Duran Duran’s John Taylor likes Paul Ryan, with one exception
Hey, girls (on film), he’s not just a pretty face! Duran Duran’s John Taylor seems to agree with many on Twitter, including Tawny Kitaen, who called Joe Biden an “embarrassing jackass.”
The consensus is that Joe Biden’s debate performance was disgraceful, from the creepy smirk to the cranky old man attitude, capped off by his shameful laughing at the issues.
Taylor goes on to say that he likes Paul Ryan, with one exception.

I just tweeted him back. I hope he answers. :3

It’s highly likely the reason he can’t get with the pro-life “deal” is he’s multi-post-abortive.
Take a hugely successful band based on exploiting sex and it’s a high probability he’s had sex with groupies. Guys don’t really have to know whether they are post-abortive, because promiscuous sex alone triggers post-abortive behaviors. I imagine abortion works as a comforter because the potential to be the father of many children would be great. I always thought about the possibility of someone coming up to me one day and asking – “Do you remember…” and bringing up a story that would be pretty much undeniable.
The 1980’s was the peak abortion period. Taylor has some thinking to do if he wants to be intellectually honest.
Ryan’s answer was great: faith, science and reason informs his thinking. I’d like to see Ryan make the argument on a broader scale with more exposure. (I’m guessing he knows about SLED).

That “pro-life deal” is a hard one to “get with.” It makes so much more sense to “get with” people who want to murder other human beings. *eye roll*

Huh. Strange that he didn’t use the term “anti-choice.”
I had an enormous crush on this guy when I was maybe 8 years old.
Can this dude even vote here?

“..but I can’t get with the not killing pre-born babies deal”.
There…fixed it for him. Say what you REALLY mean, John.
I do agree with him about Joe “Chuckles The Clown” Biden, though.

Um, isn’t he British? Last time I checked, the UK had no electoral votes.

Wikipeida says Taylor lives “primarily in Los Angele”. Doesn’t say whether he’s a US citizen.
My goodness, those guys were my jr. high heart throbs. Seeing them now makes me want to laugh.

There may be an increasing number of people who are pro-life but don’t want to identify as “pro-life.” A lot of myths about pro-lifers abound and some people who don’t really understand actual pro-lifers might be turned off to us in general based on bad coverage in the media. I don’t know if everyone who doesn’t identify as “pro-life” is actually pro-abortion. They might not be.
In the 70’s and 80’s, a lot of women wanted equal pay for equal work but they didn’t want to throw their hats in the same ring as feminists because they didn’t like what feminists seemed to stand for or how feminists are seen by popular culture. It’s like the anti-smoking movement: a lot of people didn’t identify themselves as “anti-smoking” but they thought it was gross and unhealthy.
Let’s be ready for people who hate abortion, would like to see it illegal, but don’t necessarily want to join our “club.” Among ourselves, at least on the internet, I’ve seen a lot of accusations that this person or that one isn’t “pro-life enough.” Well, we’ve got a lot of work ahead of us, those of us that want to end abortion. Let’s leave room in our hearts for allies that may not talk like allies. Not that this musician is one, but what if? What if a celebrity could appeal to like-minded people who have hated abortion all along but don’t want to identify with a group? We could use more folks like that. There is a tipping point a culture reaches, when a percentage of people with an idea grows and reaches a critical mass. We are on the cusp of being able to take advantage of this phenomenon to end abortion. Let’s keep our minds, eyes, and ears open, for there are literally millions of lives to be saved.

“some people who don’t really understand actual pro-lifers might be turned off to us in general based on bad coverage in the media.”
I agree that the media coverage is mostly unsympathetic, but I also wonder why so many prolifers act in such stupid ways. Ex. I have some friends who taped themselves while they were praying outside of an abortion clinic and sent me the link to watch. One of their group was yelling to women as they went into the clinic, “Why do you hate your baby, mom? Why do you hate your baby??” uhhh…yeah. I’m prolife and I don’t want to be associated with that either.
Even at the clinic I go to sometimes, I’m a bit embarrassed. When a woman and her companion go into the clinic, the whole group (except me) runs to the edge of the buffer zone and starts screaming at them. I realize that, because there’s a buffer zone, we can’t have a conversation in a normal tone of voice. But idk, I just don’t think everyone yelling at the woman as she goes into the clinic is likely to bring her over for a conversation.
I was outside of a clinic one time and one of the men said in a raised (but not shrieking) voice to a woman about to enter the clinic, “Hi, my name is (name) and I’d like to talk to you today about how we can help you keep your baby,” or something like that. I thought that if I were that woman, hearing a prolifer give himself a name and speak in a somewhat normal tone of voice would be more effective in making me want to stop and talk. It makes the prolifer seem more like a real person than just some anonymous person yelling.

A handsome man like this is expected to relate to women on a sexual basis.
When I mentioned to a woman that I was friends with Yuri Nesterenko, founder of the Anti-Sexual Stronghold, her first question was, “Is he butt-ugly?”
I told her Yuri looks perfectly normal and even a bit on the handsome side. He is also opposed to romantic love and sexuality except for the minimal amount necessary to sustain population.
Other than outlawing abortion, what can we do to decrease the expectation that men will relate to women on a sexual basis?

It make a big, big difference to a panicky un-expected Mom to hear a calm voice-of-reason. Any encouragement we can give to a woman caught in the headlights of an unexpected pregnancy is awsome, because the government and media are more likely to run shows on single Mom’s who neglect or abuse their kids than they are pieces on Mom’s like Miss Beiber, (Justin Beiber’s mom). Thank God, Mike Huckabee did and she wrote a book, but more often than not, women don’t get the positive attention they deserve when they are “OMG! Oops! Oh CRUD!” pregnant.
John Taylor, get with the Pro-life deal, it’s the only way to truly ‘be.’ Besides pro-life guys are way cuter, because they embrace the spontenaity that is the process of living, and don’t kill the experience of life with joy-killing micromanagement efforts, that oftentimes backfire and hurt people, and spin things out of control, or a slow death by stagnation. The culture of life is way more interesting, than the culture of death. He’s almost there.

Oh wait – we care about the opinions of celebrities again?
Moderators – can I request a standard sidebar that says “Today we care about celebrity opinions” or “Today we don’t care about celebrity opinions”. I can’t keep up.

Kevin W Boyd – Barky was in England for a fundraiser, which Mick Jagger and some other famous Brits attended. He hangs around with the rich and famous all the time. For some reason its okay for the Kennedys, John Kerry, etc., to have millions (Barky’s not exactly poor either) but when a Republican is rich, that means s/he is evell, dishonest, and earned the money by ripping off the poor.
