Animal lover equates elk shooting with Newtown massacre

I don’t see a whole lot of difference between the shooting of this defenseless elk and the shooting of school children in Connecticut. ~ Unnamed female attendee at a vigil for an elk (nicknamed “Big Boy,” “George,” and “Elmo” by neighborhood residents) shot by a Boulder, Colorado off-duty police officer, as quoted by CBS News, […]

Spread the anti-abortion message anywhere and everywhere with drop cards

I wrote in early December that the result of the presidential election is a reminder that stopping abortion starts locally.

Our first responsibility is to make abortion unthinkable in our own family, home church, neighborhood schools, and community.

The group Abolish Human Abortion has developed a series of inexpensive drop cards. Buy them and carry them with you. Drop them everywhere.

Todd Bullis of World Life Organization explains the thinking:

Help spread the message of abolition every where you go.

Most people are happy to live in a world where discussion of abortion only occurs in churches and political stump speeches.

Most people want to drink their coffee, eat their fast food, watch their movies, and go about their day without thinking about abortion and considering what it might take to effect its abolition.

Get real: Obama and the nation sanction the killing of all school children

… just a few years before they get there.

BTW, I would add “BEFORE, DURING, & AFTER THEIR BIRTH” to the sign, although there wouldn’t have been enough room, I suppose.

Nevertheless, Abolish Human Abortion’s point on the hypocrisy of our nation and our president is irrefutable.

As Rev. Clenard Childress wrote at RenewAmerica on January 2:

Don’t water down the March for Life

I spotted the above graphic on the Holy Angels Youth Group website (out of Chagrin Falls, Ohio).

Although the graphic was certainly well-intended, it bothered me.

The annual March for Life is scheduled on or near January 22, the anniversary of the infamous U.S. Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion throughout all of America in 1973.

Although the M4L website states it is “the collective effort of grassroots prolife Americans to assure that our state and federal laws shall protect the right to life of each human in existence at fertilization,” I think clearly the March is by-and-large a huge demonstration taking a stand against abortion.

Particularly for the above graphic to state the March is to make a statement “against the death penalty,” and to even list it first – before abortion – offends me.

Liberal logic: Founding Fathers – anti-gun but pro-abortion?

Abortion; death of the most innocent. A total of 827,609 abortions were reported to CDC for 2007. In 2008, approximately 1.21 million abortions took place in the U.S. No current data is available. Or, bluntly – 3,325 every day of the year in 2008, meaning 139 innocent lives every hour. Or, 5.3 Newtown catastrophes every […]

Disconnect: Is it ever acceptable to rob children of their lives?

… [T]he vast majority of Americans do not consider children to be vermin. They value children highly and are devastated when children are slaughtered. They just don’t make the connection between the visible child in the playground and the invisible child in the womb….

[Abortion providers] make no connection whatsoever between the child-killing that they devote their lives to and the lives of the baby in the stroller or the second-grader on the playground, any more than a Nazi would make a connection between the Jewish grandmother he’s shoving into a mass grave and his own grandmother.

So we need to take this real value that they place on the children that they can see and work with it.

Because of Christ’s incarnation, “every life is deemed special”

Mary was surely a remarkable young woman. When the angel Gabriel came to her and announced she would bear the Messiah as a virgin, Mary embraced the will of God knowing the sacrifices it would likely bring (Luke 1:26-38). The plans for her marriage would be scuttled. For when the news of her pregnancy reached her espoused husband, Joseph, he would seek to put her away privately. It was only after Joseph was confronted by an angel himself that he decided to follow through on the marriage (Matthew 1:18-20).

At the pro-life summit earlier this month we heard from Stephanie Gray, the Gen Y founder of the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform.

Many of the activist groups represented at the summit mentioned they were beginning to take the pro-life message to middle schools as well as high schools and colleges. They noted they are seeing pro-abortion indoctrination at younger ages.

Here is one of their tactics for both high school and middle school campuses.
