Stanek Sunday quote: “The more the Israelites were oppressed, the more they increased in number. The Egyptians came to dread them.”
Reading this passage today and pondering: What is the opposite of strength and power in numbers?
Eventually, Joseph, all his brothers, and that entire generation died. But the descendants of Israel were fruitful and multiplied greatly and became exceedingly numerous, so that the land was filled with them.
Then a new king, who did not know about Joseph, came to power in Egypt. He said to his people, “there are too many Israelites, and they are stronger than we are. We have to outsmart them, or they’ll increase in number….
But the more the Israelites were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread; so the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites.

Birth control is a plot to reduce the size of the military and, by extension, national security?
Make babies for the military?
What better use of a woman’s life?
No, the answer is: more and more peopl are waking up to the fact that all innocent life deserves protection, no matter how young and vulneraqble. And the pro-aborters are saying to themselves:
“There are too many pro-lifers, and they are stronger in faith than we are. We have to outsmart them, or they’ll increase in number..,But the more pro-lifers were ridiculed, the more they multiplied and spread. So the pro-aborts came to dread the pro-lifers.”
If you fast-forward a bit, you’ll read about Pharoah’s mandated abortion policy, and how brave pro-life nurses refused to heed it. God rewarded them with families of their own, and even mentioned them by name (contrast with Pharoah, whose given name is never mentioned. God seems to rank the brave midwives above the king.)
