Pro-choice blog wants you to submit your best abortion haiku
Because our readers have been SO great lately, keeping up with us and showering us with love and lots of comments, I’m thinking we need to show our appreciation.
Without you we couldn’t maintain this blog (well, we probably still would, but it would be much less fun and dynamic), and we’re so grateful for your continued support. Hell, we even get our ideas from you!
So, the reader who submits the best abortion haiku will have it featured here as an Abortioneers post!
~ Anti-Anti inviting readers to submit abortion haikus for posting, Abortioneers, December 14

Awesome carder! Too bad you can’t post those poems at Abortioneers. But that wouldn’t be “a safe space” for those that “love abortion” so they won’t allow them to be posted. Boo Hoo.
I’ve bookmarked that article and will refer to it whenever I see someone comment that “pro-choicers don’t like abortion” blah blah blah. Um, “but I love abortion”. Never thought I’d read those words. I guess if abortion is what pays your bills, you love it.

That last haiku I did, it’s the pro-aborts imposing death on all, NOT me calling for all pro-aborts to have death imposed on them. After reading me last haiku, I realized I didn’t make it crystal clear who was imposing death, and who the “all” were Thought I better make that clear. Pro-aborts are masters at twisting things around, and pretending pro-life people are advocating violence, instead of protesting the violence of the pro-aborts.

deceive the masses
alienating

Unless they repent,
they will lose their souls,

He paid the price so no one

Yet He honors their

No blood supply, huh?
HOW WRONG YOU ARE! Yolk sac does!
She had her own blood.
( Shortly after the placenta and chorion have developed, a new formation fully develops next to the embryo, called the yolk sac. The yolk sac contains no yolk and no nutrients, but it produces blood cells for the embryo until the liver, spleen, and bone marrow within the fetus have developed sufficiently enough for it to produce its own blood cells. The yolk sac will also produce sex cells in the future. That’s a couple weeks after implantation. Who lied to you about human development, Megan?)

Welcome, everyone, to the Jill Stanek Dot Com Abortion Haiku Slam!
As you can see, some of our contestants are prolific haiku artists.
So let’s take a poll: Who composed the best haiku?
We’ll have two categories: Pro-life and Pro-Choice.
Just to be fair, I’ll insert some pro-choice haikus from Abortioneers so that Reality has some competition. ;0)
Ready?
From Anti-Anti:
Abortion clinics
Are great because they’re awesome
They do abortions
From Ebony Mullien:

abortion available
allows me the choice
From Choice moments:

women trust themselves to know

And last and probably least, from L.V.:
holy sh*t the test strip
shows one, two bars of bright pink
thank god i can choose
Some basic rules: Vote once, and the haiku must follow the 5-7-5 syllable format.
Have at it!

Reality, I am not trained in apologetics, but I do believe in God, and I don’t feel that being a person of faith means you are being “controlled.”

@Christina I believe you are referring to Amy Richards, a very vocal abortion advocate. I read her story “One is Enough” (I’m pretty sure that’s the title) about 5 or 6 years ago. I think she became pregnant with triplets right after going off birth control. She then aborted two of the triplets by “selective reduction” and kept the remaining one. It should be called selective elimination. She ended up having a boy. I remember the fear she expressed in the article about buying jumbo jars of mayonaisse at Costco. How sad.

Phillymiss,
How was your first semester of social work school. I’ve been thinking of you.
You are correct that having faith does not mean one is controlled. To be a disciple is to willingly submit to a way of life, a discipline (with disciple as the root word). Such submission requires daily act of will.
Discipleship is not being controlled, but learning to master one’s own passions and proclivities. It is the ultimate act of will.

– hm, you don’t see the dichotomy there?

They’re just bent on becoming parodies of themselves, aren’t they?
By the way, the 5-7-5 thing isn’t the only idea behind a haiku. A haiku is supposed to be a three-line poem, always or usually free-verse, incorporating a theme of nature and usually having a “twist” in the final line.
