My new role at Susan B. Anthony List

SBA-20_logoOriginally posted June 23, 2015

Dear faithful readers of JillStanek.com:

First, the exciting news: I am honored to have accepted a position at Susan B. Anthony List as its National Campaign Chair! Read more at WorldNetDaily.com. Also read SBA’s press release and a a blurb in Politico’s Pulse.

I have been a long-time admirer of Marjorie Dannenfelser and the SBA List team, many of whom are friends. I partnered with the group during the 2012 election cycle for a bus tour exposing Barack Obama’s abortion/infanticide extremism.

This is a new position, for which I will travel the country on behalf of SBA List, speaking to pro-life activists, donors, and voters to promote SBA List’s aggressive campaign strategy to elect a pro-life president in 2016 and advance the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.

This will be a permanent position. After the 2016 election there will be the need to conduct another national pro-life political campaign… and another… and another.

But of immediate importance to me, as you know, is passage of the Pain-Capable Act, because as an RN I witnessed the excruciating deaths of 20+ week abortion survivors who would have been saved had a 20-week abortion ban been in place.

Electing a pro-life president is the gateway to enacting this legislation into law. And, of course, a president also wields a tremendous amount of influence in other areas of importance to pro-lifers, such as funding abortion groups and the pro-death agenda, judicial nominations, and other pro-life/abortion legislation.

I witnessed firsthand how devastating pro-abortion legislators can be when I watched then-state Senator Barack Obama vote four times against the Born Alive Infants Protection Act and take a leadership role in seeing its defeat.

Now, the sad news. Because my position at SBA List will be full-time, I have made the difficult decision to grind almost all activities at JillStanek.com to a halt, after 10 years of blogging here. I will basically be keeping the blog open now for archival purposes, posting my own blogs very infrequently.

After this week we will be streamlining my blog to just those postings, which will also be published at Live Action News. This means no more quotes of the day, pro-life videos of the day, pro-life blog buzz, or pro-life news briefs. Also, there will be no more commenting. All comments will be directed to my Facebook page.

2009-06-04-MSNBC-StanekIt has been a great run. After all, were it not for my blog I would never have been named “Worst Person in the World” by Keith Olbermann!

That goofiness aside, we broke many stories of importance here, including information on late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart’s victims in 2013.

But times online have changed. The timing of all this is good – and God’s.

In the beginning (10 years online are like dog years), pro-lifers had to check several blog and web sources a day to get all the news they needed. Now, in combination with social media, Live Action News, LifeNews.com, LifeSiteNews.com, and StanekReport.com capture everything we need to know. And there are now many great pro-life writers.

11297838_10153274799331622_1900318693_nSpeaking of StanekReport.com, it will soon become HarmsReport.com. Pro-lifer Monte Harms has been the strongest contributor to SR.com behind the scenes and will be ably taking the helm. (Thanks also to Carole, Susie, and Josh for their help with SR.com.)

Monte has a rich pro-life background, having volunteered for Justice for All and Protest ABQ and done sidewalk counseling at abortion mills. He has also run the blogs Stand for Life and Pro-Life New Mexico.

And what about Kelli, our site’s glue? I’m happy to report she will begin working for Live Action News next week, doing much of the same work she did here. This blog would not have been held together were it not for Kelli, who has poured herself into it for over six years.

Kelli is but one dear friend I have made here. I can’t begin to name all the wonderful moderators and volunteers who have dedicated themselves on this blog, although I must highlight some special people who were here from the beginning, or nearly the beginning – Bethany, Carla, LauraLoo, and MK.

Special thanks to Carder, Hans, and Susie, who have steadfastly posted great stuff here, so helpful to our cause. And I’d also like to thank our current mods: Del, Sydney, and last but not least Bobby Bambino, who has also been a mod since we began having mods!

But most of all, I want to thank YOU, pro-life readers and activists, for your support of this blog but moreso the sanctity of life.

Prayers appreciated!

For Life Together,

Jill

Announcing StanekReport.com!

stanekreportad3

Think Drudge Report for pro-lifers, harnessing the latest up-to-the-minute pro-life news.

That’s the new StanekReport.com!

While there are many pro-life websites and blogs, and there is news on the pro-life issue scattered all over the place, there has been no one website where with the click of a mouse one could read the latest important headlines on pro-life news – until now!

There will be a little crossover from this blog.

Our own Susie Allen, who authors Pro-Life Blog Buzz here twice a week, is one of SR’s editors, along with Jivin’ Jehoshaphat, who writes Pro-Life News Briefs. Both are already accustomed to scanning headlines for important pro-life news.

We will also include the Quote of the Day by Carder and Kelli. And Kelli will help hold things together, as she does here.

Other than that, StanekReport.com and JillStanek.com will remain separate entities for the foreseeable future.

You can “like” Stanek Report on Facebook and follow @StanekReport on Twitter.

Check out StanekReport.com often throughout the day for updates.

Also included is an RSS feed to the latest posts by LifeNews.com, LifeSiteNews, and LiveActionNews.org.

The Race to Save Our CenturyThe Race to Save Our Century should be taught in every college in America.” ~ Eric Metaxas, New York Times bestselling author of Bonhoeffer and Amazing Grace: William Wilberforce and the Hoeroic Campaign to End Slavery

On sale now, by pro-life activist Jason Jones, producer of Bella, and scholar John Zmirak, is The Race to Save Our Century, a book that reviews the brutalities of the 20th and 21st Centuries, the heroic stories of those who stood against them, and offers five principles to restore at Culture of Life.

For one week, now through September 27, you can receive a FREE copy of this important book, signed by Jason, in return for pledging $10 a month to support JillStanek.com! I’m setting no time limit for this pledge – cancel when you like.

20140921_081739But know your monthly donation supports the ongoing work of not only one of the “Top Ten Enemies the Pro-Abortion Left Fears,” but also one of the newly named “7 Women Working Tirelessly to Screw Over Other Women”!

In other words, abortion proponents hate what I have to say – but they’re paying attention.

We are almost halfway to a $10,000 goal we’d like to reach NOW, which will carry us through the first two months of 2015. Monthly support is critical. It provides peace of mind and helps us set a budget.

Thanks! Pledge $10/month to JillStanek.com and enjoy a FREE signed copy of The Race to Save Our Century!

Why the selective outrage over showing abortion victim images?

createdequaljumbotronby Kelli

Before the release of footage of one football player slugging his wife, he received a two game suspension. Later, when the footage revealing the actual strike was released to the public… people became disgusted. The slugger was punished twice for the same offense… [and is] no longer allowed to be a part of the NFL.

Imagine if the footage in those cases was not revealed. It would not have the same impact….

Animal rights and groups which feel compassion for abused, starved, tortured animals are allowed to show imagery on television and elsewhere. Where is the outrage over that?

Slaughtering a tiny new human being who is defenseless, innocent, and depends on mother for her life, is the worse of all the aforementioned, combined, yet, for some reason, people become all sensitive, outraged, and offended when defenders of innocent babies reveal the truth of abortion…. People become more upset if an animal in utero is abused or killed than a human baby suffering a worse fate….

Millions of people watch movies which depict women being assaulted, stripped naked, tortured, raped, dismembered, burned alive, screaming in agony and terror, pleading for mercy, pleading to be released, pleading for their lives….

Why is it so many have the stomach for such vile imagery… but demand that imagery of the real effects of elective, induced abortion are adamantly blocked, fought, and touted as unfit for public scrutiny?

It makes no sense.

Let people see what abortion really is and then let them defend the disgusting, truly offensive, violent, blood slaughter of innocent babies pushed by a society which raises abortion up to some sacred, wonderful experience and a badge of honor making a woman a conqueror, a victor over some weird concept of “power,” and “autonomy.”

Yes, high schoolers SHOULD see abortion victims. They might already be rather jaded from ingesting the imagery from all the abusive athletes, suffering animals, torture and abuse in movies, and so forth, but they should see and become educated in the truth and counter the whitewashed imagery of abortion as some wonderful, sacred, women liberating rite of passage.

~ Commenter William, remarking on why images of abortion victims should be seen by the public, in response to “Pro-life vid of day: Should high schoolers see abortion victims?” at JillStanek.com, September 17

Help JillStanek.com reach fundraising goal!

2014-07-20_0905This week, due in part to connections I’ve been able to establish across the pro-life spectrum, I was able to:

Each of these stories took several hours to several days to investigate and pull together. I was only enabled to do this thanks to the generosity of pro-lifers who freed my time to focus on pro-life journalism.

10527780_820645397945539_7212393107575863438_nDue to amazing supporters we have reached 40% of our $10,000 goal, which would carry our budget through the first two months of 2015.

Please consider donating this weekend and help maintain JLS.com’s online presence. There is one pencil drawing by the talented Bethany Kerr still available to the next $150+ giver!

There are two giving options – one time donations and/or monthly giving. Donating even $5 a month would be helpful. Thank you in advance, and thanks to all who have contributed!

Announcing new JillStanek.com crew members!

announcing-thumb-200x301by Carla

I would like to announce some exciting news here at JillStanek.com!

We have reshaped our Mod Squad, which is made up of pro-lifers who have shown themselves to be dedicated, honest, and respectful commenters here.

I’m excited to announce that Del, LibertyBelle, and Sydney have all graciously said YES to accepting the opportunity to moderate this blog! We are excited by their willingness to do this! Carder and Bobby Bambino will carry on as mods as well, and we are very grateful. Many thanks to our outgoing mods Gerard Nadal and Alice.

I will be stepping down as lead mod of this blog. Six years have simply FLOWN by!

I read this blog for years and did not comment until 2007 and was hooked. :) Jill asked me to be a moderator in 2008, and I have learned so much! I have met amazing pro-life warriors who are now lifelong friends and come to understand exactly what those who are pro-abortion think and believe.

I have watched some of those pro-abortion hearts transform into pro-life hearts and have also had the privilege of helping post-abortive mothers who have contacted me. Jill gave me a platform as a post-abortive mom and a chance to speak my heart and bring a name and a face to post abortive regret… and for that I will be forever grateful.

I will be praying for all of you as you continue to fight the good fight here and out there. Saving lives and educating others and celebrating the major pro-life wins in laws that protect mothers and their children. I am so proud of all of you!

This is not goodbye. This is “see ya”!

Jill note: Carla has been a dedicated leader on this blog, taking her role as lead moderator very seriously. I am really going to miss her. And yes, Carla is my go-to friend to whom I send post-abortive moms for compassion, wise counsel, and help with healing. I know I can still go to Carla for that. She has become a dear friend over the years. I am really going to miss her daily presence here.

We are also going to miss Gerard and Alice and thank them for their sacrifices of time here. LauraLoo also needs an extended break away from job-sharing Pro-life videos of the day with Hans. The blog’s glue, Kelli, will be stepping into her shoes.

I want to welcome and thank Del, LibertyBelle, and Sydney, well known and cogent pro-life voices in our blog community. Carder, Bobby Bambino, and Susie are all staying on, whew!

Thanks also to you readers and commenters for indeed making this a special place.

Please support JillStanek.com

2014-05-12_0819When I launched my blog in 2005, many didn’t even know what a blog was! I didn’t have to invest much money in the early days due to the low volume of traffic initially.

The Life Prizes award I am indebted for receiving from the Gerard Foundation in 2008 kept the blog financially afloat as it grew to attract thousands of visitors a day. It enabled my partner Tim, of ProLifeBlogs.com, and I to incorporate (to legally protect us personally), and to hire administrative assistant Kelli to care for our growing managerial needs.

Kelli is the only person associated with this blog to receive a salary. All moderators and writers – Alice, Bobby Bambino, Carder, Carla, Gerard, Hans, LauraLoo, and Susie – are volunteers for whom I know we are all so grateful! Nor have Tim or I ever financially gained from our blogs.

But the Life Prizes award has now been depleted, and we have to finally turn to our faithful readers and believers for financial support to cover Kelli, our monthly server fee, and blog improvements.

As you all know, there are precious few news and opinion sources from inside the pro-life world who can break through the liberal wall of protection that surrounds the culture of death. I am grateful to be one. None of these news sources would have quoted me – which is to say, published a pro-life point of view – except for this blog.

In the nine years JillStanek.com has existed, I’ve never requested financial support. But now it is time.

Please consider donating even $5 a month to keep JillStanek.com providing online news and opinion and providing a forum to share the same.

Thanks in advance for your generosity. :)
