  • At National Review, Michael New points out that – surprise, surprise! – a much-touted poll claiming to show that most Texans are opposed to a 20-week abortion ban was actually chock-full of loaded and leading questions. New refers to a methodologically sound poll, which the media has, of course, ignored:

A more professional poll was conducted by the University of Texas and the Texas Tribune. It shows that… banning abortion after 20 weeks of gestation — one of the provisions of SB5 — has the support of over 62 percent of Texas residents.

  • The Los Angeles Times has a story on Hoag Hospital’s decision to merge with the St. Joseph Health System and stop performing abortions. To get an idea of how pro-abortion some people in California are, the attorney general of the state is now investigating whether Hoag performed less than 100 abortions a year and is making sure Hoag is “doing enough to ensure that there are accessible alternatives for elective abortions.”

Christian university retaliates against pro-life student for showing graphic reality of abortion

Four months ago Diana Jimenez had an epiphany.

“I was pro-life but had no idea what an abortion looked like,” Diana told me today by phone. “Then I actually saw a video of an abortion, and my heart broke in pieces.”

A senior nursing student at Biola, a Christian university in La Mirada, California, Diana (pictured right) promptly launched a pro-life group and invited Gregg Cunningham, executive director of the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform, to speak. After a great deal of energy was expended to publicize, only four students showed up.

Diana was compelled to attempt greater outreach, and the clock was ticking, with graduation just around the corner.

  • Andrea Mrozek writes about the death of notorious Canadian abortionist Henry Morgentaler:

Abortion is the “choice” in that critical moment in a woman’s life when hope went on holiday.

This is Morgentaler’s legacy: The death of a child, renamed a choice, and without limit in Canada.

He deserves neither all the credit nor all the blame, of course. When the Supreme Court of Canada heard the now infamous Morgentaler case in 1988, their intention was not to bestow abortion as an unfettered right. Instead, the court went so far as to acknowledge a legitimate public interest in restricting abortion, and then threw the question back to Parliament — which has been holding the ball ever since.

2013 pro-life summer boot camps for teens/college students!

boot camp final

Following the tradition we started two years ago, we’re posting all the upcoming summer pro-life teen- and college-aged boot camps we could find around the country. If we missed any, please let Kelli know.

If I had teens in the house now I’d not only send them to church camp every summer, I’d send them to at least one pro-life boot camp during their high school years. These provide a great opportunity to build strength and confidence in the sanctity of life and also launch lifelong pro-life friendships.

It’s great to see so many pro-life groups in so many states sponsoring these vital training programs for our young people….

  • Five abortion clinics in the Pittsburgh area have closed since Pennsylvania passed new abortion clinic regulations. Four of the clinics voluntarily shut down, while Stephen Brigham’s American Women Services was closed by the state. Planned Parenthood, always playing the victim, is complaining about the extra business:

Two registered facilities remain in Pittsburgh, records show.

“There’s just no providers,” [Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania spokeswoman Rebecca] Cavanaugh said.

Planned Parenthood of Delaware abortionist ogled, slapped, played peek-a-boo with patients

2013-05-03_1344… And that’s not the worst of it. I didn’t have room in my title for the hymn abortionist Timothy Liveright sang to one patient during her abortion, “Jesus, Ohhhhh Jesus, take the sinners down the river, Ohhhh Jesus.” Seems to me that was meant as some sort of double entendre for the abortion he was committing. Gross on so many levels.

I spoke yesterday with RN Jayne Mitchell-Werbrich, pictured above right, who worked at Planned Parenthood Delaware’s Dover and Wilmington clinics for 3-1/2 months in 2012. During that brief time Jayne saw a lot. And what she saw left her “dumbfounded.”

  • Pro-Life Action League has filed a formal complaint demanding an investigation into the death of 24-year-old Tonya Reaves at Chicago Planned Parenthood clinic:

While normally, such violations of professional medical standards would be reported to the Illinois Department of Public Health, all Illinois Planned Parenthood facilities are unlicensed. As a result, any investigation relating to sub-standard medical care on their part is entrusted to [the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation].
