Here were my top 5 favorites political cartoons this week, starting with the one that got the biggest laugh from me, by Mike Lester at Townhall.com…
by liberal Tom Toles at GoComics.com (although I seem to never get his little comments in the lower right corner, including this one)…
by Clay Jones at GoComics.com…

Regarding first cartoon, Toles comment refers, I believe, to earlier comments about Obama when he was more popular immediately following his election … some even referring to him a savior. Such comments have fueled his legendary arrogance. Hence the inference that even he thinks of himself as God or godlike.
Hi Tom! Thanks, I got that one. The Toles cartoon is the 2nd one.
Could the side comment be shortened from this possible analysis of Rangel?
“(The embarrassed Rangel’s confession and regret for his corrupt behavior are stated publicly) more in hunger (for a return to his former level of esteem, stature and respect rather) than in sorrow (and a true feeling of regret revealing an awakening of conscience and a promise of reform).”
Not sure if this speculation fits the cartoonist’s political point of view or not.
LOVE that first cartoon! Laughed out loud. Thanks, Jill.
Jim:
Your analysis is probably spot on. Just an observation…if it were a Repub standing there instead of Rangel the MSM take on it would have been far more condemnatory. This cartoon mocks the process, it suggests that everyone has their hands in the cookie jar ergo the hypocrisy of the hearings…thus making Rangel the victim. Typical lib spin.
As much as many prognosticators and so-called experts are saying President Obama is going to have a tough time getting re-elected, the reality of the situation is that President Obama will get re-elected against almost any potential GOP challenger.
However, one candidate cannot be over-looked. If we learned anything from 2008, we should’ve learned that organization and social media skills are paramount to a campaign. No one is actually going to “come out of nowhere”. To become the most powerful person in the world, you have to build quite an organization. That’s why only one person has a chance to beat President Obama in 2012.
This will make it all clear:

Jim – that makes total sense. I get it now.
Jennifer – me, too!
Hahahahaha wow I love the first one!
Dan, I’m inclined to agree with you. Around my watercooler, the libs are nearly certain that Palin will run. I know they hope she will because they think she’d be easy to beat. I told one of them, look, America just elected an inexperienced president. They’re not going to elect another inexperienced president in the next election. It will take a while before so many people put their trust in the unknown again. I like Palin just fine as a person and a politician, but I don’t want her as President. Maybe in another decade, once she’s got some other ducks in a row.
I think Romney has a good chance.
I can’t wait to be rid of Mr. It’s Above My Paygrade to Decide When They’re Alive, but Not Above My Paygrade to Make Sure the Survivors Don’t Get Any of My Obamacare.
