Obama’s Mount Rushmore sculpture should look something like this
http://tommcfeeley.com/content/see-hear-speak-no-evil.jpg
I’m voting for #6, because it was the only one that actually made me laugh out loud.
JDC,
Obama’s trying to emulate Bill Clinton. “No mas pantelones!”

ts – The Mt. Rushmore with ‘speak on evil’ was really me trying not to throw up. Everything about obamacare makes me sick!
“Everything about obamacare makes me sick.”
So the idea that people have the right to healthcare makes you sick? That’s sick.
No BV. Patty didn’t say healthcare makes her sick, she said Obamacare does. And who told you the lie that Obamacare gives people a right to healthcare. I have read that even the government admits that tens of millions of people will still be uninsured.
They’re still uninsured because their state governments probably didn’t accept Medicaid expansion dollars from the federal govt., truthseeker. And the basic premise of obamacare is that the emergency room shouldn’t be anybody’s PCP.
Bluevelvet…obamacare didn’t provide insurance for everyone. It forces people to buy it whether they can afford it or not or whether they even want it or not. And have you ever dealt with medicaid? Who WANTS to be on medicaid??? So the rich elitists (like congress) get their perfect healthcare and the poor get…medicaid? Awesome.
Btw, my premiums have skyrocketed already in anticipation of ACA. Thanks so much to bleeding hearts like yourself who voted for these knuckleheads that continue to make life that much harder for people like my husband and myself who are barely hanging on to the middle class.
“Who WANTS to be on medicaid???”
Well, when the choice is Medicaid or no healthcare at all, that’s a pretty easy choice.
Don’t even bother with truthseeker, BV, I’ve told him literally like fifty million times that the uninsured are mostly due to the lack of Medicaid expansion in GOP states. He already knows it, but he’d rather blame it on the Dems. And he also is fine with emergency rooms doing primary care, so that argument’s a nonstarter as well.
Now that I’m married, we’ll be paying for health insurance for our whole family. And thanks to morons that supported Obamacare, we’ll be back to square 1, barely scraping by paycheck-to-paycheck because of sky-high premium increases.
Eff all of you. It’s official: you’ve helped screw my family over. Go to h—.
Hi Jack,
Uninsured are also young people, who, being young people, don’t see the need to be covered or may only have a catastrophic policy and never see a doctor otherwise.
The fact people are uninsured doesn’t mean they don’t get care. My daughter prefers to see an alternative care nurse practitioner which she pays out of pocket. My husband also sees her and I see an alternative care physician who I also pay out of pocket and take the tax write offs.
Also, with people being bumped off their plans, like I was, there’s a problem of finding new doctors and being very limited in your choice, which we weren’t under our old plan. This will prove a problem for many of my co workers, who actually believed Obama’s promises, see my link on the other thread, that they would keep their plans and their doctors. Well guess what. They have to find new doctors at the only clinic our new policy covers. That’s assuming of course the doctors are willing and able to take them. They can only stretch themselves so thin. And what if the people are perfectly happy with the doctors they have and don’t want to switch? Tough crap. I may have to switch opthamologists, I am being treated for glaucoma, and I’m not at all happy about it. I mean the dear leader did promise, did he not?
So Obamacare has solved what problems? Maybe some doctors will take cash and offer patients a discount to directly pay. That may another way around for people like my co workers. Assuming of course the doctor offers that alternative.
Also, concerning the ER. You have no idea the people we saw in the dead of nite in winter who had doctors and insurance/Medicaid/medicare who wanted something for a head cold for all 5 of their kids because they were leaving on vacation in the morning. Or one kid is sick so we thought we’d bring in the whole family. After all its “free”. Then there were the people who would so shamelessly abuse the “free” rescue squad service to the point where it became necessary to charge.
Yes there are people legitimately in need and they are the ones who will pay the price. But don’t assume that everyone visiting the ER can’t get care somewhere else.
Hi X,
Hey come on, you’re imagining things. Didn’t Der Fuehrer promise you could keep your policy and doctor?
I must admit the immense satisfaction I get from watching my Obama schmoozing co workers spitting tacks over this. One was so bent out of shape before the election because Romney would cut off funding to Big Bird! What better reason to support Obama! So freaking donate to public television then if Big Bird is so important to you. Its not like you can’t well afford to. Of course, being the typical liberal, everyone else is supposed to pay. Well, she can at least take solace in Big Bird being alive and doing well as she hunts for new doctors and hopes she can get special dispensation for her children to continue seeing the cardiologists they have had to visit since infancy.
Haven’t been following the details closely (we’ve had socialised medicine in the UK since the 1940s) but in general terms I would be worried if my Head of State told me I could keep something I already owned – as though this could ever be in doubt, and as though the government had anything to say either way about how I dispose of my property.
Congratulations xalisae!! I think of you often and pray you and your family are doing well.
The lies that were told to get him elected, this bill shoved down our throats and the lies that were told to get him re-elected are phenomenal. I have talked to some great docs who saw the train wreck coming before this debacle was passed and let me tell you the whole bill is a “death panel” for innocent unborn babies as well as the elderly and infirm. Death panels- like Sarah Palin would say “you betcha”.
Explain this: the “exchanges” are supposed to be a place where you can easily shop for health care insurance. Supposedly, you could click in some info, such as age, etc., and whether for self or a family plan, then have options pop up. If you click “silver plan,” you would get the list of plans meeting the “silver” plan definition.
It seems that, after that, if you decided to go ahead and buy that plan, you would “click” and go to that company’s/plan’s purchase page.
What reason is there to have ANY “account” to peruse the exchange webpage, at all?
Doe the govt confirm all of your info, then give that to the company, then the company trusts that the info conveyed to them by the exchange website is accurate?
The various companies are not allowed to qualify you? If they do qualify you at all, or even if they run through all the info just to confirm, that is repetitive.
Why have the ‘exchange’ acct at all?
In many cases, Insurance plans in the individual market kept premiums low by locking sick people out of the system and providing only minimal coverage. Paying a $50 monthly premium was probably fantastic until you had to pay out-of-pocket for an ambulance.
:) Xalisae, my dear lady, it’s a pleasure to see you back on the forum, even in such a frustrating thread!
For those who would find it applicable: if one is a professing Christian, here’s an alternative to Obamacare which is specifically exempted from the Obamacare/HHS penalties, etc.:
http://samaritanministries.org/
The ACA will make premiums comparable to those that exist in the individual market now BV. Those that need it most will be unable to afford it…
Jack,
the nerve of those GOP states for letting something like a balanced budget get in the way of entitlements!!
Even today the HHS isn’t able to explain the rules for Obamacare. Oh, that’s right, they were supposed to build their exchanges in order to find out what was supposed to be in them.
