Stanek weekend Q: Will attempts to destigmatize abortion work in pro-life favor?

downloadPro-choice activists are on a new bandwagon: To normalize abortion, no sob stories are allowed.

For instance, excusing abortions for rape and incest is bad. To do so is to say some abortions are justifiable, some are not. According to post-abortive Merritt Tierce in a New York Times op ed:

Abortion industry in crisis: Planned Parenthood seizes control of shrinking turf

  • Americans United for Life board member Monique Chireau was quoted in a piece at the New York Times, but AUL says the NYT failed to report some pertinent information:

Abortion data in the United States is VOLUNTARILY reported by abortionists – and some states don’t report at all.

In contrast to most important health indicators – births, deaths, cancer, HIV, STDs, etc. – there is no national reporting law requiring that abortions or their complications be reported to national health officials or agencies. Our model legislation has been designed to address this void. And to require women and girls be given all the information available before having an abortion or taking a life-ending drug.

15 reasons why pro-choicers think pro-lifers are crushing them

abortion laws pro-life winning

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Roe v Wade in January 2013, Time magazine published a surprising and iconic cover story about how the pro-choice side has been losing ever since it thought it won in 1973. The reasons Time listed were spot on:

  1. Pro-life laws
  2. Public sentiment
  3. Pro-abortion generational in-fighting
  4. Playing defense (defending the status quo)
  5. Science
  6. Stigma
  7. Aging abortionists

Indeed, abortion advocates have been in an admitted state of panic for quite some time over building pro-life momentum.

But within the past several days two abortion advocates have separately admitted their side is losing…

“Fast Times at Ridgemont High” a “positive” abortion film?

by Carder There is distinction between “shame-free” and “consequence-free,” and abortion will never be the latter. Most, like the character of Stacy Hamilton, agonize over up up [sic] until the last minute. It seems to me that the MSNBC hosts and the filmmakers in this case are reaching to glamorize one of the few acts […]

Vulgar abortion doctor: And they wonder why they get no respect

ChastineAfter reading Robin Marty’s piece in Think Progress the other day about abortion doctor Cheryl Chastine (pictured right), I thought I’d peruse some of Chastine’s tweets to see what she has been up to.

Chastine is on the cusp of sacrificing a promising career as a legitimate ob/gyn to to take abortionist George Tiller’s place at his retooled abortion clinic in Wichita.

I’ve loosely followed Chastine’s whereabouts since I took part in Pro-Life Action League’s first protest and “outing” of her at her former Oak Park, Illinois, practice last April.

I say “former” because the doctors at her day job let her go due to the public turmoil created by pro-life exposure of her circuit-riding job.

So I was scanning @DrJaneChi’s tweets and was struck first by the amount of time she seems to have on her hands, not a surprise since her abortion clinic’s business is apparently slow, but second by Chastine’s adolescent foul mouth.

Here’s a sampling. WARNING: Vulgarity. Click to enlarge…

  • Abortion Pill Risks notes a disturbing recent case report which calls into question the safety of off-label use of RU-486 for abortion. The FDA relies on voluntary reporting of serious adverse events of the drug’s use:

A case report published in the July 2013 issue of Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology confirms the discovery of the first known global death case of “Fatal Clostridium septicum following medical termination of pregnancy.”…A number of different off-label or alternative medical abortion regimens have been recommended by providers in the United States. In the United States the FDA has issued public health advisories to warn health care professionals about the risks of sepsis and toxic shock in medical abortion and to reinforce use of the FDA approved regimen which does not include the vaginal use of misoprostol.

Planned Parenthood abortionist not happy pro-lifers protesting at his private practice

1275590085Abortionist Emil Felski kills babies at the Planned Parenthood of Greater Orlando clinic.

But Felski also has his own private ob/gyn practice in Casselberry, Florida, where he also covertly commits abortions.

Pro-life activists often pray and protest at Felski’s office, to let his patients and the public know about his side job, and to encourage him to stop murdering babies.

On October 1, Felski was not happy when spotting two pro-lifers holding signs as he came to work (in what looks like a Corvette).

As the video below shows, Felski stopped his car on a 6-lane highway to first snap photos of the pro-lifers and then abscond with the “Repent Dr. Felski!” sign….
