BREAKING: Bombshells in Parenthood Gulf Coast’s $4.3m fraud settlement

breakingnews2The good people at Alliance Defending Freedom have forwarded me the settlement agreement between Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast and the United States of America, the Texas Attorney General, and whistleblower Karen Reynolds, for charges that PPGC committed Medicaid fraud between 2003-2009. The settlement was signed by all parties on July 24 and 25.

As I wrote yesterday, PPGC has agreed to pay $4.3 million. According to the settlement, the money will be divied three ways:

Pro-life news brief 8-1-13

by JivinJ, host of the blog, JivinJehoshaphat Mollie Hemingway has a great point on the national media turning a blind eye towards Planned Parenthood’s Medicaid fraud: It’s so confusing how a private breast cancer charity choosing not to give Planned Parenthood a couple hundred thousand dollars generated thousands of stories but that same abortion group […]

Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast actually settled for $4.3 mil, not $1.3 mil, for Medicaid fraud

ppfraud-320x240Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott announced on July 24 that his office had obtained a $1.4 million settlement against Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast for Medicaid fraud, with the settlement to be split between the state of Texas, the federal government, and the whistleblower (former PPGC employee Karen Reynolds).

It turns out the AG was apparently only announcing his state’s cut. The total settlement is actually $4.3 million – almost $3 million more than previously known. From the Houston Chronicle today:

Busted: Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast must repay $1.4 mil for Medicaid fraud

Last week I hypothesized that Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast’s announcement that it was closing three clinics in Texas had nothing to do with new pro-life Republican laws and funding cuts, as it claimed.

Rather, I wrote, ”was this really an attempt to erase dots between the shutdowns and PPGC’s problem with Medicaid fraud?”

PPGC clinic closures had nothing to do with those Medicaid fraud charges, sure

Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast took the occasion of Texas Governor Rick Perry’s signing of a new omnibus pro-life law today to announce it was closing three of its 12 clinics. The reason, per Huffington Post:

Malpractice lawsuits against abortionist dismissed: no insurance, bankrupt

As many abortionists are found to be over the course of time, abortionist Reginald Sharpe is a menace to society.

ssharpebiobbabyThe rap sheet against Sharpe is long.

Sharpe’s medical license was placed on probation in 1998 for illegally administrating drugs and was suspended in 2005 after he botched an illegal 27-week abortion. Sharpe was busted in 2008 for illegally dumping patient records, aborted babies, medical waste, and syringes. In 2010 Medicaid revoked Sharpe’s certification for unspecified “fraud and abuse, false billing, or kickbacks.”

In addition, Sharpe has been sued at least five times:

Thanks to pro-lifers Michelle Wolven and Catherine Davis, a small group of us have been on this story for weeks.

While Michelle and Catherine were digging through online records of Georgia abortion clinics, they stumbled on the fact that Attorney General Eric Holder’s wife Sharon Malone Holder (both pictured right) co-owns with her sister an Atlanta area abortion clinic building.

The building is located at 6210 Old National Highway, College Park, Georgia.

The business itself is called Old National GYN. Click on deed above and see below…

United Airlines CEO co-chairs Planned Parenthood gala

Abby Johnson posted a startling find today: United Airlines President and CEO Jeff Smisek and his wife, Diana Strassmann, are co-chairing Planned Parenthood of the Gulf Coast’s October 6 gala, to be held at Hyatt Regency Houston. Within PPGC’s domain is the largest abortion clinic in the Western Hemisphere, Planned Parenthood Houston. As Abby wrote: This […]
