RNC anti-Obama ad
The Republican National Committee began running this anti-Obama ad June 3. I had forgotten the job of IL state senator is part-time, making Obama’s resume even slimmer.
I’m glad the RNC noted Obama’s “present” votes on abortion but note the RNC didn’t take a position for or against abortion in the ad. Shrewd or scared?
Shrewd or scared?
Both. One can only cram so much information in a 60 second spot. Maybe they’ll dedicate a whole ad on just the BAIPA at a later date. (Not holding my breath).
Thin resume is just the beginning. Anyone who views Venezuela, Cuba, and Iran as no major threat has got some crash courses to take on international affairs.
I heard Neal Bortz say that IF Obama is elected, he’s going to get a rude awakening on his very first Intelligence briefing with the CIA, FBI, etc. which could very well alter his get-the-troops-out-now rant.
Brother’s got a way to go…
Carder, I disagree completely. Obama already knows more that GWB ever will.
Ten sets of twins have been born at St. Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT, over the course of a week, including four sets within a 21-hour period.
……………..
I’m wondering what they are putting in the water.
Hal,
If that were the case, then he would have never stated the “no major threat” opinion.
What could he know that GWB doesn’t in terms of national security?
I’m wondering what they are putting in the water.
I’d be willing to bet more than a few of those couples had taken fertility drugs.

You think? Are you sure they weren’t drinking poorly filtered pee water from women taking BC?
Haha, does BC increase your chance of multiples?
Maybe… there’s a woman who doesn’t want to get pregnant, so she’s secretly taking BC and telling her husband that she’s having difficulty getting pregnant, so the doctor gave her fertility drugs and every night she flushes them down the toilet and swallows the BC instead.
Thus, every woman in the area becomes exposed to her fertility drugs and they become pregnant with twins.
Could explain the short time frame too.

I think we have the workings of a paperback novel.
Massachusetts actually has the highest rate of multiple births in the country…because health insurance here covers fertility drugs.
Uh oh guys…the liberals are breeding in doubles!! and triples!! Run for your lives!

Cursed is winning votes by suppring a woman’s right to kill babies in an Obamanation.

Ugh!! I am 100% against abortion and 100% against drilling for oil in ANWR. Watch and mark my words, the Domocratic party has NO real convictions. The liberal benders will toss ANWR to the energy pigs soon because all they really care about is money and power. Ugh!!! there is no sanity in this bipolar nation.
The Obama resume is so thin as to make him an unknown, which is part of his appeal. But take away the script and he stumbles and flails about very unconvincingly. His background lacks the necessary depth and breadth of experience in a range of private and public service that would not even qualify him to be president of a decent size college, much less the president of the United States. He cannot even touch the qualifications that John McCain has when it comes to knowlege of domestic and geopolitical realities.
When put on the spot, as he was about one of his selections to vet a VP possibility, he eventually mumbled something about having someone to vet the vetters. Vetting the vetters is HIS responsibility. He won’t be able to blame anyone else when things go poorly if he becomes president. The presidency is certainly no place for someone as poorly prepared as he currently is. Perhaps in a few years he might have garnered enough wisdom and experience to make a go of it, but he certainly lacks the requisite qualities at this point. One could argue also he would not even be the Dems’ nominee had we found out earlier out about his relationships with the cast of questionable characters that have shaped and influenced him.
I am NOT voting for Barak Obama because he is pro-choice, and I am NOT voting for any pro-choicers this election.
I am also not real fond of John Mc Cain. But if I like his running mate, I will vote for him. One of the problems (but not the only one) with Mc Cain is his age. My fear is that if you elect a much older president, you increase the chances that he will die in office. I know it is not guaranteed. A 70 or 80 year old president can live to 95 or 100. And a younger man can have something happen to him that causes him to die in office. Look what happened to John Kennedy, he was relatively young.
But when you elect an older person, you increase the chances that something will happen to him in office. That is why anyone thinking of voting for John Mc Cain needs to take a good look at his running mate. If you like the running mate, go ahead and vote for him, knowing that the running mate might end up being the president. Otherwise vote for a write-in candidate.
This is my plan for November.
“…he’s going to get a rude awakening on his very first Intelligence briefing with the CIA, FBI, etc. which could very well alter his get-the-troops-out-now rant.”
You mean he might change his position if exposed to facts to which he had previously not been privy? I find that this does not bother me.
He will be briefed by the FBI, who took no action after being informed that the 9/11 terrorists, who were in the US illegally, were taking flight training and didn’t express any interest in learning how to land.
He will be briefed by the CIA who made all the intelligence blunders in Iraq, including “weapons of mass destruction” that didn’t exist.
The “rude awakening” is that what he is likely to hear from them may very well not be true.
One can only hope for a president with enough judgment not to be mislead by incompetents.
Remember Dick Cheney is the most “experienced” politician in the US, and the results of his “experience” have been an unmitigated disaster for this country.
“The presidency is certainly no place for someone as poorly prepared as he currently is.”
Hey, it’s not brain surgery. Most of your “aids” do the real “work.” Obama is exactly my age, and has more experience than I do. If I could do it (which I could) then I’m sure he can do it. He’s smart, honest, and hardworking. The key requirement for the job is good judgement. He has that. It’s a much harder job to get than to perform. He’ll be fine.
Someone wrote: “The presidency is certainly no place for someone as poorly prepared as he currently is.”
If George W. Bush could be President, anyone can. What experience or preparation did he have? The Governorship of Texas, which is mostly a symbolic office–the Governor of Texas has less actual power, and less responsibility, than any other state governor in the USA.
Besides this, he had experience as an oil executive, in which capacity he gave the company’s assets away to his friends, bankrupted his employer, and moved on. He also had experience running a ball team, in which what he did was, he gave all the assets to his friends, bankrupted his team, and moved on.
And what has he done as President? He has given the government’s assets away to his friends (as tax cuts and war contracts), run up an historical debt (instead of declaring bankruptcy) and is about to move on.
Anyone who voted for Bush over Gore (or for that matter over Kerry) has no business criticizing ANY candidate for ANY office for being unprepared.
And a younger man can have something happen to him that causes him to die in office. Look what happened to John Kennedy, he was relatively young.
He was assassinated. It’s not like he had a heart attack and keeled over.
The Obama campaign hss set up “www.fightthesmears.com” to counteract the smear merchants. The first article addresses the non-existent “I hate whitey” tape that Jill promoted in three separate postings recently.
As a kid playing a pick up game of tackle football one of the first things we learned was that “piling on” was not cool–it was one of the unwritten rules that kept down fights and injuries.
In the last couple of years everyone from A to Z has delighted in the sport of kicking Bush while he is down. Why is that? What is it that makes so many people think that they are so bright and have such wonderful insights as to stand in judgment of President Bush? A lot of these folks do not even begin to have a clue of just how much of a high pressure job the presidency is. For others the real reason they criticize him is because of his conservativism, even though they won’t say it. Then there are those who say he is such a dummie. Actually, Bush had a higher GPA then did Kerry.
It takes a toughness to do the job that would make most people recoil at the constant bombardment of management decisions, the endless public appearances, policy setting meetings ad nauseam and so forth. Even though aides do most of the prep work, it still falls on the “man” to make the calls. This is why McCain is so much more qualified to step in and take the reins from day one. Obama simply does not have either the experience or the consitutional fortitude to take on the demands of the presidency.
Listen, Anonymous (if that IS your name) how is it “kicking Bush while he’s down” to criticize the man while he’s President of the United States of America? He’s “down?” He’s on top of the world. Haven’t you seen all the dancing he’s been doing. He says he’s having the time of his life.
Bush is, without a doubt, the worst president of the last 100 years. I never said that about Reagan, who was also conservative. (and who I disagreed with on most things)
If you disagree with Obama’s policies, fine. But I don’t think you can fairly say he can’t do the job.
As for Bush having a higher GPA then Kerry, would you like to compare Obama’s grades to McSame’s?
Hi Anonymous,
If you’re new, welcome. If not, then here’s a little reminder that we are required to give ouselves a moniker when posting comments. Otherwise, we risk having our posts deleted. And you’ve got good stuff to say, so I wouldn’t want that to happen.
Peace.
Hal and Carder: anon above was me. I posted before realizing my name wasn’t there.
I truly believe Obama is not ready for the presidency, and I do not believe it unfair to say so. In fact, those who feel strongly one way or the other have a responsibility to say so and why they feel the way they do.
Even if Obama held the same pro-life views as does McCain in my opinion it is McCain who should have the support of the majority of Americans on the basis of national security. Obama simply does not have the experience or gravitas to represent our country on the world stage.
One recent glaring example of Obama’s unpreparedness is his flippant remark about Iran not being a danger because they were so small. Excuse me? A madman with the possibility of acquiring a nuke IS most certainly a HUGE danger. On national security, McCain has it, hands down.
Jerry, you’re entitled to your opinion. Obama’s experience is a legitmate question in this election. More important that “whitey” comments or flag pins.
I would sleep better at night knowing Obama was president. McCain today called yesterday’s gitmo decision “One of the worst decisions in the history of this country.” That, alone, makes him unsuitable to be president in my mind. I’m sorry, but if the United States Government wants to lock someone up forever, they should have at least a shred of evidence that the person deserves it. More than “because we say so.” Don’t you think McCain would like Habeas Corpus a bit more if President Obama decided to lock him up and throw away the key.
Hal, the writ applies to US citizens, so yous McCain/Obama lockup argument is without merit.
well, first of all, Bush thought he could do it to citizens too. Second, the writ does not just apply to citizens.
I’m glad to hear McCain was so put out about the SC decision. It shows once more why we need McCain, not only because he understands the sweeping change in jurisprudence that the decision introduces, but also because he is defintely more likely to appoint justices that are constructionists. I cannot do better than Scalia’s scathing dissent.
“scathing” or raving?
Here’s Justice KennedY:
Security subsists, too, in fidelity to freedom
