New Stanek poll: How many seats do you think House Republicans will pick up?
How many seats do you think House Republicans will pick up on Election Day?
Vote on the lower right side of the home page.
Here were the results of my previous poll question. No real surprises, given the assumed demographics of my site, other than the relatively high percentage of Republicans not planning to vote. What gives?

I voted 50-69 – I’m thinking around 55.
Ex-GOP, I voted that range, too. I don’t have an exact figure in mind, I’m just thinking we’ll do very good but not fabulous. Hope I’m wrong!
“We’ll” as in the GOP? They pretty well turned their back on abortion in their pledge to America – just a little surprised your support is so enthusiastic. I think the GOP has learned though – push abortion or not, the pro-life vote is in their back pocket. Democrats have a few of those groups as well…
Ex:
“I think the GOP has learned though – push abortion or not, the pro-life vote is in their back pocket. ”
Here is the reality: No one has the pro-life vote in their back pocket. Democrats are the party of “choice”, plain and simple. Republicans on the other hand are not necessarily hard line pro-life. That being said if there is any chance whatsoever of advancing a pro-life agenda, Repubs are our best bet.
There are numerous instances in the past in races from dog catcher to Senator where pro-life Dems have beat Repubs. However in recent years that has become more of an anomaly as the Dems become ever more associated with “choice”.
Many voters were taken in by the “Democrats for Life” appeal a couple of years ago. After watching them being peeled off one by one by Nancy and company, we are now the wiser. It is becoming almost impossible to find a real pro-lifer running as a Dem anymore.
Let’s face it: Democrats have “choicers” in their back pocket.
72. And, yes, I’m sober (Not commenting on my sanity).
