Pelosi: Committing late-term abortions is “sacred ground”
As the mother of five children (my oldest child was 6 years old the day I brought my 5th child home from the hospital), as a practicing and respectful Catholic, this is sacred ground to me when we talk about this.
I don’t think it should have anything to do with politics.
~ House minority leader Nancy Pelosi responding to a reporter’s question regarding the moral difference between an elective abortion at 26 weeks and the killing of that same infant born alive, The Weekly Standard, June 13

What’s the this and the it, Ms. Pelosi?
If you substitute Democrat for Catholic and faith for politics, then I will believe you.
Nancy Pelosi,
Proof positive that botox causes brain damage.
So, in other words, Nancy, you’re not going to answer the question because it makes your side look bad.
She is neither a practicing nor respectful Catholic. She has excommunicated herself. And yes, protecting the rights of abortionists to murder babies whether in or out of the womb is “sacred ground” to pro-aborts.
What an oxymoron! I am mother of six children, but killing babies is none of my business.
What was her point, “I let 5 live so get out of my face if I snuffed the rest?”
She’s right about one thing: it has nothing to do with politics. Maybe she could then explain why our government enacts legislation to protect those who commit infanticide and fetacide?
To clear up any confusion, Ms. Pelosi is neither a faithful nor practicing, certainly not respectful Catholic. Not by any stretch of the imagination. She is willfully resistant to her Church’s teachings on the sanctity of life and the evil of abortion. She is misrepresenting herself to the nation and misleading everyone who hears her words about the nature of being a faithful Catholic. She is fashioning a millstone around her own neck.
She was so flummoxed by that question that I’m surprised she didn’t say, “How DARE you ask me about something I have fully supported in the past and will continue to support!”
She had the “how dare you” kind of attitude, for sure.
“If you substitute Democrat for Catholic and faith for politics, then I will believe you.”
There is no basis to believe anything this ’dead babies r us’ politician says.
Especially when Nazi Pelozi resorts to regurgitating undigested words like ’sacred ground’ and ‘good catholic’ in the same halitoxic breath.
Nazi Pelozi is the embodiment of godlessness, drunk on someone elses power and competley lacking in moral/spiritual authority, a whore of Babylon and devotee of the dung goddess.
The next thing you know she will claim she does it all ’for the children’.
Grab your wallet and flee from the presence of such monumental stupidity.
“For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ [which exhales] unto God, [discernible alike] among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing:
To the latter [the spiritually dead and dying] it is an aroma [wafted] from death to death [a fatal odor, the smell of doom]; to the former it is an aroma from life to life [a vital fragrance, living and fresh]. And who is qualified (fit and sufficient) for these things? [Who is able for such a ministry? We?]
For we are not, like so many, [like hucksters making a trade of] peddling God’s Word [shortchanging and adulterating the divine message]; but like [men] of sincerity and the purest motive, as [commissioned and sent] by God, we speak [His message] in Christ (the Messiah), in the [very] sight and presence of God.”
She’s just like a Tauntaun… (you Star Wars fans will get it.)
House minority leader Nazi Pelozi responding to a reporter’s question regarding the moral difference between an elective abortion at 26 weeks and the killing of that same infant born alive,…
Nazi Pelozi should be forced to wear a necklace made from the feet of the slain infants that mass murderer and serial killler Kermit Gosnell collected as souvenirs from his multiplied sacrifices to the goddess of choice.
That is the fruit of Nazi Pelozi’s vile depravity.
Start buying the lipstick in industrial strength cause this sow is so ugly she would make a freight train take a dirt road.
If I didn’t know her, I would have interpreted the above quote as meaning “all life in the womb was sacred”…. if only!
As it is – her answer is not even an answer, just an obvious way to avoid answering the question.
Always remember that a liberal is a liberal is a liberal first, foremost, and always. Being liberal comes before being Jewish, Black, Hispanic, Catholic, Christian, clergy, male, or female. Even when it goes against self interest, being liberal will always come first.
When it comes to understanding the likes of Pelosi, no other explanation is necessary, or even possible.
“What an oxymoron! I am mother of six children, but killing babies is none of my business.”
Sorry, I meant to say five children unless you count the majority of Democrats in the House of Representatives as her sixth child.
When one of her own extolled abortionists gets fully exposed in an undeniably reprehensible practice…she feels embarrassed and ashamed by association. Even though she is an experienced speaker for a moment you can feel the raw nerve in her voice. Her body language reinforces the words she then uses to shut down the questioner as completely and as quickly as possible.
I thought the whole mini-rant about being a mother of 5 and a good catholic and such was a weird aside…kind of out of nowhere for the question…then I thought…SHE NEEDED TO TELL HERSELF THESE THINGS AT THAT MOMENT. She needed to remind herself and everyone that she is really a good life-choosing person. AAHHH, self-deception and distraction…it’s like a warm bath for a guilty conscience.
If there was a twinge of shame in her…perhaps there is some hope.
She was flustered to say the least.
Three likes, thanks!
For the rest of you, there’s a funny line in one of the films where Han Solo cuts open a tauntaun to help Luke stay alive outdoors in the snow. He says, “Ew, and I thought they smelled bad…………. ………………… ……………… on the OUTside!”
LOL! (Pause lengthened for dramatic effect!)
Nancy Pelosi …what a creep!
As a Christian, she puts me in a bad spot; I do pray for abortion advocates, but doesn’t it cut into the prayers I could pray for other people? As long as there’s life, there’s hope, yes? But, Nancy doesn’t WANT to change. At what point do we as mere humans give up on her and move on? Or, do we never give up? Is it useful to just pray one inclusive prayer for all abortion advocates? Or is it better to name them individually? I’m curious what other Christians and Catholics think.
I know that she has already ex-communicated herself, but since she and Biden boldly hauled their sorry selves to see the new Pope, I’ve got to speak up to my local bishop. She needs to be publicly excommunicated. I think what has stopped this from happening so far may be the knowledge that she is not alone. There are a lot of CINO’s who advocate for abortion, but may do so privately and perhaps the Church is unwilling to alienate the others who may be within salvation’s range.
*Sigh* It would be better for our Church to contract (temporarily) than to allow fools like Pelosi to lead others astray.
Nancy Pelosi is most certainly not a practicing OR respectful Catholic. Going to mass weekly doesn’t make you a practicing Catholic, any more than taking a karate class without actually *doing* karate makes you a black belt. Her extreme misuse of the word sacred exemplifies this fact very accurately.
What is sacred ground for Nancy Pelosi? Not life, not human dignity or value. Not the souls of millions. No, for her sacred ground is the right to tear apart babies for profit.
Mary says:
Always remember that a liberal is a liberal is a liberal first, foremost, and always.
So true, and didn’t someone once say that liberalism is a mental illness? Pelosi certainly makes a case for the latter. And while it is not exactly the same the situation with Pelosi and people paying attention to her as though her utterances actually have merit reminds me of the movie: “Being There”.
Here are more interesting words on Nancy Pelosi’s remarks:
No matter how frustrating things are on Capitol Hill, we can all be grateful for one thing: Nancy Pelosi is no longer in charge. Regardless of the GOP’s flaws, the former Speaker reminded pro-lifers how much worse the leadership could be. During a press conference yesterday, the House Minority Leader picked a fight with the men on the Judiciary Committee for passing Rep. Trent Franks’s (R-Ariz.) bill onto the House floor. First, Pelosi accused them of sexism — “All the people who voted for the bill were men,” she insisted. (Only because there are no Republican women on the committee!) Then, she took aim at the legislation, Franks’s Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, for somehow “disrespecting” the “health and safety of American women.”
That’s interesting, since studies show that late-term abortions — which this measure bans — are actually more dangerous to mothers. Complications, like uterine perforations, are much more common in late-term abortions because the baby is so much bigger. Far from “disrespecting” women, this bill protects them! Families like Jennifer Morbelli’s, who is still mourning the loss of the bright kindergarten teacher, wish a law like Franks’s had been in place when their daughter was pregnant. Jennifer died in February of complications to a late-term abortion, and her parents, who say they “wake up every day in the valley of darkness and pain,” are shattered.
John McCormack of the Weekly Standard pushed Rep. Pelosi to explain. Responding to the topic that she raised, McCormack asked the former Speaker about the “moral difference” between late-term abortions and the gruesome newborn killings of Kermit Gosnell. With an air of complete disgust, she fired back, “You’re probably enjoying that question a lot, I can see you savoring it. Let me just tell you this,” she said, seething, “What was done in Philadelphia was reprehensible and everybody condemned it. For them to decide to disrespect a judgment a woman makes about her reproductive health is reprehensible. Next question.”
Undeterred, McCormack pressed harder. “What’s the moral difference? I just asked a simple question.” Angry, Pelosi responded, “This is not the issue. They are saying that there’s no abortion. It would make it a federal law that there would be no abortion in our country. You’re taking the extreme case.” Maybe Pelosi needs to pass this bill to find out what’s in it, because H.R. 1797 does not, in any way, ban all abortions in America. Like most liberals, she misrepresented the legislation because she knows she can’t win the debate on the merits. Strong majorities of Americans agree with the Judiciary Committee that abortion should be outlawed at the 20-week mark when babies can feel the excruciating pain.
Obviously, the questioning hit a little too close to home for Pelosi, whose party desperately wants to distance itself from the future Gosnells their abortion culture is creating. When she couldn’t lie her way out of the debate, Pelosi tried to dodge it by invoking faith and motherhood. “I’ve responded to you to the extent that I’m going to respond to you. Because I want to tell you something. As the mother of five children, my oldest child was 6 years old the day I brought my 5th child home from the hospital, as a practicing and respectful Catholic, this is sacred ground to me.”
Sacred ground? Let’s face it. The only ground “sacred” to Nancy Pelosi is the U.S. Supreme Court, where abortion-on-demand became the law of the land.
Fortunately for pro-lifers, Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) is, in fact, a practicing Catholic, and when he was asked why the House was “wasting time” on Franks’s bill, he stood his ground. “Listen, jobs continues to be our number-one concern. And while we continue to be focused on it, there are other important issues that we have to deal with. And after the Kermit Gosnell case and the publicity that it received, I think the legislation is appropriate. And I hope those who have voted against such proposals in the past will change their minds.” It’s never the wrong time to do what’s right. Remind your representative of that and urge his support on H.R. 1797!

I don’t even gag anymore when I hear shocking speeches like that. I remember the first time I heard Mara Liasson say to Tony Snow (RIP) that “abortion is the sacrament of the left”. I actually had nightmares. I had previously believed them when they said they wanted abortion to be rare, that they wanted to limit abortions on the supply side by distributing condoms (LOL!). But I came to realize that they LOVE abortion. They LOVE it! So we shouldn’t be surprised by anything they say. Or do.
Sacred ground…..Pelosi wouldn’t know sacred ground if it hit her in the face at 100mph! She is so far from Catholic, or Christian.
I can’t get what she said out of my mind. Its like her words came out really slow. Two things the idea abortion is holy ground is an abomination and secondly if its not political why do we need laws? Do you think that woman is capable of reason? Does she know how stupid she looks?
Roe v Wade allows for any abortion; any time. I am sick and tired of hearing so called feminists supporting this as though its good for women. Its ignorant of scientific fact that the life inside her is a separate entity. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
