What to expect when you’re expecting in college – Part 2 of 5

See introduction and Part I here.
About Part 2:
We learn more from the girls about the “lowest lows and highest highs,” and about the accommodations they received. I ask different people in the St. Louis University community if they know what resources are available on campus and/or where to get it, and get some interesting answers.
Then we are introduced to the 1st of 2 big pregnancy centers close by that cater to the students – Planned Parenthood. The representative explains PP’s programs, agenda, and what happens when students or women come in the door with a positive pregnancy test.

Dun dun dun! I can’t wait to see the pregnancy center.
Along what Liz was saying in the previous video post, I do think it is interesting how PP approached women.
I had a TOTAL of over 5 hours of footage, and bout 45 minutes of each were at these pregnancy centers. The differences were clear-Planned Parenthood was very focused on prevention of ‘unplanned’ motherhood and other consequences of sex like STDs. The 3rd video looks at the other one so we can tell the difference there..
Were you wearing the baby belly when you went into PP and the pregnancy centers?
Nope, I actually did those interviews before school started. When I wore the belly before school it was in public places to “practice” my walk, gait, and answering questions and then add changes to the suit if necessary. Plus, I thought it would be very awkward to walk into a PP with a fake belly on! XD
Haha, I think it would be AWESOME to walk into PP with the fake belly. “So, PP, I’m obviously pregnant and in need of assistance, how can you help me?”
I agree, PP’s focus is more on prevention of pregnancy and unplanned motherhood, than services and assistance for those who are already pregnant and want to carry to term and this where I think pregnancy resource centers come in and play a vital role.
lol lauren I could do this for a living if I had a steady source of income ;)
