Duran Duran’s John Taylor likes Paul Ryan, with one exception

Hey, girls (on film), he’s not just a pretty face! Duran Duran’s John Taylor seems to agree with many on Twitter, including Tawny Kitaen, who called Joe Biden an “embarrassing jackass.” The consensus is that Joe Biden’s debate performance was disgraceful, from the creepy smirk to the cranky old man attitude, capped off by his […]

Hollywood celebs claim abortion a “fundamental… human right”

A large cast of luminaries—including Kevin Bacon, Sandra Bernhard, Billy Crudup, Olympia Dukakis, Jenna Fischer, Caroline Kennedy, Lisa Kudrow, Tea Leoni, Audra McDonald, Oliver Platt, Martha Plimpton, Amy Poehler, Kyra Sedgwick, Sarah Silverman, Meryl Streep [pictured right], and Louis Zorich—have signed on to support the campaign and to speak out via a series of PSAs, […]

Hollywood’s Penny Marshall: Pro-choice but glad she gave 1st baby life

She is also vocal about her support for abortion rights after her own experience with unplanned pregnancies. Her first pregnancy with her boyfriend-turned-husband resulted in her daughter, Tracy. Her second, following her second marriage and divorce to Hollywood director Rob Reiner, resulted in an abortion. “I’m pro-choice. But I’m glad that there was no choice […]

Sean Lennon to Twitter foe: “You’re an argument for abortion”

~ John Lennon’s son Sean, in argument on Twitter against fracking, September 12, as quoted by Huffington Post.

Actress Drew Barrymore “can’t wait” for this baby, and more

I can’t wait until I have my children…. I love the idea that they don’t have to do something that they have no interest in, that they can do something completely opposite if they want to. I will be so surprised if they don’t want to do something involving food or wine or art, but […]

Michael Jackson: “I don’t want to offend” post-abortive women

Jackson isn’t the first recording artist to explore the controversial subject of abortion in song. It has also surfaced in the work of Neil Young, Madonna, Sinead O’Connor, and Lauryn Hill, among others. In “Abortion Papers,” Jackson approaches the matter carefully (and ambiguously): rather than presenting a dogmatic political perspective, he personalizes it through the story of a conflicted girl raised in a deeply religious home and her Bible-admonishing father. In his notes for the track, Jackson wrote, “I have to do it in a way so I don’t offend girls who have gotten abortions or bring back guilt trips so it has to be done carefully…. I have to really think about it.”

Kourtney Kardashian: I don’t believe in the pill anymore

I need to see what it’s like when I have two, but [having kids] is what life is about…. I’m not going on the pill [after giving birth to Penelope]. I don’t believe in it anymore! ~ Kourtney Kardashian, mother of 2-yr-old Mason and 8-wk-old Penelope with boyfriend Scott Disicks, and wanting more, as quoted […]

Meet Snooki’s “little meatball”

When I got pregnant, everything changed. The partying is long gone. I’m a new person. ~ MTV’s Jersey Shore star Snooki, sharing the positive effect of being a mother in an interview with People, September 5 (During her first ultrasound Snooki said her baby looked like “a little meatball,” hence the title of the post.) […]
