I realize Townhall.com has some interesting cartoons but I am no longer a fan of the website. I started receiving daily e-mails from them that I did not request. I am a grad student and simply dod not have time to read such mailings so, as a rule, I do not subscribe to them. I requested to be removed from the subscription list last DECEMBER and, to this day, they refuse to honor my request.
I have made repeated requests to be removed that are ignored. I have reported them to both the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission. Not only has Townhall.com refused to stop sending the daily newsletter, they now send me multiple malings every day!!!
Perhaps some of your readership can advise me as to how I can stop receiving these e-mails?
Create an email filter to send Townhall mail to the trashcan.
What a collection! Each cartoon nailed it! Perspective, cover-ups, duplicity, and the ridiculous–it is all there. Even the “humorous” tasered baseball player cartoon reflects an unsettling occurence we are seeing too much of. I don’t think the overly exuberant baseball fan recently tasered posed any danger to anybody, and it seems a bit of trend that there are numerous incidents across the country where similar abuse of tasers have occured. There was a story recently where a guy died after being tasered.
Mary,
This ones for you.
From a bumper sticker I saw on my way home from work on Friday.
“Trigger, you want some hay?”
“No thanks Roy. I’m already stuffed.”
They are now going to my trash can but I still have to spend time deleting them from my trash can as it does not automatically delete them.
Hi Ken,
LOL. A hearty hi-oo Silver to you.
Did you hear Kimasabe really means s—head?
Mary,
In Spanish ‘que no sabe’ mean that he/she/it does not know
and
‘tonto’ means idiot.
WARNING: The following joke is ‘bad’ as in an attempt at humor so lame that the only thing that is funny about it is that it is sooooooooo bad.
Few people know that. in 1912, Hellmann’s Mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York.
This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico. But as we know, the great ship did not make it to New York. The ship hit an iceberg and sank, and the cargo was forever lost.
The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which they still observe to this day.
The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th is known, of course, as Sinko de Mayo.
Ken,
Thanks for the warning. Groannnnnnn. :)
Tonto does in fact mean “idiot” in Spanish.
Ken,
If Kimasabe in fact means s.., well you know, one could hardly blame poor Tonto!
