yes this is very true.
Often and we’ve seen this on the blog here, that proaborts criticize prolifers for not doing enough or living what they preach.
This is a lame duck argument, since most of the prolifers I know have supported others and done more than expected to help unwed moms and dads.
And Amanda, there’s no telling yet, just how this will play out.

Im happy Bristol is keeping the baby thats for sure. It goes to show that her mother’s values were transfered down.
Its easy to give in to sexual temptations as a teenager. I dont think there is a Conservative out there who could safely say they never made a mistake in their life. However, she is standing up for her beliefs and is making the ultimate sacrifice. She is not only going to carry to term, but she is going to care for the child and take advantage of the security she has been brought up in that so many take for granted. It will be interesting to see if she goes to college and starts a career. I will definitely be keeping tabs on this girl for the future.

You bring up a great point. My wife’s mother witness countless acts of fraud during the texas caucus. She was a delegate for Hilary and found out that Obama was cheating the system repeatedly. Now I will say, I doubt he himself specifically asked for this, but this is what his campaign has done. He is aware of the charges, and says nothing in response. I am sure he would respond with “these folks are liars.” Hopefully he will lose this election and the truth will be investigated and his career will be ruined.
Keep in mind that it is his tactic to come across like “change” but to do the attacking at a sub-level so that he does not “erode” his “brand.” So refreshing! A politician that says he is a different but acts just the same!

It was probably a surprise for Palin’s family, even if the daughter and her beau had sex. (I don’t like the word “protection” because I picture people “protecting” themselves against a baby.) Pro-choicers love to play the “if it were you” card, and this pro-life family is showing exactly what it would do “if it were they.”

I wonder how many “under the radar” types there are starting to come around? I have to admit, when Obama speaks, he just oozes awesomeness. I wont lie about it. However, what he does in the background is not justified. I will say that honestly, that comment didnt bother me. I mean, it is gross, but it is in a sense an absurd response to a notion that he finds absurd. We have to remember that God essentially framed our belief system in a silly way. He wants it to come across like that, for, I assume, to true hearted to be attracted.
However, what is unjustified is his early insult to Jill. He should absolutely recant the statement based on the grounds that it would be rude were it true and also on the grounds that it is a false allusion anyways. Amanda and SoMG’s comments make me very sad. Especially Amanda’s cause, well, I like her.
What can you do though? They don’t have compassion for unborn babies, so I don’t expect much compassion from them for anyone else. You know, I understand that idea that we want to hold politicians to higher standards, but really, they’re just people with families, trying to do the best they can. The Palin family is doing just that. Making the best of what they’ve got, and they’ve got my vote.

Apparently there is an “anarchist” movement that got extremely violent. Did the DNC protests get violent? I missed most of the coverage.
I find the “anarchist’s” opposition to the Republican party hilarious by the way. An anarchist is someone who opposes government intervention. Think of them as extreme Libertarians. They want the government overturned. Why would they not protest the DNC as violently? Or at all? If anything, the Republican party is more interested in limiting goverment intervention than anyone. What this shows is that the “anarchist” movement is just as childish as teenagers who claim the be anarchists to be an “outsider.”

I’ve been reading my mom’s copies of the National Review — very revealing and disturbing things about Obama — his “community organizing” connections and philosophical basis. His autobiography is very revealing also. He is really a very bitter man and has to hide his real agenda because there is no way he can carry enough of the vote to win without doing so.

Why don’t you take this rejection, as I am sure you have accumulated a litany of them throughout your life, as a positive and, change your outlook on God and life. Your denial of God and your direct rebellion against Him will not be made up by your apparent intellect. In other words, you cannot save yourself. To continue to deny this fact is not smart.
The sad thing is, you misuse God’s gift for your own ends and not for the betterment of others. The truth is, intellect misused is foolishness, but intellect used and applied properly is wisdom. I’ve got a much tougher skin than somg would like me to have. And I agree that God does love him very much, but somg does not love himself. And therein lies much of the problem.
Oh Oliver, you would have to ask! I will try to get back to you with specifics. I read my mom’s copies when I am at my parents’. I should bring them home so that I can take my time reading and then retain more info.
I can tell you that one of the articles was by Stanley Kurtz who is trying to investigate his connections with Bill Ayers. The (I think) U of IL was going to allow access to info that they had in their collections or archives and then rescinded and wouldn’t allow Kurtz to look at any of the documents. I think that they have changed their minds again but Kurtz had voiced concerns that some things may have been tampered with. I heard that much on Bill Bennett’s radio show before it was removed from our local station. The station went from talk radio to an all music format just last week — I was just sick about it! (His was the only show that I listened to with any regularity.) His connections with community organizing lead to The Gamaliel Foundation and ACORN who apparently have far-left radical views.
They very pointedly hide their agenda behind euphemistic phrases and labels because they could not accomplish much otherwise. They base their mode of operation on Saul Alinsky’s writings. (Hillary Clinton apparently wrote a term paper about him.) He advocated for using the courts to legislate if you couldn’t accomplish your goals through real legislation. After reading this, it was very obvious that Obama was using their euphemisms and mode of opertion to persuade his audiences.
There was another article by another writer in the National Review who quoted parts of his autobiography. I’m sorry — I can’t go into specifics without having the article in hand. I will try to get back to you with more. I’m just not doing it enough justice.
Stanley Kurtz was interviewed on WGN radio just recently and the station was flooded by Obama protesters who were encouraged by his campaign to call and send e-mails. They tried to intimidate in an attempt to cancel the interview. The producer had offered to include someone from the campaign but they had declined. Obama supporters are so quick to yell “SMEAR CAMPAIGN” but there are legitimate questions concerning his connections and ties.

Oliver, without being able to quote B. Obama, verbatim, I can tell you that he is pretty bitter about what has been done to black people (and other minorities) by the U.S. throughout our country’s history — despite his seemingly comfortable appearance at transcending race. Now, just in case anyone wants to accuse me of being racist — if B. Obama was conservative and pro-life, (and didn’t have all of those unsavory ties in Chicago) I would vote for him. :)

I wouldnt link those two together at all. I often find that those who are eloquent, like Mr Obama, have little substance, and visa versa.
But I wonder if he would genuinely attempt to unite or simply make the middle class “pay” like all socialists want to do.

Is he really? If I’m not mistaken he was the “Mancow” that was (maybe still is) in Chicago. I remember listening to his show ONE TIME on my way into the City and hearing him say that if his girlfriend got pregnant with a Downs baby he’d force her to abort. This was back around ’95 I think.
Either this is someone different or he had a HUGE change of heart! (Hooray if he did!)

There was something else that I wanted to tell you about the being kind to SoMG situation. And that is, that were it not for God’s grace holding me intact, I would be the worst sinner of them all. I would be pro-abortion in all senses of the phrase. I would want to get women pregnant just so they could have abortions. Any good that I do WHATSOEVER is 100% of God. There is no hope without his grace. So were it not for his grace, I would be SoMG. The fact that I have been so blessed makes me desire his grace for others, especially those who do not have it.
That’s part of the reason why I do think kindness may be an effective way to SoMG.

I think it depends on what you classify as “substance”. If you include hate and negativity in that category, then one of the greatest orators of all times had plenty of substance in his speeches (to the German people of the 30’s and early 40’s).

Even if that were true (which it’s not), it would just go to prove that, yes, a human beings life is indeed more important than a career. Even if that career is a “big” as vice president of this country.
