BornAliveTruth.org releases Gianna Responds ad; Focus on the Family launches $500k ad buy in CO

CHICAGO – BornAliveTruth.org released its second ad today featuring abortion survivor Gianna Jessen responding to Senator Barack Obama’s direct attack on her. See the ad here.
Additionally, Focus on the Family Action, a CO-based family organization, is kicking off a $500,000 radio ad buy featuring the original Gianna ad revealing Senator Obama’s voting record on born alive infant protections. See here.
Gianna’s first ad will air on radio stations across CO and the new Gianna response ad will air on TV in Cleveland, and will be featured on TheDrudgeReport.com [later today] and at BornAliveTruth.org.
The total ad buy for both radio and TV will be close to $600,000….

Obama’s response spot to the original Gianna ad was filled with false and misleading distortions about Gianna Jessen and Obama’s own voting record against born alive infant protections.
“Senator Obama had the audacity to go after Gianna Jessen, born alive after a failed abortion, and call her and the ad she appeared in ‘a despicable lie,'” said Jill Stanek, executive director of BornAliveTruth.org. “We want to make sure voters are aware of Barack Obama’s extreme stance on abortion and that he voted four times, while an Illinois State Senator, to deny medical care to infants born alive after abortions.”
Gianna Jessen is the first abortion survivor to appear in a political issue advocacy ad.
In her second ad, a 30-second spot, Gianna addresses Obama’s attacks and says that she has, in fact, dealt with worse: she survived an abortion. The full text of the ad is below:
Seen this ad? In it, Senator Obama personally attacks me. I’ve dealt with worse; I survived an abortion. State Senator Barack Obama voted 4 times against laws to protect babies who survive abortions. Meanwhile, U.S. Senators voted 98-0 for Born Alive Infant Protections. Senator Obama says deciding when babies get human rights is above his pay grade. Tell him abortion survivors deserve legal protections too.
Senator Obama has attempted to cover up his abysmal voting record, saying that there were already protections in IL state law for babies born alive after abortions. However, existing laws were inadequate to protect and guarantee immediate medical care to all infants born alive after failed abortions.
“Senator Obama had several chances to close that loophole in Illinois law and give babies, like Gianna, the necessary medical care they need to survive after a failed abortion,” said Stanek. “But he didn’t do it – in fact, he voted against bills to close the loophole. Four times he voted against giving infants who survive abortions their basic human rights.”

It is critically important to put as much emphasis as possible on saving Republican Senate seats (and House seats).
The BornAliveTruth ads should condemn ALL anti-life Democratic politicians, not just Obama. The Democratic Congress is controlled by the abortionists and is just as much a danger to unborn children as is Barack Obama. We need to defeat Obama AND Democratic candidates for the House and Senate.
If Obama wins, the only way to stop him will be to have saved as many Republican Senate seats as possible, so that we can filibuster damaging Democratic legislation.
If McCain wins, we will be looking at the unhappy prospect of losing more seats in the 2010 midterm elections. The only bright spot will be if we have limited our losses in 2008 (or by great fortune if we actually manage to win seats in the House and Senate this year).
Please try to focus on defeating “Boulder Liberal” Mark Udall, the Democratic candidate for the Senate from Colorado and all other abortionist Democrats running for the Senate.

You’d expect an organization of licensed health-care professionals worried about their conscience rights would make its points in a serious, professional manner, right? Not this one. They call Barack Obama “Barrie Hussein”. Planned Parenthood “Klan Parenthood”. And pro-choicers “abortiholics” (which I guess is sort of clever).
If I were a right-to-life pharmacist worried about protecting my conscience rights, I’d sooner entrust them to an organization of third-grade boys.

I’m not seeing anything new in this ad. It’s already been thoroughly debunked. If they haven’t helped McCain so far, it’s doubtful they’ll help now.
As more and more of these negative, dishonest anti-Obama smears have hit the airwaves, more and more people think favorably of Obama and unfavorably of McCain. So, keep it up!

The only thing that has been “debunked” is the facetious claim that Obama is prolife, or that he did not vote to deny medical treatment for “born alive” babies. He is not, and he did.

Jeff, I agree with you that speaking the truth isn’t a smear. Now that the born alive issue has received national attention, I hope bloggers will hammer home this week that the Illinois law didn’t protect all abortion survivors, as Obama claimed in the last debate.
I was recently talking to two Obama supporters, and when I explained the loopholes in the law that Obama claimed covered all abortion survivors, both said they couldn’t vote for him. Both had taken Obama at his word and hadn’t done research on their own. One even remarked that she wondered what else he might be lying about.

This seems utterly untrue. It’s so easy to do, so here’s my effort:
I was speaking with some McCain supporters over the weekend. They didn’t realize his choice of Palin for VP was so completely irrational and dangerous. They have concluded based on our conversations that they can’t in good conscience vote for that ticket and have decided to instead enthusastically support Obama/Biden.

Palin’s authority over the AK National Guard is limited to state civil issues only, like responding to local natural disasters.
As quoted by the actual service commander of the Alaska National Guard, Maj. Gen. Craig Campbell, Palin isn’t in charge of anything that has to do with federal defense.
“When members of the National Guard are federalized, they work for the president,” Campbell said Wednesday. “It’s not just overseas. They could be federalized to go to other states or they could even be federalized in the state.”
