McCain church lit drop includes Born Alive

According to CBN today…
The Brody File has obtained this piece of campaign literature being distributed in multiple states through the McCain campaign’s multi-Church outreach program….
Basically, the literature draws a sharp contrast between McCain and Obama on the issues near and dear to social conservatives.
Let’s face it. Evangelicals are going to have to come out in droves for McCain in places like CO, OH, FL and other key battleground states if McCain is going to pull this off. By picking Palin McCain banked on strong Evangelical support. He;s going to get a good share for sure but this year he’s going to need to really crank out the turnout. Why? Because Obama is doing better than McCain among Independent voters and Obama’s campaign is very strong organizationally. Will conservative Evangelicals crank it up a notch?
I think so. The closer the election date comes, the more horrified Evangelicals I talk to become at the prospect of an Obama presidency.

at least this deals with real issues. Those positions (although simplified a bit) are legitimate reasons to choose a candidate.
The issues are important, but I would like to remind people to pray, pray, pray, that the hearts of the voters will be open to LIFE.
Issues? What? Good reasons to vote for someone?
Puh-lease I want to know how much Sarah Palin’s wardrobe costs and I want to see who badmouths who better and I want to see who can be called the dirtiest name!
*positively dripping sarcasm*
Finally. A legitimate reason to vote for someone. What they support and oppose. Though, of course, as Hal said, it is simplified. Still it’s one of the best things I’ve seen posted here about the elections. Probably the only good one.
Okay, so McCain is against teaching kids about “good touch” and “bad touch” – things that could keep a kid from getting molested, or could keep a molester from getting away with it.
Seriously, McCain has gone a long way to ruin Obama, and all he’s done is make a fool out of himself. Some “hero”.
Also in terms of interpreting the constitution – does he intend to put Habius Corpus back into the constitution or just let that one get away.
Okay, so McCain is against teaching kids about “good touch” and “bad touch” – things that could keep a kid from getting molested, or could keep a molester from getting away with it.
I don’t think eight year olds are old enough to see that video “Good Touch, Bad Touch”, much less kindergartners. They’ll have nightmares. I had a chance to preview the version for third grade – fifth grade at the Catholic grade school with several other parents. The principal listened to our reservations and found a more tame alternative. We also were able to convince him to show it in the evening when the childrens’ parents could also attend, in case there were questions from the kids. It was as creepy as the Planned Parenthood “Take Care Down There” videos. No thanks.
I think we can teach our own children about keeping safe, and make sure they are well supervised and have the self-confidence to stand up for themselves without the schools getting involved.
What God-fearing Christian could believe that Obama is a Christian?
One who has got no clue as to what God commands about these issues.
Parents (who aren’t abusive) should be teaching their children that its wrong for strangers to touch them in their private areas. And what would “Good touch” be?
Oh no! If McCain wins not only will we be at war with Iran we”l be stuck in a perpetual musical!!!!

At least if Obama wins there will be waffles on every table:
“Why can’t I just eat my waffle?”
-Barack Obama, after being asked a foreign policy question by a reporter while visiting a diner in Pennsylvania
A “good touch” is something that the adult would have no problem doing in public. If you don’t want to hug the child in public in front of their family you have no business hugging them in private. I just wouldn’t touch a child in private unless it was necessary. No adult should ever ask a child to keep a secret. Secrets are not meant for children, not even “good” ones.
Jess,
who are you voting for?
Actually Leah I though $150,000 was a little much for her and her families clothing but then I went to my favorite online clothing store and put all the things I would buy if I had money to waste on “nice” clothes on my wish list and within 5 minutes I was over $3,000. And I only got half way through the dresses. If she wore the same suit over and over again how much would she get criticized? If she wore what I wore how much would she get criticized (especially if she went bra-less like me, lol)?
The right person Jasper. Someone stole my absentee ballot form and I freaked out and called my town hall to see if I could get another ASAP. I said, “Hurry! We have to make sure the right guy gets in office!”
Are you out of state at school Jess?
“The right person Jasper”
Oh com’on Jess, who are you voting for?
No Jasper but I’m about 2 and a half hours away from home. Also with running I wouldn’t be able to come home.
I won’t tell you who I’m voting for but I’ll tell you who you should be voting for:

Ok I’ll give you a hint, “Dog’s best friend.”
Well the contrasts between the two could not be more obvious.
John, I’ll fight with you for the unborn.
I’ll fight with you for the Constitution.
I’ll fight with you for the defense of marriage.
I’ll fight with you for our country.
I’ll fight with you John,I’ll fight with you!

You do realize that statistically speaking it is parents or someone close to the child that typically engages in “bad touch” behavior. Knowledge is power. And a kid deserves enough power to keep themselves safe.
It is not up to children to “keep themselves safe.” That is up to us. The adults. My role as a parent is to lovingly instruct my children and make darn sure I am aware of ALL other adults that are with them.
One more thought. Adults kill their own children in the womb. How can those children “keep themselves safe?”
A fetus is not a child. If you care more about that which is not objectivly alive than the safety of that which actually is… just wow. Its like spending all your money on your pets when you’ve got an actual child that is starving or needing help. Thats messed up
Hi Yo La. Could you quote some scientific texts which say that the fetus is not alive? Thanks.
Yo La,
If he/she is not a child…..than what is he/she? A dog? A Cat? a Mouse? A fish? A chicken? A snake? A turtle? A chair? A table?

Yes, I do realize it is often a person the child knows – which is why “stranger danger” isn’t taught any more. Five year olds have no “power” in this world. Practically, I don’t know what you could mean. Their brains are still so undeveloped. As Carla said, parents have to always know who their children are with.
Small children are naturally shy around strangers and I think it is a very good trait to promote. As an aside, it bothers me when I see parents encouraging their tiny children to talk to strangers (do they think it’s cute?). Vice a versa, it bothers me when a complete stranger will walk up to a young child and ask their name and try to start a conversation. How do we teach our children to be safe when other adults, knowingly or unknowingly are sabotaging that?
Recently, a man came up to me and a little girl I was taking care of, as I was sitting in a doctor’s office. He tried to engage her in conversation. When she wouldn’t answer his questions, he looked at me… I told him she was probably taught to not talk to strangers. Did he stop trying? No. That’s the kind of person I would be leery of with my child in the future.

An acorn, though an oak, is not a tree.
“Child” is a stage of development.
Doug…You are talking about the legal definition of child.

Janet 4:27, good post!
Bethany, granted that we all don’t agree when “child” applies, but it is indeed a stage of development, i.e. even with our disagreement on when it starts, we agree that it ends – age 18 or 21 or whatever.
