Do you really care about what somebody on the internet who wouldn’t know you or your son from a whole in the wall thinks or even says? You and I both know he’s not a bastard, so what does it matter what Laura says? Don’t you think she knows that gets to you? Don’t you think she does it on purpose?
And yeah, she’s still a human being….human beings tend to say lots of below the belt stuff to each other all the time.
What are you trying to do anyway? Mold people into what you want them to be?

Posted by: Elizabeth at June 4, 2008 8:11 PM————————————————————- I do care, because I love my son.
I don’t really care what Laura has to say about me. I know who I am and what I’ve been through, and I’m okay with that.
MK likes Laura, and I know why because we’ve talked about it, and her reasons make sense to me. Since I talked to MK about that, I have found Laura to be a little bit more humorous. (I mean besides her personally attacking people, which she has toned down a bit since being back here)
And what beeswax is it of yours that I read Jill’s blog on a day I wasn’t participating? I want to see what’s new in pro-life news, so I come sometimes, read, and go.
What are you trying to do anyway? Mold people into what you want them to be?
Uhh, no, that would be you with your whole “analysis” of what kind of pro-lifer MK is now as opposed to before.
Elizabeth and Heather,
We’re all in this together. We all want the same thing- the ending of the slaughter of innocent human life. It can be extremely frustrating for us because it’s so obvious that abortion is one of the greatest evils that man has ever come up with, and many people don’t see that. Remember that only God can change people’s hearts and attitudes. Heather, don’t give up on Laura. You’re reading about Dr. Nathanson now; there is no WAY that Laura is even 1/100th as bad as he was, yet God was able to turn his heart towards him to the good.
One thing I always do when I see a post that frustrates me is say a Lord’s Prayer or some other prayer before responding to it. Prayer is so powerful. I’ve digressed, but the point is that we must remember not to go after each other. Sure, we may disagree with each other’s methodology, but remember that Jesus is in each and every one of us. God love ya’ll.
Well, I don’t really care b/c YOU were being sarcastic to TS the other day. I thought you were a Christian, lady. You bashed your ex one day and the other day you called Courtney Luv a “dirty skank” or something. Why weren’t you taking into consideration that Luv is a “human being”??????????????????????????
Heather,
I still love me kid and I could give a sh*t what Laura has to say about her. If she really finds it necessary to make fun of a 2-year old via the internet to get her jollies, then that just speaks volumes about how pathetic she is. Why one feels the need to get soooo wrapped up in what other people say about them who they don’t even know is beyond me.
I was just defending MK because *I* don’t see her the way you described her at all.
Bobby, thank you. I’m done. I don’t even know why she addressed me. I wasn’t even talking to her and she stuck her nose in it.
Good Elizabeth. Good. I am also a human being, and I may tell a PCer off, but you may not know or see why. I don’t like Laura. She doesn’t like me. End of rant.
Heather, how old are you? 5? Are you talking about the bloody baby doll protest thread? Who cares if I’m being sarcastic..I’m always sarcastic..have you not picked up on that by now? What does being sarcastic and being a Christian have to do with anything? Are Christians not sarcastic?
Actually I called Courtney Love a skeezy b**ch if you want to get it correct. She’s still a human being..calling someone a skeezy b**ch doesn’t mean they’re not a human being..that was just what I think about the way she acts. If you think I’m wrong, challenge my comment then.
Uhh, Heather..this is a public thread..I can stick my nose in wherever I so please, and defend whomever I choose to.
Blanket of love, blanket of love. Remember that we’re all under the blanket of love.
Heather,
I really don’t care who you choose to tell off or for whatever reason, and that wasn’t even what I was responding to. I was responding to what you said about MK because I don’t agree. If you can’t handle that, well that’s too bad and I’m sorry for you.
Elizabeth, I’m done. Practice what you preach, and how old are you? What woman calls another woman a skank? Childish and mean.
Hehe Bobby, can we build a campfire for this “blanket of love?” Maybe sing some campfire songs?
Yep, and it’s a public thread, and I was reading the blog. You asked me about that first if I recall. And I’ll tell off Laura again and again.
Bobby, I hope your baby is doing well.:)
Ehh, I’ll concede that it was childish and mean, but I doubt Courtney Love gives a hoot about what MY opinion is of her antics. If she did, I’m sure she wouldn’t act that way. If I knew her personally, I might not say that, but all I know is what is shown in the media, so that’s all I have to go on.
Thanks Hetaher. She sure is. We JUST put her to bed. She has two little teeth coming in, and she began semi-crawling yesterday. She loves to stand in her crib and jibber-jabber. It’s quite cute, if you ask me :)
Heather, do you really not get that I was defending MK and not Laura?
Please show peace and only love to Courtney Love. Say only good things about her. She needs understanding.
Well, when Courtney Love comes to me and asks my opinion, I shall show her nothing but understanding. :)
Bobby, my daughter is now 1. She’s asleep in dad’s arms on the couch.
HAHAHAHAHAHHAAH
Heather – you are seriously commenting on Elizabeth calling some vapid celebrity a skank, when you of ALL people are constantly dishing out insults like a petulant child? At people here, even people on your own side of this?
Ohhhh lord. I hope your glass house is made of safety glass…I wouldn’t want anyone to get hurt.
Elizabeth & MK – I love you both. You’ve both made me think about things more than I ever have. I know I don’t need to tell you this, I know you already know, but its your paths that will lead to change.
As far as the MK/Laura thing…..fine. I juzzz don’t get it. I have seen Laura tell everyone off. I don’t take that treatment in daily life. Why should I not be expected to put her in her place when she steps on my toes?
Thanks Amanda.
I love you too!
:hugs:
How’s your summer going?
Amanda, I would only have expected this:)
Amanda, when will you be changing your path?
Blanket of love, blanket of love. Remember that we’re all under the blanket of love.
Posted by: Bobby Bambino at June 4, 2008 8:30 PM
Time to find a bigger blanket?
heather,
I’m awfully sorry that you think I’ve changed. You couldn’t be more wrong and if you go back to day one and read my very first posts, you’ll see that I have ALWAYS treated the pro choicers on this site respectfully.
There is not one prochoice person on this site that is unclear of where I stand on the abortion issue. Not one.
Lisa, came into a conversation and attacked people that she didn’t know. She did not introduce herself, or ask why we were talking as we were, or simply share an opinion…she assumed, incorrectly, that we were all pro choicers and that we were disrespecting the aborted child in the picture at the top of the post. But she was wrong.
I have read what I wrote and I do not see anything that was untrue or overly harsh.
I’m sorry that you still don’t get what this site is all about. I would venture to say that it is YOU that has changed. You poke and poke and poke at Laura and just lie in wait for her to say something that will get her kicked off of this site. I’d say that was pretty low. Much lower than putting Lisa in her place and sticking up for myself and the other people that were posting that night.
I have stood up for you many of times. Many. That you have forgotten that is not my fault.
I certainly don’t wish to fight with you, and I’m sorry I brought it up. If you don’t feel comfortable talking with me, I will respect that. I’m sorry to hear it, but I will certainly respect it. I recall you and a few other prolifers leaving the site in a huff awhile back. If things aren’t to your liking, I am truly sorry, but that’s just the way it is.
Peace to you my friend, and I’m sorry things have taken the turn that they have.
MK, you have never taken up for me!!!!!!!!!1
Well, it was going well (did you see the pics on facebook from Memorial Day weekend and the 80’s party?)
…but today someone broke in to Michael’s car when he was at work. And go figure, the day he gets his window smashed out, it was raining, AND we were supposed to go see a condo tonight. He’s not that upset, but I always just wonder how people can do stuff like that, knowing their ruining someones day…for MAYBE a 200 dollar GPS. So lame.
/end rant. All in all, life is good and I really can’t complain. =)
you?
Heather,
You know I think the world of you so I’m jumping in here. Please, I understand you’re angry about an insult to your son. I never read it. Nothing tears our hearts out as mothers like our children being hurt or insulted.
Bobby is right, we are all in this together.
We are an assortment of life experiences, ages, and perspectives. We all approach this debate in a different manner and we all have something to offer. MK does in hers, I do in mine, you in yours, and Bobby, Amanda, Edyt, and yes Laura do as well in theirs.
One thing that I have learned in life is that my reacting to someone’s insult or hurtful comment, however subtle or blatant, is exactly what they wanted. Nothing gave them greater satisfaction than my hurt reaction. Nothing gave them a greater sense of control. I’ve enjoyed frustrating people by not reacting. You can look pretty stupid when someone just ignores you.
There won’t always be fairness on this blog. Insults won’t always be caught and reprimanded. What one considers an insult another will not. What one considers fairness another will not. I have been accused of being one sided as well when it comes to pointing out uncalled for comments. I make every effort not to be.
If necessary ignore Laura’s posts. No one is forced to read anything on this blog.
So please my friend, give MK a break. She’s a dedicated pro-lifer.
Wait…
Wait!
I never called anyone’s kid a “bastard.”
I remember that conversation like it was yesterday.
Heather said that all of the women who had abortions and all of the filthy proaborts were going to burn in Hell.
I said that I’d be in good company and quoted the Bible:
” A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD. ” (Deuteronomy 23:2)
Interpret that as you like.
MK, you were well aware of what Laura said to me. So, now I’m laying in wait? LOL! What?
Heather,
I am not saying you should let Laura step on your toes, but to criticize MK because she has a common ground with Laura by saying she is “catering” to pro-choicers is unfair. You may not get the common ground or even liking that MK and Laura have, but it is not your place to call MK out because she gets along with someone that you don’t. MK is my friend and has been more than wonderful to me, so I will defend her when I see she is being accused of something unfairly.
Elizabeth,
Thanks for sticking up for me. While I am hurt by Heathers words, I learned awhile ago that I can’t please everyone.
When I stick up for the pro life side, I’m accused of being biased. When I stick up for the pro choice side, I’m accused of being a turncoat.
You can’t win for losing.
Truth is, I speak up when I see what I perceive to be an injustice. No matter what side it’s on.
Tell your mother her kind words were WELL received and her daughter is lovely. As is her granddaughter.
Moderating, as our new moderators are about to find out, is not all it’s cracked up to be…but let’s not tell them just yet…lol.
Oh well. Just never mind.
Mary, thank you.
Laura, you are lying. I want to know why you always accuse me of being a welfare mother? I’m NOT!! Please tell me why you have said this over and over.
Mary, I understand what you are saying. It’s just that every time I post something, Laura makes a snide remark to me. Laura, you did it today. Why do you do that?
MK,
I heard a rumor..actually not a rumor so much that Midnite may be coming in for Lollapalooza here in Chi-town and said we should all do lunch. I don’t know when that is exactly, but I thought I would let you know!
Elizabeth,
Yes. Midnite has emailed me. How exciting. I love meeting every one face to face. It’s really awesome!
I’ll be in Minnie in August to meet Michael’s family! AND hang out with Rae! Guessing thats too far for you Chicago peoples?
Heather, I can’t speak for everyone, but I’d be a whole lot more sympathetic to your feelings being hurt by Laura is you weren’t nearly ALWAYS the first one to say something nasty about someone.
Heather said that all of the women who had abortions and all of the filthy proaborts were going to burn in Hell.
———————————————————- News to me.
Please Heather, we know you’re not a welfare mother. You know you’re not a welfare mother. Why should you give a fat flying if someone says you are?
Please, cease any conversation with Laura. I see you two in a cycle of punch, counterpunch and its getting you nowhere and affecting you very negatively. I say this as your friend.
Amanda,
Yeah it’s like 6 hours away…But it’s a long summer and Chicago will be here. Where do you live (I know you’ve probably said, but the brain is small)?
Their motives, though they may be different, come from the SAME place – blind hatred.
Posted by: Amanda at June 4, 2008 3:46 PM
Aryan nation – Prejudice and hatred based not on actions but upon geneology or race. Strikes out against somebody just because they are of a certain nationality.
Army of God – whatever force is legitimate to defend the life of a born child is legitimate to defend the life of an unborn child. Strikes out because somebody else is physically attacking somebody
Amanda, What would Jesus say about the Army of God who strike out because of specific violent actions that one groto try and prevent the violent actions that one group of people are taking against another group of people who are completely vulnerable? Well, Jesus taught us not to kill and that when confronted with evil we must be willling to let go of our attachments to this world and put our trust in the resurrection. I do see a big difference though between somebody like Paul Hill who is protecting somebody else from the violent actions of another group and somebody from the Aryan nation who strikes out based solely on race and would kill people “regardless” of how they treat others.
But, I believe that society as a whole understands there is an intrinsic difference between killing somebody to stop them from violence against another, and killing somebody just because of their geneology or race.
I guess the best way to for me to relate this diference is express it from my own weaknesses. I personally have a certain amount of the “blindness” of a Paul Hill, but none of the “blindness” of the Arian nation. Let me explain. If an abortionist were to commit abortion on my daughter (especially my minor daughter) without my consent, I would likely personally kill the abortionist in a rage of passion. But I would not ever kill anybody just because they a certain race.
One big difference between me and the Army of God is that when I killed the abortionist I would not do it in the name of God or the name of Jesus. I would do it knowing that it is a weakness in my faith as a Christian and with the knowledge that it goes against Jesus’ teachning. Does that make any sense?
Mary, okay. I will try my best. Thank you. You are one of the kindest pro-lifers here.
MK,
I think you’re doing well. About a month ago there was a similar debate and I got really frustrated with preferential treatment, and you were the one person who actually seemed to care that everyone received the same level of respect. So I appreciated that then and continue to appreciate it now.
Not to suck up or anything, but I just wanted you to know you’re my fav. mod. ;)
Well, when I first started posting here, I lived in Brooklyn. Then when I re-appeared, I was living at my parents north of Boston, now I’m in an apartment south of Boston. =)
My bf will actually be in Chicago this weekend for a wedding, but I didn’t have any more days off to take after Morocco.
Besides, Ted Kennedy is coming back to my work – wouldn’t want to miss that!! Its SO much fun trying to talk to patients with speech problems on the phone with a helicopter hovering outside your window! /sarcasm
Truthseeker,
I would do it knowing that it is a weakness in my faith as a Christian and with the knowledge that it goes against Jesus’ teachning. Does that make any sense?
That was awesome. Recognizing that while it might not be Christian it would be human. And that you would be at fault, but it would be out of a misguided sense of protecting someone you love.
That took guts to say.
Amanda,
My summer is going well so far. Our AC is broken and it’s supposed to be 90 tomorrow, so I think it’s time to bust out the kiddie pool lol. It’s so hot in this house though, and even with all the windows open, there is little to no breeze. SUCKS. Especially cause every time Gabriella wakes up from a nap she is drenched in sweat. I feel so bad for the poor girl.
Other than that, we have been taking trips to the park a lot, and doing lots of sidewalk chalk and bubble-blowing. Oh, and ice cream eating. :) Most people gain weight over the winter months, but I’m in school so I hardly have time to eat, so I will be gaining weight in the summer months. hehe.
Sorry about that car break-in…I do wonder as well what people are thinking sometimes. :/
TS, good post.
Heather, please stick around. I really missed your posts. And don’t keep any animosity “boiling” inside of you for days or even weeks cause it can eat you up. Let everybody know. MK and the mods truly don’t want anybody to get mistreated. so stay here and be a voice for any PL person who gets mistreated. If I am here I will be happy to join you in calling them out on it. *High Five*
Well Amanda,
The door is always open! Wide.
Thanks for the love in the above post. I feel the same way about you. We might disagree on some issues, but it is always intellectually stimulating. I have SOOOOOOO much respect for you and what you did in Africa. I have the feeling you’ll go far in helping to change this world…for the better.
Brains, looks, compassion…you sure you don’t want to buy my son???
TS, thank you. *high 5 to you*
Yes, Amanda, come see us!!
TS, I am reading “The Hand Of God” about the conversion of Bernard Nathanson. It’s a great read so far.
@MK: Oy! I thought I had first dibs on the son? Which one is up for sale now?
I love how frank he is in talking about his childhood as well as other things.
Truthseeker,
That was an interesting perspective on the whole issue and I can tell you took some time to think about it. I wish you could have seen the special on the History Channel about Nazism’s history in America. It was very interesting to see. The head of the “Aryan Nations” saw minorities as a threat to the white race that was created by God. He said this country was founded by Aryan men so they could worship their Aryan God, and that Jews and others were the products of Satan. So maybe he thinks he IS protecting other people by advocating hate crimes against non-Aryans?
Is it safe to come out now?
Can I safely assume we have made our peace?
That said, is anybody heading down to Florida for the summer? It’s fun down here, too.
Rae,
It’s the same one…but the price has gone up. He’s actually worth something now! ;)
carder, my mom used to live in Bradenton.
Florida is great!!
Carder,
Where in Florida?
And nice moderating, ya chicken! lol
Mk,
I’m listening..why’s he worth something now? hehehe.
Carder,
Where in Florida?
And nice moderating, ya chicken! lol
E,
He has a job, actually just had two promotions, calls regularly, gets a SALARY, has insurance, and no longer wants to be a professional surfer (We tried to explain to him that most professional surfers DID NOT grow up in Chicago)…He goes to mass every week, and just in general has grown up. I’d date him. And I’m picky!
He’s working with inner city kids, wants to do some kind of peace corpy type of work, and have tons of kids…
I think he’d love to do what Amanda did…
So maybe he thinks he IS protecting other people by advocating hate crimes against non-Aryans?
Posted by: Elizabeth at June 4, 2008 9:32 PM
I am certain he “thinks” that Elizabeth. But in his mind he would have to be protecting them from something other than violence.
misguided sense of protecting someone you love.
Posted by: mk at June 4, 2008 9:14 PM
I guess that wa sthe point mk. As a Christian I would have to agree with it being a misguided act, but as a Father of a daughter and a member of a humanity I would almost feel almost obligated and duty-bound to pay the abortionist a visit and see to it he didn’t offend that way again. That’s why people like me are in such a vulnerable position without Parental Notice laws. We have no legal recourse so we would have to take things into our own hands and it just ain’t right.
MK,
Sounds like he’s doing good things…you got me cell number. :)
I meant MY cell number..you have my cell number. I should probably learn English if I’m to ever find a guy to like me. :)
At the Obama rally last night in St. Paul, MN they were selling Tshirts that said,
Do not judge me by my deeds,
Judge me by the color of my skin.
Posted by: Carla at June 4, 2008 1:56 PM
Wow Carla… the Obama supporters are actually that brazen about their racism… that is a shocking testament to the mentality driving the 90% black vote to Obama.
Um…gee…Hal. I walked by a guy selling t-shirts out of the back of his van. On the corner of Kellogg and 7th in downtown St. Paul, MN at around 6:16pm CST.
Posted by: Carla at June 4, 2008 2:08 PM
Help me out, Hal. African Americans were buying and standing in line to go see Obama. Republican van?
Posted by: Carla at June 4, 2008 3:05 PM
Hal,
As far as black or female for President doesn’t mean a hill of beans to me.
I look at their policies and character, period.
I like Alan Keyes for example, however, he’s got a tone that makes him unelectable.
I like Condi Rice alot but she’s pro-choice, so, I couldn’t vote for her as a matter of conscience. Same for Colin Powell.
As far as McCain goes, I kind of think he’s got a quirky personality. However, he’s the best shot we have at getting strict constructionist judges appointed to the Supreme Court. And I also believe anyone that would consider attacking us would think twice about it with McCain at the helm. He would not take any crap from the likes of Chavez or Ahminajad, you know the type. I also think he would really slash the deficit.
There’s this great black politician from Tennesee that I would vote for but I can’t think of his name.
I believe that the first woman president will be a Republican.
Obama, I truly think he is not ready for the job. He’s a great orator and has charisma, however, even if we ignore the abortion stance, I think he would weaken this country to the point where we would be vulnerable militarily, financially, and politically.
Actually, Obama would be a better spokeperson for a carmaker, or a baseball commissioner.
When a politician doesn’t understand this simple truism, “there’s no such thing as a free lunch”, he’s not ready to serve. You simply cannot give the store away or should I say raid the store and have the store stay in business. It’s just a fact of life.
With Iran threatening to wipe Israel off the face of the map, with the economic cycle were in, the threat of Islamic fundametnalism, etc. Obama is just too big of a risk to place our family’s future in.
Character and proven leadership trumps popularity and persona. Obama is a phantom.
What beasts…How the HELL can a man and woman who both support partial-birth abortion be the nominees for a major political party in the U.S. And how can any Democrat sleep at night knowing this. They have all made a deal with the Devil to just ignore together as a group. The US will be destroyed like Soddom and Gemorrah. May God spare those who stand against the killing of these children and spare us as he spared the family of Lot. Over 1.5 billion since RoeVWade. While 90% say they are against it personally. I’ll never be able to respect anybody who supports the abortion industry. And those of the 90% who “say” they are against it personally but turn a blind eye will be held accountable on judgement day. I wash my hands of them as part of civilized humanity. For the love of humanity, how can we be so self-righteous as to crush the most vulnerable like this. And how can a human woman submit to such an abominatiion. Our great country of such high ideals is being drawn into an Obamanation like a twelve week old baby being ripped apart and drawn into the bloody hose of the abortionist.
I was once a straight Democratic voter until I came to the realization that anybody who would kill these helpless children really couldn’t give a rat’s ass about those who are lost in war. All they want is polical power. To you, my Republican friends, the party of life, may the Almighty and merciful Lord bless us and keep us from the damnation that is wreaked upon our country by the Democratic party. I am deeply saddened that those on the Democratic side who claim to stand for the rights and protections of the vulnerable and innocent in our society can be in such a state of denial. I long for the things we could accomplish if we only had some of them on our side.

Amanda, I’m going to be in Boston on Monday, Tuesday, and likely 2 Saturdays from now. Any chance you’ll be around? lol.
P.S. You guys further west, we may be cynical liberals out here, but we don’t bite, usually ;)
MK,
I’m in Central Florida, home of the House of Mouse. Actually, just 20 minutes away from Disney property.
Still waiting for Jill to justify how attacking some one’s character with unfounded and unsubstantiated rumors aligns with any sense of Christian and Biblical beliefs…
you must be new here, Dave.
Being Jill means never having to admit a mistake or apologize to anyone.
ohhh, Carder, I love Disney and can’t wait to take Gabriella!

nice insights about black voters suppporting Obama.
“With Iran threatening to wipe Israel off the face of the map, with the economic cycle were in, the threat of Islamic fundametnalism, etc. Obama is just too big of a risk to place our family’s future in.”
Hisman, those are exactly the reasons (some of them anyway) we need Obama to get elected. Give him a chance, you’ll be impressed.
Impressed with what?
Bobby: Blanket of love, blanket of love. Remember that we’re all under the blanket of love.
Janet: Time to find a bigger blanket?
I realize there’s not set size for a kid’s blanket, but a few years back one of my nieces had this little item – almost hard to call it a “blanket” at that size.
I said, “Heck, you could roll that
thing up and smoke it.”
Then my wife gave me one of those weird looks.

Still waiting…
Just so you guys know the event wasn’t held at Trinity but the sheraton with abc affiliates there. And Michelle was not a keynote speaker but a special guest. Are you suggesting that prominent people with different religions and personal beliefs should not be seen together?
Dave, this is an extremist hate group website, and biblical beliefs and Christian values are only alluded to provide support for the hate. Hope this clears us your question.

I bet that happens several times a day! (Just kidding!) :o)
Michelle Obama “whitey” rant rumor false?
See previous posts here and here. The Politico reported yesterday: Sen. Barack Obama on Thursday batted down rumors circulating on the Internet and mentioned on some cable news shows of the existence of a video of his wife using a…
Heh – Janet, you don’t have to kid about that one…
If you are woman/man of god you know life starts at the moment of conception and abortion is out of the question. I am waiting for the whitey video to surface, i tend to believe it’s out there due to the anger i witnessed in michelle obama’s eye’s when she talked about worrying about her husband everyday because he is a black man in AMERICA.
