New Stanek poll: Name the baby
I have a new poll question up (bottom right side of home page):
Here’s a fun one. Eric on Facebook is letting poll respondents choose the first name of his soon to be born baby boy. Which name would you pick for ________ Kal-El Sykes?

The previous poll question had to do with President Obama shaming the US Supreme Court during his State of the Union speech for a free speech decision he didn’t like. At the time Justice Samuel Alito shook his head and mouthed, “not true,” regarding Obama’s portrayal of that decision. Readers here overwhelmingly took Alito’s side…

I think Elijah is the best name for the baby and he should be referred to as Eli (a shortened version to go with that last very complicated long name).
Eli Kal-El Sykes. Perfect!
I can’t decide if I prefer Elijah or Noah. :)
I voted Elijah, because I love the name, and because that was my Great-Grandfather’s name, but I personally would not name a baby Kal-El (which apparently Nicholas Cage did), because it’s just silly to name a baby after Superman. I know…just my opinion…but that’s what you asked for..my opinion. :)
what, Clark is not an option? (yes, its a Superman reference). I don’t know what name I’d choose.
I voted Oscar, but Elijah was a close second.
I voted for Noah. Kal-El is already obviously very comic-booky. Noah is the name of Claire Bennet’s father on Heroes and was the name of Sylar’s son in the not!future bit, so it’s also appropriately heroic.
I’m a hardcore geek. I regret nothing. :)
I dislike Kal-El as well (and I am a geek, but I’m a scifi geek. I’d be all for Zefram Wesley Sykes or James Tiberius Sykes). I voted for Peter, which is the name of my husband and my son (and father-in-law, coincidentally).
