Easter Word: “I have seen the Lord!”
Then the disciples went back to their homes, but Mary stood outside the tomb crying.
As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot. They asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?” “They have taken my Lord away,” she said, “and I don’t know where they have put him.”
At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus. “Woman,” he said, “why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?” Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.”
Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means Teacher). Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.””
Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her.

To the Christian who accepts the basic teachings of Scripture there are a number of great and vital truths concerning the Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God. Not only the great doctrines, but also the example of Christ humbling Himself to come in human flesh as a servant as well as a king. (See Philippians 2:5-11). To those of us who have been involved in the Pro-Life movement, we know that our Lord’s human life began at conception in the womb of the Virgin Mary via the Holy Spirit. (See Luke 1:26-38). I love the Resurrection accounts in Scripture. And I especially love the story of the risen Christ on the first Resurrection day joining the two discouraged followers on the Road to Emmaus. They had given up all hope after Jesus was crucified and buried until His revelation to them caused their hearts to burn within them as Jesus opened the Scripture to them during their walk and revealed Himself as He broke bread with them. (See Luke 24:13-35)

Hello, Everyone –
We Christians have several avenues of evidence contributing to our belief. One is that there are direct prophesies about the predicted, expected Messiah that were fulfilled.
There are other avenues.
One is that certain things in the Old Testament parallel things in the New Testament. Many things. Twelve tribes, twelve disciples, etc.
Here is one that occurred to me, regarding this specific resurrection account from John, when reading one day:
John 20:11-12: But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept she stooped to look inside the tomb. And she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and one at the feet.”
Compare this: two angels at either end of the place where the body of Jesus had been set, with this scripture from the establishment of the ark: Exodus 25:19: “Make one cherub on the one end [of the ark], and one cherub on the other end.”
In other words, one at the head and one at the feet of the mercy seat, where man meets God.
Could these two angels in John, at either end of this resting place, be yet another parallel of a detail from the Old Testament?
