Blogger dispels myth that pro-life women are “sexually repressed”

I felt deeply regretful about giving my body to someone who did not value me. But I didn’t learn my lesson then. Not yet. It took a sordid, soul-crushing, disgusting, short-lived “relationship” with another not-very-nice dude to really drive the point home.

After that, I vowed before God that the next time I had sex, it would be on my wedding night. And, by His Grace, I kept that promise. I was married two months ago to a man who treats me like a queen. And he was no virgin, either. He was 43 when we married. But he had learned the lesson I learned: that sexual libertinism is not liberating. It destroys you a little piece at a time….

Pro-life summit: Where are we?

As I indicated yesterday, I attended a summit meeting of pro-life activists and apologists in Columbus, Ohio, on Monday and Tuesday, spearheaded by Mark Harrington of Created Equal.

The summit was to assess where the movement is at in light of the reelection of Barack Obama, also bearing in mind the fact we’re nearing the 40 year mark of legalized abortion in the U.S.

Heads of various groups from around the country and Canada gave their analyses, many via Skype, and also provided a snapshot of their plans for 2013.

I was looking forward to this summit, because in my opinion the paradigm shifted with the reelection of Barack Obama, and I was fumbling with how as a pro-lifer to respond.

Abby Johnson to non-traditional pro-life groups: Don’t mock us

I am proud to support non-traditional prolife groups… prolife atheists, prolife pagans, gay prolifers, etc. but I am sick and tired of some in those groups criticizing and mocking the mainstream. You want me to tolerate you, but then you mock me? I don’t think so. ~ Former Planned Parenthood employee turned pro-life advocate Abby […]

Why the preborn have the right to use their mothers’ bodies

What is the nature and purpose of the kidney versus the nature and purpose of the uterus? The answer tells us why a woman is not obligated to give her child her kidney but is obligated to “give” her child her uterus. … The kidneys exist for the health and proper functioning of the body […]

The pro-choice delusion

I am pro-life because of information. I was pro-choice because of lack of information…. This is not to say everyone who is pro-choice lacks information. There are people right now working in clinics whose job it is to count the body parts and make sure there are no arms or fingers or heads left inside […]

Opposing views of humanity = “irreconcilable” views on abortion

Left-liberalism seeks to present the Irish position on abortion as obscurantist for reasons relating to blind obedience to the Catholic Church. But this fails fundamentally to understand either religion or abhorrence of abortion. Catholics are people who understand reality in a particular way, not people who have been given a list of things they must believe in.

The Catholic position on abortion arises from a moral perspective centred on the dignity of the human person. Catholicism is the expression of this perspective, not its motivation. A majority of Irish people continues to hold to a principled opposition to abortion, and would almost certainly do so even if the Catholic Church withdrew its objections, which is unlikely….

Abortion support rising? If so, thank the GOP for aiding and abetting

Rasmussen released a new poll on November 14 indicating that 54% of likely voters now consider themselves pro-choice, while only 38% say they are pro-life.

In the aftermath of the election I told friends to expect a bump in abortion support.

I’m not saying I believe the pendulum has swung the other way by 15 points since the May Gallup poll.

But of course the dial has moved, given the fact Obama and Democrats made such a huge pitch for abortion, and given the fact they embedded themselves, pardon the pun, as the champions of free contraception.
