The most anti-life PSA ever
UPDATE, 3:25p: Facebook friends Debbie and Lawrence made a good point. Why doesn’t this group show instead a PSA of an abortion? That would have the same intended impact when you think about it. But the reality of abortion is part of a long-standing mass cover-up. “If people saw it, they would know that it’s a baby and then might change their minds about being ‘pro-choice,'” wrote Lawrence.
_______________
Hot Air posted a video last night of a despicable British PSA:
Long story short: It involves a bloody struggle on the playground and it’s graphic enough to have been pulled by YouTube – and then reposted, with this particular clip having already drawn almost 100k views in a day.
That number is now up to 300k. Watch, and then we’ll talk.
Sponsored by the whacked out Leicester Teenage Pregnancy and Parenthood Partnership, this ad only frightens teens from delivering babies, not making them. By so doing it only encourages abortion – not carrying her baby to term – in the event a girl does get pregnant.
As so many of our pro-abort commenters are fond of saying, “Way to keep it classy.”

My jaw fell open when I saw this.
What an over-the-top piece of tripe.
nasty.
But I will tell you there is worse going on in the school system.
Young girls in health class are forced to watch a video showing a live birth. These are girls who are 13 and 14 years old. This is done in science and/or health class without prior knowledge of the parents.
I do not believe that this is appropriate for most teens.
Many young teen girls simply do not have the emotional maturity to view a live birth outside the context of their own family.
The response to such videos is that many young girls are overly frightened of pregnancy and birth. There may even be feelings of profound disgust which last well into adulthood.
I agree with Jill: this video promotes abortion and also the idea that giving birth, which is a natural event in a woman’s life under the correct circumstances (read marriage), is a traumatic horrendous experience. How truly pathetic.
Absolutely despicable.
It is becoming very evident that the legions of Satan have decided to use abortion as their Weapon of Mass Spiritual Destruction, not only to destroy the unborn, but to deceive the young and impressionable.
And you guys want to continue to talk about this stuff?
This is beyond stupid. Are you kidding me? There are so many things wrong with this I hardly know where to start.
I guess I’ll go with the obvious. When have you ever heard of a woman being surrounded by a crowd of onlookers as she spontaneously delivers a baby. Oh, that’s right…never.
Yes, some women do have very quick labors and deliver at a random place, but the reaction would be to run for assistance, not flock around and point.
What exactly is the point of this video? Don’t have a baby or you might randomly go into labor at school and people will gawk at you? Note even remotely likely.
That was one of the dumbest things i ever saw. Why on earth is she giving birth in the middle of a football field or whatever that is? What does age have to do with that? It makes no point whatsoever except don’t hang around the school yard on your due date.
Really, did you expect anything better? They’ve made it very clear how utterly pathetic they are and how being a parent, in their eyes, is the worst thing that could possibly happen to a human being.
Yep, those pro aborts are real classy people. *sarcasm*
Kind of a “scared straight” thing, then??
This video is just all around B-A-D.
Oh my gosh. Go to the website for this organization and scroll all the way to the bottom. You’ll find a lovely image called, “Want respect? Use a Condom.”
Lord help us.
Here ya go: http://www.myspace.com/wantrespect
Um, sorry to post so many times, but you guys have GOT to watch the video on that “Want Respect” site. It is DISGUSTING. Words fail to adequately describe it. You have to see for yourselves.
But I will tell you there is worse going on in the school system.

Ummmmm, in my area of the country, seeing the films in health class has been going on for so long…. parents ought to be remembering the films they saw.
The trouble with watching a video of live birth is all in the presentation. It can be made to look frightening by the manner of filming and the circumstances. The actual birth giving should be be an uplifting experience, but isn’t always. Giving birth in a war zone in front of enemy soldiers is a large problem, for example, as is any medical catastrophe.
At not much older age, we got to see an abortion procedure done in Scotland, on film, at school. It was a medical presentation, a quite controlled and sterile procedure, but still it was killing a human being. I’m all for showing the kids something positive, a mom giving birth who wants to keep her baby.
As for live births, rural kids can see them pretty frequently, and a very young age…… just walking through a field. It’s a great experience. Most kids might say it’s gross, but never pass up a chance to see another.
I think the focus should be to improve the circumstances of giving birth, not hide the natural fact of it from our kids. Killing the baby doesn’t improve circumstances for anyone in the long run.
Not really in the mood for spiritual mortification right now, Lauren :)
Dear Planned Parenthood idiots: Most women do NOT give birth surrounded by a bunch of onlookers on a **football / rugby / whatever field**.
England has a high rate of teen pregnancy compared to rest of Europe. This area is especially bad. I read that teens contributed to the idea of this video. They wanted something that would have an impact on teens. They should show what all the choices look like:abortion, young single or married parenthood, giving birth and then giving up your baby. Teens should see that none are easy. And if it gets noticed, depict each as over-the-top as they have done here. Maybe it will get their teens to behave responsibly.

except that teens use to learn this the natural way in the family.
They saw mom pregnant, having morning sickness, gaining weight and being restricted in movement to a degree, in early labor, going to the hospital, up at night feeding the baby etc.
It was learned in the school of the family.
Not any more.
With one kid and two kids families, how many kids even know how to interact with a baby?
I’m sorry, as with sex ed, this is not the way to learn these life skills.
That home education only happens when you are an older sibling and old enough to care and remember whats going on.
Teens used to see abortion, adoption, teen parenthood and chilbirth at home? The natural way?
not necessarily emma.
When families were large, there was always someone having a baby. I remember older cousins having lots of children. There was always some one to babysit. And young teens did care and were interested.
I think this video relies on shock value but the point it gets across is that having a baby is a terrifying, shocking, gross, horrible ordeal. It is simply not this way at all. It is damaging to a young woman’s view of her femininity and her gift to have children. Under the proper circumstances, giving birth, while tiring and sometimes difficult, is a very rewarding and profound experience.
Emma, this video does not represent reality in any way. They could have a woman in a hospital bed, in pain, whatever.
I doubt that any woman in the history of the world has given birth in a scenerio such as the one presented in this video.
I was referring to birth, adoption through the family and they learned about sex from mom and dad. I did. I think you quite know what I meant, emma.
oh, and 40 years ago, moms didn’t routinely think about killing their babies emma.
A mother, even a teenage mom, gave birth to her baby in a loving way. She often sacrificed a part of her life to do this.
Isn’t there an award somewhere for the suckiest PSA ever?
I doubt that any woman in the history of the world has given birth in a scenario such as the one presented in this video.

yes, it’s especially difficult with shorts on!
That was stupid!
Ungodly parents breed ungodly children. I call them and their children liberal drones.
Maybe after this video, they could show us a mock abortion. -joking! Except the baby pieces will be scattered in the field. SICKENS ME!

Angel, do you think that this is why we’ve been seeing a vast number of pro-abortion females who seem to be not only opposed to child-rearing, but downright disgusted by anything having to do with the entire experience? Since they’ve been shown birth in a classroom before they were ready, perhaps their vision of it is skewed in an irreparable way, and they see a baby in all its forms as something to destroy and combat that will harm them rather than for what it is, a helpless person who they should nurture and love?
Sorry, that was me, posting TO angel, not AS angel. I’ve got angel on the brain. >_
xalisae: I think the phenomena is not restricted to proabortion females but to women in general.
I think that young girls are growing into young women who simply see babies as a bother and as something to ruin their precious figures.
Many women simply do not seem too interested anymore in having children. They don’t seem to want to open their lives to children and sacrifices this would entail.
Even monetary rewards are not working to encourage couples to have children. What these men and women don’t realize is that without children, a society has no future.
I think movies like this are simply one of many factors. The narcissistic society we live in where the emphasis is on “me”, rampant materialism, the cult of the body and so forth.
wow talk about low. This ad is basically designed to scare girls. It combines two of a teenage girl’s worst fears- being humiliated in front of everyone and becoming a teenager mother.
OK so this is stating the obvious to most of you but just in case there are some teenagers who don’t understand abortion / birth / whatever on here reading this…
If you think about it, it’s kinda funny that they think a teenager with the presence of mind to go through with her pregnancy and do the right thing would be the type of person to be unprepared and still in school on the football field approaching or on her due date. And what group of teenage kids is going to surround a woman in labor shouting? None. If anything they would freak and leave. The teenagers who do decide to keep their babies are the ones who think things through and would be more likely to NOT be at school on a football field the day they go into labor.
And having had two kids myself, I can tell you that you can waddle with a baby halfway out (I’ve done that during labor to get from the bathroom to the bed and bath etc.), and get somewhere safe. Besides, being in a stressful situation stalls labor so it’s highly unlikely that with people surrounding her and screaming at her she could really give birth that fast. Plus first time moms usually have really long labors.
This is the dumbest video of all time. I also looked at their website and it is incredibly deceiving, promoting mostly condoms and STI tests etc. and birth control information, but mixed in are the links like ruthinking.org which has this info about Abortion: http://www.ruthinking.co.uk/the-facts/search/articles/abortion.aspx
So they can say all that they want that they are about preventing pregnancy but really they are all excited about promoting abortion as “an operation that ends the pregnancy.” Love how they refer to it as the pregnancy and not the baby.

LOL, you know this is because there is NO baby there right? Something happens magically at the end of 9 months and gives you a baby at the EXACT point it comes out of the mother. Even a minute before that it’s just a bloated stomach with a bunch of cells.
Kristen, you can’t be serious!
These teens are a disgusting group. No doubt a product of their vile and immoral parents;|
thats only “graphic” if you’re an absolute prude. And besides, having a kid at 16 because the pope, your dad, or your boyfriend want you to is stupid. Just as no one has the right to touch you without your permission, no one has the right to force a woman to deliver a fetus to term.

yup, that’s why I’m prolife! Because the Pope says so. :(
Your bodily autonomy argument does not respect the right to bodily autonomy of the baby.

Your partner is left out of the equation too. You know, the choiceless father.
angel, the above was to YLT.
YLT, No, I believe it is considered universally graphic to show a baby crowning. It’s not disgusting, but it is graphic. I remember there being a bit of an issue with them showing the crowning in Knocked Up.
Also, no one should have to tell you that it is wrong to kill your own child. The mothers I know who choose to give birth after being pregnant teenagers did so because they knew the alternative was killing their child. Not because the pope said not to.
Keep throwing up strawmen though, YLT, you really help your cause!
Yo La Tengo,
A woman does not “deliver a fetus to term.” She gives birth to her child. Her *own* child. Her own flesh and blood.
Anyone who can justify torturing and killing their own child…well, that’s horrific. Call me squeamish, but *paying* someone to do it just makes it even more brutish.
If you’re going to have the limbs ripped off your own baby, plan to poison it to death, or cut a hole in the back of its head and suction out its brains, for heaven’s sake, ladies, woman up already. Cut out the middleman. Do it yourself. After all, Yo La Tengo says it’s just a “fetus.” If it doesn’t creep you out to do it *before* it’s born, why would it be disturbing after you “deliver” it?
What happened to waiting for sex until marriage? I am tired of the sexual revolution!
EMC,
People are still waiting until marriage. They tend not to be the most vocal ones, I fear.
Keith Deltano is a vocal one. He gives presentations to teens and is hilarious. I don’t know why we don’t hear more about him in the pro-life media.

If it is “her own flesh and blood then she can have an abortion.” it is her body – her flesh, her blood. Next you’re going to tell me that woman should always be pregnant, never having their periods, because it is a “life” that is sqandered.
Yo la –
A baby has different blood, DNA, from his or her mother. A male fetus has a penis. Is this part of her flesh? No.
You know better – a period doesn’t contain a living being. That’s the goofiest thing I think I’ve ever heard on this blog.
re: Janet at May 23, 2009 8:49 PM
fetal pictures are like inkblot paintings, you can make of them what you want. i repsect that you think a fetus is independent of the woman in spite of the umbilical cord and other accomidations of the womb, but just as I know someone who is convinced she is in actuality a sprite with a tail (I kid you not), perception does not always equal reality that is mutually understood.
YLT said to Janet, “i repsect that you think a fetus is independent of the woman in spite of the umbilical cord and other accomidations of the womb…”
YLT, I don’t think that Janet was saying that a child is independent of his mother.
I also think that you missed Janet’s point.
